Subaru - Fix Smelly air vents or A/C (works for any car/truck)

Do you remove the glove box only if your going to spray it towards the blowing motor? If you spray through the outside air intake (outside the car on the bottom of the windshield), do you still have to remove the cabin air filter?

It's also a good idea to change the cabin air filter as well. No sense disinfecting/de-molding your ducts only to have it repopulated once airs blown through the old filter.
