yes i own a set of Callaway X-22 irons and i love them. They are very forgiving without sacrificing distance.......plus they look cool :P. I highly recommend them.

if you're not a extremely low handicapper that wants to shoot 3 under par, why would you need to work the ball other than in trouble shots?

Being able to control it left or right helps to get it closer to the pin but, its not necessary. if you told tiger woods to use cavity backs, he'd still shoot amazing scores cuz low scores come from putting and short game

@JEEDAB123 Well my whole thing with these irons that Roc has and others like it, is that I believe they are harder to hit then a players iron. These x 22s are too big, fat, too much off set, D1 swing weight, etc... I think its easier to play with blades or a compact cavity back then these god forsaken things. These clubs make you hit it high and straight and shorter. I need a lot more playability and thats why almost every pro plays a blade or forged CB.

the lofts on GI irons are usually a few degrees stronger to help fight high trajectory so they are always a good 5 or 6 yards than players cavity backs and blades

the diablo range is along way behind the FT range of drivers they have

but sadly most callaway clubs look like absolute crap other than the new wedges and the proto blades

they made quality woods back in the late 90's but havent produced anything special since then, their current line up of drivers cannot compete with the likes of taylormade, titleist, and ping

the FT9 was a good driver, but i still cant think of much else

and they may have alot of wins this season but someone like els and mickelson would win with any premium driver, and phil drove the ball quite badly at the masters, i tend not to look into 'manufacturing wins' etc. At PGA tour level, a different driver isnt going to turn world number 300 into number 30, it may make a slight difference, but at their level its more about swing mechanics IMO

@nhlmike26 Ok, so when he comes in, ask him what diver he plays. When he won the Transitions championship earlier this year, he used a Callaway FT-9 Tour Authentic (9.5°) with an Oban Devotion 70 X shaft. Everything else was either srixon, taylormade, or cleveland, just not the driver.

couple years ago at riviera i followed rocco up the 9th fairway chit chattin with him, when we got to his ball he was just off the rough and had a nasty lie he said "you think i can get this on" it was about a 180 yards uphill shot bad lie, i told him "i bet tiger could" he just turned to his caddy and started crackin up, like seriously what other tour pro could you crack jokes with like this? anyway he pured it out and put it on the green, and said "thats a tiger shot" hilarious moment!

Probably because the pro's are cleaver. They use the clubs that will help them rather than what most amatures do, which is use what they think looks good. Have a look in the bags of most of your club members and you'll be shocked at how many 18 handicapers are sing blades.
