The Guru Account is a great idea. I always believed that this site could be used as a great teaching tool. I myself have already learned a lot of computer related stuff by watching some of the how-to videos.
This has been pissing me (and others) off when I write really long comments and it exceeds the character limit, How about adding a character counter next to the comment box so people know when to stop. Thanks :)

How about spelling correction for the search box much like when you type in a wrong and misspelled word in Google? I think that is one area you should cooperate with them on
Yes this was so wrong, Mordeth13 has now gone over to livevideo and is already one of the most popular video posters over there largely due to alot of his YT subscribers dumping YT and going over there and dicovering a site that works better.
Oh yes and he has created a new YT account moredeth13 so that his old subscribers can find him and find out about his livevideo videos. Long live livevideo!

I keep going to my videos and pressing "Make this my profile icon" and it always says that it is, but when I go to my videos, there's just a little red x there... please help?
I would like to know how you are combatting the spam and fake videos (eg, miaarose). You want to promote that kind of marketing stuff fine, but give us an option to have negative searches. For example when I look at most watched I'd like Naurato, LG15, miaarose and various other junk to disappear from that list.

So many of us work so hard to create a video. They turn out perfect but as soon as you upload them, they turn out jittery, blurry and so on. No one expects them to be DVD quality (although that would be nice) but at least smooth and clear running.
Another feature would be to offer VIDEO CONVERTING TUTORIALS that work best for YouTube. And make them so that a 7 year old can understand them. In other words, give "real" help to "real" people. Like me. I still don't know "exactly" the best way to render a video for the best quality available for YouTube. Emails don't help. Too vague.
A good feature would be a results filter. If you're sick of certain users or videos about Japanimation, then you should be able to block those videos from ever showing up. If you can block people from commenting, then you should be able to block them from showing up when you look at the most viewed lists.
You meaan like on auctions sites such as ebay you can put a -and the word then it your taking out what you don't want to be searched. That would nice since on some searches your not getting just the persons videos. other people who uses the username or some famous persons tags come up in the searches the videos you don't want to see.
It's tough to understand what exactly you're saying, but anyone who puts famous YouTuber's names in their video description really aren't worth watching.

When someone favorited my video I used to be able to click on the # (of times favorited) and see a list of users (that favorited it). That was helpful to find people who had similar tastes. Why was that taken away?
yea i hope they update the messageing system,and make it so when you leave comments they ALWAYS pop up,not just sometimes,and my mail says i have 1 unread message so i go delete all of my messages i alreddy read,and i supposively still have one unread message..

One thing I'd like to see (and I post here as I don't know where else to do so) is variable quality presets. So if one is uploading a vlog, say, they can adjust the quality so it encodes at a lower bitrate in mono (as it's not needed to be top notch hi-def), but if one is uploading say a piece of music they play, or something that requires stereo, they could set it to a preset for music that gets a better sound, say.
Also, when you fix the videos watched counter, could you please make it recognize a users return as other features of the site do? I've noticed if I didn't re-log in or edit something on my home page, my counter didn't change when I watched videos. Small matter I know, but 254 videos watched after being a member for 2 months makes you look like a newbie ;>D

Can you make the list of favourite things longer so that it reaches down to where the comment area is? The more I add the more it cuts off from the top like my age etc.
okay, i would understand if the videos watched stat. was removed to save memory, or even if it was taken due to "technical difficulties," but whatever it is, just be honest and keep us updated.
videos watched count: what happened? for those of us who have accounts and no videos to upload the count is just a little icing on the cake to keep us going but now the incentive, however minor, is gone entirely.
Is it people with high production video's, or low production video's? You have already proven that you are willing to put us into classes. will you stop at color or race or I.Q..
My point is that you should have never seperated us, & made those who like to see their talking heads, feel like they are any more important than those of us who dont. We all started here at the same time & you made them feel more important.They're not they are just more needy.

One thing that also is buggy on my account is: I cannot fill in all channel info things. Like, if I fill in Location, it clears the entire personal info section.
I miss the Director's account extra's!!! that always pop up when you uploaded the video: like the embedded URL, and the 3 extra lines in black to put on top of the video description.
I always took advantage of those! But they don't pop up anymore.
d) under the My Account section, the 'All Contacts' segment is broken, in that one can't delete unwanted channels ie haters or people who have either left YouTube or simply changed their name. And by the way THANK YOU for making these company videos, they are much appreciated! -skibby
A few things: a) can you provide full stereo audio like LiveVideo? Musicians and anyone working in detail with sound prefer it.
b) keep the image quality as sharp and vibrant as LV; they make Youtube colors look washed out in side by side comparison. c) I echo putting the comments back to the left hand side.
Finally someone has paid attention. We love getting attention especially from the Big Cheese Tubers. So here's my 2 cents if anyone wants it- sometimes when I'm viewing a video there will be something about that I'm not allowed to comment anymore since I've commented enough already on the video when I haven't commented at all on the video. Is it me?
I am a new director yet it still does not let me do clips longer than 10 minutes... I thought that was a benefit of the director and other special account.. REMOVE THE TIME LIMIT ON MY VIDEO ACCOUNT!!
Make sure the file is below 100mb, try compressing it to MP4 although it creates a grey mess at the very start, the file size is smaller and higher quality. (about 1mb every 3 minutes ish)
Powers: I have noticed that I may comment on my videos many, many times, using the "reply" - without the limit kicking in.
However, when I click "View all comments" or simply refresh the page, I am prevented from replying/commenting on my own video due to the comment limit. Just wanted to let you know of what appears to be a small glitch in the system.
two ways to see our subscribers BY DATE THEY SUBSCRIBED, and ALPHABETICAL,,,this would be good for when we check out another youtuber, so we can see who they subscribe to as well
PLEASE, do the LIVE VIDEO thing where they offer about 50 different thumbnail so the video maker can pick the pic that is best suited for the video when seen by our subscribers

that is what Guru channels are for - teaching how to do things - so I expect us to see more and more language experts training us how to speak languages (hopefully from their native countries!)
What you really need is a more extensive category system with multiple levels especially in the entertainment and news & blogs categories (there are so many vloggers). I'd also love to be able to browse by a channels country.

THE HORROR! ;P Imo the one button on the top left should be enough...
When browsing the "Your Subscribers" list you guys should have newest first so you don't have to go all the way to the end to see your newest subscribers.. even at 500ish I still have to click to page 30 something to see the new subscribers! :)

In the grid setup for the channel, I've seen that the link in the top right corner of the videos box is changed from View All to Subscribe/Un-subscribe. This actually caused me to mistakenly un-subscribe from one of my channels as I was moving on automatic.
That aside, is there any view to have the option to change the order of appearance of modules on the channel page in the future?
Also there is a "Contests" module, but I see no way to add anything to that module on the site...

Agreed, increase comment limit to 6. the comment limit, whilst stopping 100 spammers, prevents 100,000 other normal youtube users commenting and interacting with the site.
I don't give 7 shits about how my channel page looks. I don't want my videos spread all over the fucking internet on sites like cashsurfers, podcast and so on.
One question - why did you limit the favorites? I used to add everything I wanted to save in there, ut since the 'update' I can no longer do so because there are limits... And I do not wanna remove the old ones because I might wanna watch them one day, too.
The only thing I'd like to see is a "Top favorites" for videos... kinda like "top friends" on myspace only you get to choose the top favorite videos to display in your favorites.

One thing I'd like to see (and I post here as I don't know where else to do so) is variable quality presets. So if one is uploading a vlog, say, they can adjust the quality so it encodes at a lower bitrate in mono (as it's not needed to be top notch hi-def), but if one is uploading say a piece of music they play, or something that requires stereo, they could set it to a preset for music that gets a better sound, say.
Any thoughts on this?

Also, when you fix the videos watched counter, could you please make it recognize a users return as other features of the site do? I've noticed if I didn't re-log in or edit something on my home page, my counter didn't change when I watched videos. Small matter I know, but 254 videos watched after being a member for 2 months makes you look like a newbie ;>D

One thing that also is buggy on my account is: I cannot fill in all channel info things. Like, if I fill in Location, it clears the entire personal info section.

I miss the Director's account extra's!!! that always pop up when you uploaded the video: like the embedded URL, and the 3 extra lines in black to put on top of the video description.
I always took advantage of those! But they don't pop up anymore.

d) under the My Account section, the 'All Contacts' segment is broken, in that one can't delete unwanted channels ie haters or people who have either left YouTube or simply changed their name. And by the way THANK YOU for making these company videos, they are much appreciated! -skibby

A few things: a) can you provide full stereo audio like LiveVideo? Musicians and anyone working in detail with sound prefer it.
b) keep the image quality as sharp and vibrant as LV; they make Youtube colors look washed out in side by side comparison. c) I echo putting the comments back to the left hand side.

Finally someone has paid attention. We love getting attention especially from the Big Cheese Tubers. So here's my 2 cents if anyone wants it- sometimes when I'm viewing a video there will be something about that I'm not allowed to comment anymore since I've commented enough already on the video when I haven't commented at all on the video. Is it me?

I am a new director yet it still does not let me do clips longer than 10 minutes... I thought that was a benefit of the director and other special account.. REMOVE THE TIME LIMIT ON MY VIDEO ACCOUNT!!

Make sure the file is below 100mb, try compressing it to MP4 although it creates a grey mess at the very start, the file size is smaller and higher quality. (about 1mb every 3 minutes ish)

Powers: I have noticed that I may comment on my videos many, many times, using the "reply" - without the limit kicking in.
However, when I click "View all comments" or simply refresh the page, I am prevented from replying/commenting on my own video due to the comment limit. Just wanted to let you know of what appears to be a small glitch in the system.

What you really need is a more extensive category system with multiple levels especially in the entertainment and news & blogs categories (there are so many vloggers). I'd also love to be able to browse by a channels country.

Also, we know you're trying to block spam BUT the comment limit is rather frustrating! And I think you guys should find a way to put your update videos on the home page so that everyone sees them and they don't have to stumble across this channel... not everyone knows to look at the blog either. It's your site, you should feel comfortable addressing us from the home page!

Thanks for the update, I have been enjoying the new features! I personally like the comments on the left I know not everyone does. I'm sure your aware there are still occasional problems with comments getting through, like the messages were BUT I have certainly noticed the messages work!

On another note; PLEASE remove the UNSUBSCRIBE link from the top right corner of all video's box, there used to be the link to see all vids, now I accidently clicked it and lost my "premium first few subscribers place on Eemma's videos!! When browsing the "Your Subscribers" list you guys should have newest first so you don't have to go all the way to the end to see your newest subscribers.. even at 500ish I still have to click to page 30 something to see the new subscribers! :)

In the grid setup for the channel, I've seen that the link in the top right corner of the videos box is changed from View All to Subscribe/Un-subscribe. This actually caused me to mistakenly un-subscribe from one of my channels as I was moving on automatic.
That aside, is there any view to have the option to change the order of appearance of modules on the channel page in the future?
Also there is a "Contests" module, but I see no way to add anything to that module on the site...

Nice to hear from you! I hope you read the comments to this video. Put the channel comments back on the left because the page is farrrrr to long to scroll. At the least have a customise option - comments on the left (classic) or right (new). Also, please raise comment restrictions just a little... maybe 5 or 6? PLEASE????

Agreed, increase comment limit to 6. the comment limit, whilst stopping 100 spammers, prevents 100,000 other normal youtube users commenting and interacting with the site.

The only thing I'd like to see is a "Top favorites" for videos... kinda like "top friends" on myspace only you get to choose the top favorite videos to display in your favorites.
