Wilbert is probably severely depressed seeing his Eagles haven't won a championship even 30 years has past since his run? lol 1960 is a depressing year for suicidal fans.
Didn't the Eagles where their away jerseys at home so that the Cowgirls had to wear their "unlucky" home jerseys? If so, why don't all teams do that?! It seems to work.
some teams do....really only happens against the cowboys who love their white jerseys....but i'm not sure about the winning percentages.....Notre Dame used to wear a green jersey every couple of years and for a long time they were unbeaten in their lucky green.
actually to correct myself on one thing in my last post those top 2 rushing records were held until January 4 1986(not 1983)in a divisional game where Eric Dickerson (Rams)ran for 248 yards in a 20-0 blowout vs who else Dallas!!
@stratman1512 theres a team thats lost 19 times in the playoffs since 1966? Who else the Eagles! lol Dallas has won 5 Super Bowls, you aint won jackshit! lol Dallas has 21 division titles in the Super Bowl era, your toilet bowl franchise has 7? lol HOLA!!! lol
Actually the NFL post season record for yards up until and after that game was 196 yards by who else but another great eagle running back Steve Van Buren which he got in the 1949 championship game. so until 1983 the top 2 post season rusing games were Steve Van bBuren and Wilbert Montgomery 194 yards.
Wilbert was still being taped up in the Eagles locker room when the pre game player introductions were made because he was not supposed to play because not only could he not run this guy could not even walk!! it was typical wilbert the Eagles knew they needed him to play to win and play he did with 194 yards including a 55 yard run in the 4th quater where wilberts legs gave out on hm on about the Cowgirl 30 with Monty's speed he would of certainly added another 30 yards to the 194 for a t.d.
Cold wind,Danny White had no passing success. This would be dubbed the "Blue Jersey Bowl" because of the Cowboy superstition of sporting the Royal Blue Jersey. 20-7 was the final....I'm still pissed for the bad Dallas performance that cold day, 27 years later.
Yeah, I don't think so my man. The 2004 Eagles made the Super Bowl without their Star Reciever (yes the great T.O. aka f---wad) and they made the playoffs so far 6/7 years in this decade.
The 1980 Eagles also got whooped in SUPER BOWL XV to a team they barely beat in the regular season.
However, I won't argue 1980 was a great year in sports for Philadelphia.
true and the eagles were the favorite to beat the raiders that year in im the 2004 superbowl the pats were the favorite and the eagles came close to winning the only lost by 3 points
true all 4 of the major sports teams (Eagles Sixers Phillies & Flyers) all made it to the Final no tother city ever had all of there teams make it the same year
The 42 yard TD run by Wilbert Montgomery in the 1980 nfc championship game is the greatest moment of my life. Its remarkable to think wilbert got 197 yards in that game while suffering 7 different injuries any one of those 7 injuries he had during the championship game would have kept any mere mortal out of the game. Thankyou wilbert
Best Eagles Running Back Ever! And by the way Chicago - Bergey was better than Butkisser.

A great play. The Andy Reid Eagles were not even close to the 1980 team.
