You do this professionally?? How come you dont use a vice and a shaft clamp??? Plus the use of a tape removal tool and a hooked blade (far safer than using a scalpel) Believe me it really quickens up the task. I was an assisstant pro in my late teens and I have now got a proper workshop for doing such jobs.
The purpose of this video was for a golf website I'm on that I did for the members there to instruct them on how they can regrip their clubs at home. I used things that common people would have floating around their household instead of my tools.
Try using 2" grip tape. Also, take the tee out of the grip before installing it. The tee is holding air in the grip creating pressure inside preventing you from pushing the grip on easily.
I use 3/4 inch grip tape because that is my preferred method and the method I was taught at the Golfworks academy. I was also shown to leave the tee in in order to contain all of the solvent in the grip and that removing it after sliding the grip on expunges the additional solvent that would otherwise have to evaporate.
I put way more solvent on than that and my grip gets stuck in the middle every time i do it

Shit you suck. I'd be pissed if you did my grip like that. Skimping on tape like that.

The cost of the grips plus tape and solvent. You can do it in your home for the cost of the grips plus $7 for supplies.

are you using double sided sticky tape rather than specialised grip tape?
What was the result like as I want to do this myself...
OwzatOllie 3 years ago
The result was perfect as it usually is in the 1000 or so regripping I do annually for people.
