We could only read 15% of the Japanese codes by mid 1941. There is no way FDR knew about the attack before hand. The Japanese fleet kept strict radio silence several Japanese officers that were part of the attack fleet confirm this. Plus US public anger would be pointed at Japan not Germany.

I have always known that WWII was pushed onto US. With out the war the US wouldve gone bankrupt & FDR knew that. In fact his whole new deal was failing. As far as other countries leaving US alone, I dont buy that one. For one thing Hitler was planning a South American invasion & Japan was out there hunting for resources. Alaska wouldve been the first target rather then the next to start the war off.
