The people I have met in college have some parents who also went and some who didnt. And for the ones that do listen and believe Beck on a regular basis, they had one thing in common with a few exceptions: no college degree. Also, maybe you should learn what a synonym is. Actually, a Marxist state has never existed. You are talking about extreme Leninism (what most people call Communism) when it comes to equal distribution of wealth. In Marxist theory, there would be democratic control over infrastructure. This, unfortunately, is an issue with many Americans. The Cold War propaganda has led to the melding of the terms: Marxist, Communist, Socialist. These terms are not at all synonymous and Beck obviously doesn't know the difference.

Yes, I'm for real. As far as a nation's internal freedoms or external actions, economics does not come into play. Colombia, U.S., Sweden, Russia, etc. These are all capitalist economies. Some with more social programs than others but vastly different internal freedom and foreign policy. But I shouldn't have said nothing. Capitalist countries tend to be more internationalist and socialist countries tend to be more nationalist whent it comes to foreign policy. That's about it.

Look....I have a degree in political science from UT Austin. I've actually read Marx, I've actually studied Lenin, Trotsky, and the Bolshevik Revolution. Lenin abused Marx's works to seize power. He never believed in them. Karl Marx does not have the negative connotation in Europe as he has in the U.S. Marxism was used as "positive propaganda." There is nothing in Marx's writings that condones authoritarianism or mass murder. But you haven't read any of his writings.

capitalism. It turned out later that he considered the problems with the
pricing to be unsolvable and proposed a totally different doctrine. Which is
the same with capitalism as far as its goals... no one can control the market

Instead he created a whole new system communism. Communism is a very difficult system to implement and it takes stages. So all the countries called communistic were just existing socialistic if the term is correct. Meaning that the people working in the industries, schools etc had conferences and gave the amounts of products they needed for next year which were then forwarded to the central government for actual production.

The people I have met in college have some parents who also went and some who didnt. And for the ones that do listen and believe Beck on a regular basis, they had one thing in common with a few exceptions: no college degree. Also, maybe you should learn what a synonym is. That is what I have done/ plan to do that I can think of off the top of my head. Obviously we are both very intelligent people, but that does not changed what I have observed in my life. Actually, a Marxist state has never existed. You are talking about extreme Leninism (what most people call Communism) when it comes to equal distribution of wealth. In Marxist theory, there would be democratic control over infrastructure. This, unfortunately, is an issue with many Americans. The Cold War propaganda has led to the melding of the terms: Marxist, Communist, Socialist. These terms are not at all synonymous and Beck obviously doesn't know the difference.

It is not the same as Marxism due to the fact that there was no "dictatorship of the proletariat", laid out in Marx's "Communist Manifesto" which I'm sure you've read. Leninism was a bastardized form of Communism. It was essentially extreme socialism with authoritarian rule. I'm discussing political schemas, not the behaviors of individuals.

Well, Karl Marx never killed anyone. His political concepts were bastardized by people like Vladimir Lenin in order to create a brutal, authoritarian regime. So, you don't want to learn anything? You want to continue to be misinformed? I find that rather sad. However, mass murder takes place in any political system. Nazi Germany and Mussolini's Italy were capitalist regimes. U.S. and British foreign policy have also supported incredibly brutal governments.

Yes, I'm for real. As far as a nation's internal freedoms or external actions, economics does not come into play. Colombia, U.S., Sweden, Russia, etc. These are all capitalist economies. Some with more social programs than others but vastly different internal freedom and foreign policy. But I shouldn't have said nothing. Capitalist countries tend to be more internationalist and socialist countries tend to be more nationalist whent it comes to foreign policy. That's about it.

Also, you might want to brush up on Third Reich economics. The private sector thrived. I.G. Farben, Bayer, Siemens, Bavarian Motor Works, Daimler Benz, and Opel are only a few examples of companies that thrived. In fact, The Communists were the first group the Nazis targeted in 1933-34, before they seized power. I can't think of one respected historian who would claim Nazi Germany did not have a capitalist economy. Please name one of you can.

Look....I have a degree in political science from UT Austin. I've actually read Marx, I've actually studied Lenin, Trotsky, and the Bolshevik Revolution. Lenin abused Marx's works to seize power. He never believed in them. Karl Marx does not have the negative connotation in Europe as he has in the U.S. Marxism was used as "positive propaganda." There is nothing in Marx's writings that condones authoritarianism or mass murder. But you haven't read any of his writings.
