@chinito15gwapito Accually Husky's re VERY related to wolves along with malamutes and wolf hybrids (because they can be 90% wolf) and Northern unuits. (which i fail at spelling). Please do some reasearch. im getting one (:
@ImSoHappiNinja lol i own a husky and malamutes and u are the only one who told that they are related to wolves? a big LOL give me a proof that they are related to wolves then i'll send you the proof that they're not
@96katja LoL, I don't seen a problem with this... I really don't. Its great you have trained your husky and it turned out great... but like humans, all huskies have different temperaments. I don't know if you know anything about training dogs... but one trick doesn't apply to all. This guy is VERY knowledgeable about the pack order that huskies typically follow and showed a great video.
This guy is crazy! How can you strangle your dog! I don't use this kind of collar and my husky knows how to walk properly! This video should be called "How NOT to train a husky dog. This a very harmful video. People, please do not use this method on your huskies! Normal collar or gentle leader is sufficient.
@andzikos it actually does not strangle the dog if put on properly and used properly. When he corrects the husky, if you notice he doesn't pull the leash, he gently tugs on it just enough to get his attention (the correction should only slightly move the shoulders of the dog). The collar he is using is a training collar (more commonly known as a choke collar -though, like i said, will not hurt the dog if used properly).
I have a husky....shes beautiful difficult alert smart and sneaky lol..but so adorable...I love this dog but training her is a hard deal she is so stubborn and loves to eat my house......the collar your using seems to help yours going to check into this and while we give her treats she still is difficult to train properly...never ever ever let her go she got loose once and omg...she bounced around the whole neighborhood the kid loved it and love her but so scarey...thanks for the tips
@saffyre00 This trainer seems to be using a check-collar for his Sibe. I use the same for mine -- very effective. But DO read up on how to use this collar. They have to be put on the dog correctly AND positioned correctly (high under the jaw, as this trainer has done, not low around the base of the neck). If you do those two things, you will only need to make VERY small adjustments. The goal with this collar is to CHECK the behavior, not choke the dog.
My father loves wolves and every time he sees a picture of a wolf or an image of a wolf he just stares at it, it's like he was a wolf in his previous life or something ;-)
Anyway, if I showed up with your dog in front of him he wouldn't let the dog go. He would pamper and play with it all day for the rest of his life LOL
i have two husky/greman shepard puppies there 9 weeks old now and i was wondring if they will be okay off leash. because i know huskys can be a little funny thankyou for the video it was awesome
@123muzzie123 My room mate has a Sheperd husky mix that we always let off leash walking in the woods and such, but he'll chase small animals still, so you have to wait for him to come back sometimes. In public I wouldn't risk it at all.
Mind you the dog I speak of has no formal training, he just doesnt wanna run away :P
it wasnt good of training tips BUT, i love your dog he/she is verrrrry beautiful i have a siberian husky as well i love those dogs my dad had a passion for them...and now i do ahha i looooveee husky's oh and i have a alasken malamute that is a pure bread thts white (: ahha
igot a husky as a gift he is having trouble house training he knows go to bed, sit, lay down, shake at 5 months old. how long will it take to house brake him?i take him out 5 times a day but he will hold it in his crate for 6 hours. if he goes on the floor we take him out right after he finishes cuz if we try to move him he just walks and pees, any sugestions? i bought him a treadmill to run on and he loves to run on it because i live in florida and most of the time during the summer its to hot.
Pinch collars and choke collars are cop-out training methods for those without the patience to train the dog correctly. Huskies don't respond well to harsh methods (as they will either shut down or react aggressively), and this guy's version of "heel" was a stumbling beginner.
Be patient, use a head collar if you have trouble controlling the dog at first rather than a pinch--the head collar pulls the nose down when he pulls and puts the dog in a better mindset than a painful pinch collar.
The pack theory of leadership is very outdated in dog training. This guy is just spouting Ceasar Milan or some other uneducated person who calls themselves a trainer.
My Husky is great, listens well exept when it comes to walking. She pulls on the leash like crazy. I have tried the gentle lead leash( she figured out if she pulls enough it comes off), food as a motivator, tugging on the coller, and nothing. Any suggestions?
if you're strong, just walk and once shes pulling harder than you'd like, just stop moving. they'll basically figure out that they need to not pull very hard if they want to go anywhere
I never used to like pinch collars but thats what worked for me. Just use it properly and combine that with fijijonstay's suggestion to maintain control of the walk.
@wolfboynyc she is doing much better now, I used treats and stopping when she pulls, but shes only that good with me..lol. Maybe we will try a pinch collar. Thanks:)
@11visionary11 everytime she pulls then stop and reward with a treat when she comes back. if that method dosent work then keep a treat by her nose the whole time for a bout 10 seconds. then reward. then go longer than 10 and long and so on and so forth. if that method is not working CONSIDER a pinch collar. they worked for my friends dog. but please be patient and figure out some more methods. mail me on my youtube for more info
take him to a vet if he says its ok than it is...
try giving him food that has more calories than the usual one you give him...
it may just have fast metabolism and burn everything he eats, so consult a pet doctor he will give you a diagnose if there's something wrong with the dog and will tell you how to treat it
Study shows dogs aren't much related to wolves.

@joklangpwns actually,I'm pretty sure 98-99% DNA in dogs is shared by wolves. So I would say they're pretty closely related

Husky's and malamutes are no closer to wolves than chihuahua, regardless of their similar appearance to wolves. Do some actual research.

@saffyre00 they are working dogs and need tonnes of exercise if you want a happy obedient husky. They respect a worthy pack leader.
