  • That is so cool! From what ive read, :), plant cutting should be < than 6 inches, and have 3 nodes maximum on them. You can start them in damp paper towel , and place them in a baggie, to keep the air humid around them, and place them in indirect light. If you have rooting hormone, it helps. I also read somewhere that real honey can act like a rooting hormone. Some plants root easily and you can just put them in water. How are they doing? Ground dried banana is great fertilizer.

  • Usually with these type of trees it takes very long for them to start growing healthy. Be patient. Give them time to establish a good root base and if your plant grows a few leaves that's a good sign. I've done 5 cuttings with my mango tree and only 2 of them grew. My cuttings are a 1.5 years old and still only have 12 leaves. At one point they started to flower but I was told to cut the flowers off because the tree was too small to ever support fruits and I should wait until the tree was bigge

  • your very cute lol

  • Hey Jane. I love plants too. Though I don't have a patio so for now I'm growing mine indoor. I started 4 citrus plants a few months ago. I believe it was an orange tree and grapefruit tree. But they've only grown two leave to date. Healthy leaves but only two. I wonder if you know how long does it take these things to grow?

  • @TheDearlovediaries Hi! Most likely they need to be transplanted. Their current container isn't giving them the right "nutrients" it needs. Also, make sure you only have 1 plant per container, because they give off a lot of roots. I have some citrus in a small container and hasn't grown much and I have a few in one container that are growing Very Slow. Then I have 1 in a decent size container and is growing well. I hope this helps :). Good luck with growing! :)

  • when you propagate a cutting/ branch for reproducing you DO NOT cut the leaves off because since it has no roots yet it absorbs its nutrients through the leaves.

  • Congratulations!

  • @Andalbanon Thank you!

  • Just leave a bud on the branch take off every leaf..

  • @StatenIslandSlim Thanks for the tip! :)

  • Congratulations! There is a wonderful film entitled "Enchanted April" it is about two women who escape Post WWI London and rent a villa in Italy. In the garden is a cherry tree which has sprouted from the walking stick of someone who once visited the garden and loved it so much and planted his walking stick in it. So I guess if we all put love and hope into our gardening, things will grow! Best Wishes from Normandie, Pavlovafowl aka Sue

  • @Pavlovafowl Thanks, Sue. That sounds like a very interesting film.

  • Hi Jane, congrats on the 100, good to see a face to your voice.. more personable and nice to see ya once in awhile.. it 's a good thing, keep the videos coming I love the things you grow.. :)

  • @dianemummvideos Thank you, Diane. I definitely have more videos to upload :)

  • I'm excited to see if it grows keep us posted from what I've read trees propagated thru cuttings will be true to the mother plant and produce sooner than those from seed good luck and congrats : )

  • @Planting81 Thanks, and you are right about the cuttings.

  • It's excellent knowing there are so many people watching! : ) If you look up "stephenhayesuk", he knows a lot about grafting trees, and could tell you if those branches would make roots.

  • @Helioforge Thanks for the tip. I will definitely check him out. :)

  • Congrats! Good luck to your mango, I hope it will grow and you'll get a lot of mangoes from it. I have a big mango in the front yard, it flowered a few weeks ago. But the flowers didn't turn into fruits because of the rain. Hopefully it will flower again sometime in December. They are really sweet. I'm also from the Philippines.

  • @mjt1024 Thank you! The tree I got the branch from fruited early this year so I definitely know it's a good tree :). And hello fellow pinoy! :)

  • I'm sure you will have success... It's always good to have an open mind. I tried doing some research but didn't see anything online about the right way to propagate the cuttings... just wing it l guess! By the way, I just made a video about all of the plants I currently am growing indoors. You can check it out when you can. Congratulations on 100 Subscribers!

  • @5Language Thanks! I know if I dipped it in that rooting solution, the chances of it rooting will be higher, but i don't have one and I guess I want to give it a try without it first. ^^

  • Congrats!

  • @MrRhett18 Thank you! :)
