It's so ironic how even tho whitebeard and roger were on the same level, but it took like 200 stabs 1200 shots and 55 canon balls to beat whitebeard, but it took 2 stabs to kill roger, that's kinda weird when u think about.

@jetstream68 the difference between them is that Gol D died out of his free will, he surrendered himself because he was sick. Whitebeard died protecting his crew which gave him the courage and tenacy to take all that damage without falling.

Besides maybe Whitebeard also died after a couple of stabs and shoots. Whitebeard was already dead, he died standing firm on his two feet.

Besides, don't forget Roger was a pretty much normal person; no DF or such. Besides, the way they died was also different. Roger had a desease, so he would die anyway and didnt care. Whitebeard was in a fight, fighting for his life, his crew and Ace.

Marco even said that if he wasn't sick, he wouldn't have gotten stab b/c of his reflixes, which also means that Navy HQ would've been completely obliterated. But Whitebeard put up more of a fight even tho he was sick, cuz like u said for Ace and his crew and WB got his chest and his stomach burn and didn't die.

@jetstream68 Ofcourse WB was sick, those nurses on his ship werent there for no reason. But, one major difference; WB's sickness was NOT life threatening. Roger's death was certain, WB's wasn't. Later in the war he knew he wouldn't survive, but decided to go down fighting, he would die from his injuries anyway. The fact that WB could take all this damage is pretty much pure toughness.

@FreestyleRez absolutely true, there wouldn't be a big search for one piece if roger didn't die meaning the grand era of pirates would not have excisted. About the DF thing: It's stated roger had a pretty much normal crew when it comes to DF users. The only known DF user of roger's crew was buggy (accident as we all know). Roger however was capable of hearing 'the voice of all things' just like the girl with that dragon (filler episode).

@mmmmnn1 Roger had the ability to hear 'the voice of all things', meaning he could hear the voices of birds but also trees and even rocks. At the moment Oda has yet to reveal if Roger was capable of using haki and if yes, what versions. So, we don't know that yet
