i think it must be after MGS4 just look at his armor it seams more advanced in alot of ways that being said raiden never was a cyborg he was wearing a artificial muscle suit just like solidus in MGS2 son of liberty ,
even though its said it explains the events we missed between MGS2 and MGS4 , raiden has lightning powers apparently (hence lightning bolt action) as that is the theme. BUT, raiden did not obtain lightning powers until the end of MGS4 or in other words the end of act 4 and raiden becomes lightning in act 5 just before snake enters the microwave hall. how does he have lightning powers if this isnt AFTER mgs4?? and it cant be after mgs4 as he says at the end "I'm done running"
I agree, Hideo said that the game is far from completion...it might be just a picture and dont forget that it is TEASER like the trailer we saw...and i 10000000000% agree with the 5,6!!! HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT! after 20 years MGS is something more than a game for him and for us fans. he wouldnt just use it for money, he doesnt need to do such thing...
its not Snake's bandana, Snake's bandana is a little wider at size, and i think its going to be set before MGS4, because, there is not much for Raiden to do after MGS4, but before, you have his Scout training, rescuing Sunny, and besides, if this pic is from Rising, how can it be set after MGS4, Crying Wolf is dead.
actually sunny was rescued by snake not by raiden and i agree with you this is going to be before MGS4 because at the end of MGS4 he returned to his human form, it would be weird if they made him cyborg again but crying wolf is not dead remember that the wolf take her so i dont know.

i think the game is set before mgs4 and could be about raiden finding sunny but i dont know,looks a bit like crying wolf could be possibly appearing

yes everyone knows it takes place between mgs2 and 4.
i just hope snake will be in it and the bosses dont suck like in MGS4 (thay felt tacked on like an after thaught)

1) - i dont really think its gonna mean much, but its really hard to tell
2) - it is unlikely that kojima had the name "metal gear solid: rising" at the time
3) - if it is "snakes bandana" then i guess it could represent the changing of the main character, but r u sure its acually his
4) - i personally hope it takes place in between mgs2 and mgs4, there are still questions that need answers
5,6) - it will be good, kojima would never put out a bad game just to make money
