@GoliathAngelus Thank you, This was my very fist custom GI Joe. I have some better ones like blade, captain america and some better versions of punisher.
Thanks, but this was my first custom 3 3/4 figure and I've done tons more since this one. Check them out on my channel, if your interested. I only made a few marvel figures, but I do like dr. doom.
Thanks, this was an old one, I have some better customs I've done over the last year or so. I did a few more versions of punisher, a couple captian americas, and one of my favs Blade. Some or my best work is with Transformers.
That was my first try on painting a beard, but since then I have painted a few more and learned too thin out the paint(I use modelmaster acrylics) and use a small rough brush. Dip your brush in the paint and then wipe it almost completely dry on a paper towel, then just dab it on the area you want your beard. Maybe practice on a scrap piece of plastic.
I am putting together a Dr. Mindbender. He's almost finished, I'm re-inacting a scene from Arise Serpentor, Arise with a few more figures. Tell me what you think of it when you see it.
I done a few, but there is a pretty big market fore them on ebay. There has been alot of different figures made. I have kept track of alot of them. Who are you planning on making? I can probably tell you if it's been done and what parts to use.
The weapons are drybrushed and it's very easy to do. Just paint your item/gun black, then take a wide flat brush, dip it in silver and wipe it off on a napkin until it is almost completely dry, then simply brush over the black back and forth one direction. It will highlight the edges giving it depth. Then paint/detail any solid color areas.
Thanks for watching,
I need some new videos up, this is pretty old now.
He is one of the first 25th gi joe customs I painted. I have done a whole bunch now, have at least 2 actions a week on ebay. I just made a spiderman and had to do alot of body swappin. Most of my figures I have to do some dremel tool work and then sculpting puddy. Captain America took alittle Epoxy sculpting. I use modelmasters acrylics, NEVER USE reg testors acrylic, they will sratch off. Always clean and sand figures/joints. Do you paint too? I'll send you a friend request.
I'm about to make my 3rd version this week. He'll be on ebay by the weekend. I have an awesome Spiderman, BraveStarr, and a sexy half nude Baroness (removable clothes) this week on ebay. Just check out "custom 25th gi joe" there only about 30 items listed most of the time. I've had a couple each week.
cool. thanks for that info. finally three years working at Michaels arts and crafts store is gonna pay off. i guess i can start shopping there now for paint and tools. speaking of tools what tools do you use to get that small detail?
I could never find GOOD paint at micheals? Don't use the regular testors model paint from wal-mart/micheals, it sucks. Testors model masters brand is great for plastic! It will adhere to plastic much better than anything else. Also clean the figure real good, to remove any mold release and sand the joints. If you have a problem with joint wear, try a shield of superglue applied with a tooth pick. I use brushes on my figures, NO gundam pens. Use light colors over dark for a nice highlight.
has anybody ever told you you are freakin awesome! and im a black man, and i dont use that terminology very often, so take it as a big compliment. its funny i just decided the other day that i was gonna start customizing my gi joes again. i used to mix up their parts when i was a kid, but now im 25 and i need more of an excuse for buying them than just to play with them. but i got some cool ideas on characters i wanna make. what kind of paint and tools do you use?
I use modelmasters Arcylics and clear. Sometimes I use sculpting epoxy for custom parts. Have you seen my collection video? I have a whole room full of GI Joe and transformers. I started collecting in 2001 and my excuse is buying and selling them for a small profit :) I'm 29 and not a nerd, pretty regular guy.
Who did you Customize for this? Also you do great work.

I don t know if it is yours i hope not, i didn t liked it in fact it is crap.
The shield etc was a laugh and not so very well done.
Your Punisher is very good and well done.
Maybe because i am a fan of bad or good old skullhead that i like it so much.:p
