Yeah sort of, but if you watch all the episodes, you'll find out later on why he acts that way. He changes a bit too and you'll realize that he's really a good guy. :) It's just that he's troubled.

Everyone always asks "why did it have to end?" but I think one of the reasons this show was so great is the way it ended. Probably one of the best shows to ever grace TV.

The actors on this show remind me so much of kids I went to junior high and high school with over 20 years ago. Freaks and Geeks was a one of a kind show.

This scene was one of my favorite parts of the show. I love how this series started with a comedic take on the stereotypical characters that everyone knew in school, but every episode, these characters became more complex and realistic. By the last episodes, the show had become a unique comedy mixed with the drama of the developed characters, who were all played by great actors and actresses.

It sucks that the show only survived one season.

I AGREE! At first I struggled with the Freaks' bad habits but when they started showing why they acted that way (Kim's broken home/Daniel's insecurity/Nick's overbearing father/Ken's neglectful parents) I grew to love them. I also loved Bill and Neil's struggle with their fathers. Gosh, this was a great show.....

I felt that this was the most accurate representation of high school ever done. Freaks and Geeks was fresh, original, and funny without having to go over the top. It dealt with issues without smacking you over the head with the message. So... of course the television executives, in their infinite wisdom, had to cancel it. Money-grubbing morons the lot of them.

This scene is classic. The standard teen dramedy would have the cliched cool guy pick on the nerdy, fragile D&D kid. But Freaks & Geeks flips the script. We learn that the tough guy has weaknesses and vulnerabilities and is insecure like everyone else. The on-the-surface-badass is really a nice guy who begrudgingly respects Harris for getting good grades and for his self-assuredness. The smart writing and rich characterizations - laced with nuanced comedy - is what sets this show apart.

Read the novel, THE OUTSIDERS, by S.E. Hinton, that the movie w/ the same name is based on. It's SO good, and much better than the film. Hinton wrote it while she was a teen. I enjoy "Freaks And Geeks" (THE BREAKFAST CLUB)!!
