As a 17-y/o aspiring bassist, you are a huge inspiration. Just curious, how old are you and when did you start? How often a day would you say you practice? I love your stuff, man, keep it up
Glad you like my playing! I'm 23, and I started playing bass when I was about 12. Honestly, I don't practice nearly as much as I should / would like to. Used to practice much more when I was starting out.
Working for 9.50 a hour full time, one could make around 17280 dollars a year. As long as one saves his money and does not waste it, a wonderful Ken Lawrence could easily be attainable.
I probably doubt GBagley has kids to feed either. Ah well. Money is money.
I make more than that now, but fyi: I bought this Ken Lawrence when I was 17, after saving literally all my money from a summer job working for minimum wage. It was the first high-end bass I ever bought, and it's still my #1!
Kind of inspirational. I wish i had the patience and discipline to save my money like that. Actually, i do, i just need to focus! Fender Jazz for now, but a Kinal Custom Eventually!
Is your job legal? Jeez, I wish I had your kind of money. I've wanted to learn to play bass for many years, but I'm not allowed to get a job, and we don't really have enough money to spend $150 on a really cool bass learners kit I found... Lucky me :D
Great skills and licks, but I highly recommend you to use a loop station or a (bit more complex) MIDI file to add some chords; it gives much more sense to the music, keeps it coherent and helps you transmit a much more soulful message.
Thanks. I've messed around with loop pedals before but never really got into them. This is just improvised stuff, but once I start really working on an album I'll get more into layering like that.
dude, that is very cool. i wish the audio was a little better. youve mastered harmonics, pinched harmonics, dtuner, 3 finger. your speed and precision.... wow, i wish i could..... i look forward to seeing more from you.
O shit! i was watching this and i didn't see that it was you and i was listening and I was like "This sounds like GBagley's style and then i was like it can't be because first of all, I can see him, lol. But then I saw that it was lmao.
It's a Hipshot d-tuner peg. Allows me to easily drop the E string down to a B. You can adjust it to drop the low string anywhere from a half-step to a fourth (in my case) down.
You can do it yourself, it's pretty easy. You just have to get the right model, one that will properly fit as a replacement for your current tuner. Then you just have to swap it out for the d-tuner. You can get them for around $80 or so.
They're made by Phil Jones Bass. It's just a 'standard' model that the company makes. Only 100W, but they're very high quality and sound awesome! Check 'em out!
It's an internal lead acid battery. I haven't done any real testing with the battery in a gig situation, but the manual says it'll typically last about an hour before needing a charge. Depends on how loud you're playing though. You can hook it up to an external battery too.
Great job! Those Phil jones sounds amazing, and that bass does too. It does sound somewhat out of tune though. Like some octaves have a bunch of waves
pretty smooth playing! i like it ! oh.... and a great instrument! :)

He's a trust fund baby. He just goes online with daddy's credit card and orders whatever musical gear he wishes from Bass NW in Seattle.
The only "job" that could possibly pay for all this gear at his age is selling cocaine by the ounce.

And thanks for giving details, like the string type and the rig used.
