Anyone can argue why the Italians succumbed to switching to teh Allies- but the sheer fact is the Allies won the war by the famous motto- 'they got the guns but we got the numbers & resources.' Like most wars there are always great men who lead in great conflicts but the bottom line is and was the resources. Look at how many men the allies wasted, sorry to refer to life as that, but the allies threw men, men and more men and the Axis couldn't hold out.
@ionman40isback yes Hitler was a Genius. He would be ruling the he hadn`t started doing Cocaine and shooting his Generals. He was a Genius, as well as Insane. He was a Genius in my eyes, Wrong, But very smart. Anyone who denies that probably has the IQ of a leaf.

@soibon Yeah, I always wondered how Hitler could have tolerated someone like him. During his botched invasion of Greece from Albania, not only did the Greeks repeal his invasion, but they pushed beyond their borders into Albania before the Germans took over. It seems to me that he was more of a liability than an ally.
yeah... of course! every italian was fought by the restistance simple is that or ? ...ha ha ha
the most of italians(surely of the northern part)fought under the RSI on the German side...because the would'nt denote as traitors and cowards.
don't forget that Italy was in a Civil war during the time 1943-1945 .....and thew partisans was compare with the yugoslavia, russians or French very ineffectiv and bad led.
@TheSabbath8 Isnt that just because Italian people werent so easily fooled into following along with the horror. So maybe the I talians came to their senses first. Oh yea they did Valkiri? I dont think I spelled that correctly but if you ask me there was a resistance in Germany as well.
@outskool100 if world leaders used violence as a means of bettering the country, we'd have every american brit & soviet leader hung in the last 30 yrs... like USA did Negros in the 1950s
@talltower- this video is hastily makeshift propaganda newsreel.Mussolini was captured in his run head towards Switzerland by a Partisan unit and executed (following a sentence issued from Joint Partisan Command) near Como Lake with her thirtytwo year old lover Clara Petacci by Partisan Cmd Audisio in 4/28/1945.Later, both corpse (and some other fascist killed) were pulled out from morgue and exhibited few hour hanged upside down on gas station roof in Milano.
@hatleman2 My grandpa fought and was captured in N.Africa. My dad said supposedly he was strung up by his ankles and castrated. He also said my grandpa saw him like this and took a photo--but I haven't seen it personally. He was strung up on an Esso gas station (the company still exists) and I'm angry that I didn't see this location when I was in Milan 2 yrs ago even though my hotel was 2 blocks south of it--I didn't know the location until I was back in the US
@hatleman2@hatleman2 My grandpa fought and was captured in N.Africa. My dad said supposedly he was strung up by his ankles and castrated. @hatleman2 Hitler and the Nazis never had any respect for the Italians anyways.
The Italians would've been a lot better off all fighting alongside with the Americans and the English, like my grandparents who were partisans in Italy.
@jimmyxx3 WRONG. You make it sound as if the Italians were inferior cowards, when in fact the bottom hard core truth of it, is that they wanted their freedom back from the nazis and from Mussolini, who took over not with a democratic election, but with force and dictatorship. The Italians hated both Hitler and Mussolini, and in fact, even if the Americans freed some Italian cities in the south, the Italians themselves (the Resistance) fought the nazis and freed many major cities in the north.
@vampiroangelico Seriously, mr. intellect, are you one of those glittering vampires? Of course the Nazis didn't respect the Italians--they were failures in both World Wars--what was the quote about them being on the Axis side in the second war by an American? Oh, yeah, "Only fair that they have to have to have them on their side this time." Italians almost fucked over the West in the first war and they fucked up Germany in the second war.... Well, at least they are consistent.
@mafiadonpersona Well, from a hystorical point of view, it turns out that you are factually inaccurate on the Italians, in both wars. In WW1 the Italians were fighting against the Germans, and kicked their asses out of Italy on their own, and on WW2, the Italians didn't want to fight against the Allies, but wanted to fight against Hitler! Unfortunately, it turned out that the idiot Mussolini took over Italy with the use of force (wasn't democratically elected) and he had different plans.
@vampiroangelico Lol I don't know what your talking about. Huge mountains seperated Italian from a front with the Germans annd Switzerland. Italians were fighting the Austrians and they were getting their ass kicked. Only reason Austria ended up losing is because they ran out of food. In second World War the Italians did really bad.. again. They only sent out about 1/5 the number of troops as Germany and were under the command of a German general (Erwin Rommel) So they lost big time.
@TheSarenarass In WW2 the Italians won because of a series of complicated reasons that you cannot superficially narrow down to "The Austrians ran out of food".
In WW2, there was no such thing as "The Italians", since the vast majority of Italians were AGAINST Hitler/Mussolini, and the ones who fought for Mussolini, were the ones who were brainwashed by his wacky theories and his idiotic alliance with Hitler, which made no sense. My family were in the Italian Resistence, and fought the Nazis.
I don't agree when you say most of Italians were against the Axis during WW2. That's true for 1943 and after, but at the beginning 90% of italian people were behind Mussolini.
@Perversus666 I respect your opinion, but I disagree. How did you come up with that percentage?
According to my grandparents and friends, all people who lived WW2, the vast majority of Italians had never forgiven Mussolini for that March on Rome in 1922, and, just like now, even back then in Italy there were people of many political ideologies like Democrats, Socialists, Communists, Liberals, Republicans, Anarchists, who never accepted the idea of a dictatorship, and wanted their freedom back.
@vampiroangelico yeah you are right, thats way Italians were fighting so badly during WW2. They were doing it on purpose as they didn't gave a shit about Mussolinis war.
@gooooorka That is partially true, and they didn't care about Hitler and his absurd obsessions about racial superiority, which turned out to be factually inaccurate.
That is why the Italians, which are white, took it upon themselves to hide and shelter Jews or non-whites in their houses, so the Gestapo or the SS would not find them, to then deport them in concentration camps.
There are many books about this, to prove it, and my grandparents hid Jews in their house as well.
@Perversus666 Hey dumbass do some research the Sicilians hated Musolini and didnt even show up for his speeches.....the Mafia tol him to "fuck off" basicly. LOL
@vampiroangelico My girlfriend ages ago was from Genova-her grandfather from Milano. Her grandparents were resistance fighters. They were talking about it on a visit once. They likened the experience to that old movie Rome Open City-I think it was called.
@exeuroweenie Thanks for the info. I will check it out. She was also a great actress....I remember the movies with her I've seen when I was a kid in Italy, her parts are always all sooo realistic, and I love that in an actor!
@vampiroangelico Yep,one of my favorite actresses, though she died before I was even born.Never seen anyone at once so powerful, real, yet beautiful-like some force of nature.Mama Roma's on Hulu,I think.
@exeuroweenie Mamma Roma? It will remind me of the years I lived in Rome....I can speak the roman dialect pretty good, if I want to, although I'm a northern Italian myself! :-)
@vampiroangelico If you've never seen it,it has to do with underground resistance fighters.Magnani did an astounding death scene.I have relatives in N.Europe.Unfortunately,the furthest south I've been was France.I love anything Italian though, plan on going in a couple years.
@vampiroangelico Oh,my bad,was thinking of Rome Open City.In Mama Roma she played a hooker with a son.My bad,I'm trying to give up coffee and failing miserably.
@exeuroweenie LOL no biggie. I looked up Roma Open City or Roma Citta' Aperta on Hulu and they don't have it. They only have a couple of short scenes....
Who fought for mussolini then? who killed hundreds of thousands of libyans and still refuses to apologise for it?? the italians came in thousands to settle their and commited atrocities?? there is nothing such ''brainwashing'', everbody is free to make a choice.
After getting orders from his communist headquaters Colonel Valerio emptied his machinegun to Mussolini who shouted - No! Also his mistress Clara Petacci was shot. Later the bodies were hung upsidedown from the roof of a gasoline station.
Yeah - Hitler played him as a pawn. Died like a dog...faciest bastard. Betrayed the US and swore allegiance to germany while causing his own country to suffer immensly.
@marius1071 Where did you get that information? Everything I can find said that he was shot and then hung upside down on a pole. The crowd tore his body down and dragged and kicked it through the streets.
If that is Mussolini being hung upside down then it looks suspect, look at how high his body reaches up the wall in relation to the door on the left. If the door is 2m tall (usual) then he is only something like 1.0m tall which must be BS.
the footage you see of the execution is not mussolini. thats just an example. mussolini in fact died an inglorious death and was hung up by his heels in a public place alongside his mistress.

that`s why Hitler wanted his body to be burned after he killed himself so that the same thing didn`t happen to him

@hatleman2 Hitler and the Nazis never had any respect for the Italians anyways.
The Italians would've been a lot better off all fighting alongside with the Americans and the English, like my grandparents who were partisans in Italy.
vampiroangelico 1 year ago
@vampiroangelico
They would have never dared to fight with the Americans, not for any reason.
jimmyxx3 1 year ago
@jimmyxx3 WRONG. You make it sound as if the Italians were inferior cowards, when in fact the bottom hard core truth of it, is that they wanted their freedom back from the nazis and from Mussolini, who took over not with a democratic election, but with force and dictatorship. The Italians hated both Hitler and Mussolini, and in fact, even if the Americans freed some Italian cities in the south, the Italians themselves (the Resistance) fought the nazis and freed many major cities in the north.
vampiroangelico 1 year ago
@jimmyxx3 Well, this is true.
mafiadonpersona 1 year ago
@vampiroangelico Seriously, mr. intellect, are you one of those glittering vampires? Of course the Nazis didn't respect the Italians--they were failures in both World Wars--what was the quote about them being on the Axis side in the second war by an American? Oh, yeah, "Only fair that they have to have to have them on their side this time." Italians almost fucked over the West in the first war and they fucked up Germany in the second war.... Well, at least they are consistent.
mafiadonpersona 1 year ago
@mafiadonpersona Well, from a hystorical point of view, it turns out that you are factually inaccurate on the Italians, in both wars. In WW1 the Italians were fighting against the Germans, and kicked their asses out of Italy on their own, and on WW2, the Italians didn't want to fight against the Allies, but wanted to fight against Hitler! Unfortunately, it turned out that the idiot Mussolini took over Italy with the use of force (wasn't democratically elected) and he had different plans.
vampiroangelico 1 year ago
@vampiroangelico Lol I don't know what your talking about. Huge mountains seperated Italian from a front with the Germans annd Switzerland. Italians were fighting the Austrians and they were getting their ass kicked. Only reason Austria ended up losing is because they ran out of food. In second World War the Italians did really bad.. again. They only sent out about 1/5 the number of troops as Germany and were under the command of a German general (Erwin Rommel) So they lost big time.
TheSarenarass 1 year ago
@TheSarenarass In WW2 the Italians won because of a series of complicated reasons that you cannot superficially narrow down to "The Austrians ran out of food".
In WW2, there was no such thing as "The Italians", since the vast majority of Italians were AGAINST Hitler/Mussolini, and the ones who fought for Mussolini, were the ones who were brainwashed by his wacky theories and his idiotic alliance with Hitler, which made no sense. My family were in the Italian Resistence, and fought the Nazis.
vampiroangelico 1 year ago 28
I don't agree when you say most of Italians were against the Axis during WW2. That's true for 1943 and after, but at the beginning 90% of italian people were behind Mussolini.
Perversus666 1 year ago 29
@Perversus666 I respect your opinion, but I disagree. How did you come up with that percentage?
According to my grandparents and friends, all people who lived WW2, the vast majority of Italians had never forgiven Mussolini for that March on Rome in 1922, and, just like now, even back then in Italy there were people of many political ideologies like Democrats, Socialists, Communists, Liberals, Republicans, Anarchists, who never accepted the idea of a dictatorship, and wanted their freedom back.
vampiroangelico 1 year ago
@vampiroangelico yeah you are right, thats way Italians were fighting so badly during WW2. They were doing it on purpose as they didn't gave a shit about Mussolinis war.
gooooorka 1 year ago
@gooooorka That is partially true, and they didn't care about Hitler and his absurd obsessions about racial superiority, which turned out to be factually inaccurate.
That is why the Italians, which are white, took it upon themselves to hide and shelter Jews or non-whites in their houses, so the Gestapo or the SS would not find them, to then deport them in concentration camps.
There are many books about this, to prove it, and my grandparents hid Jews in their house as well.
vampiroangelico 1 year ago
@vampiroangelico sure that too. They were just opposed to that war.

After getting orders from his communist headquaters Colonel Valerio emptied his machinegun to Mussolini who shouted - No! Also his mistress Clara Petacci was shot. Later the bodies were hung upsidedown from the roof of a gasoline station.
This was in Time magazine in their cover story.

If that is Mussolini being hung upside down then it looks suspect, look at how high his body reaches up the wall in relation to the door on the left. If the door is 2m tall (usual) then he is only something like 1.0m tall which must be BS.
