Fullmetal Alchemist has made me cry and laugh time and time again no matter how many times I watch it. Everytime I listen to this song or Bratja I can't help but cry. I have a younger brother and watching this anime made me realize how much I love my family.
@Nejifangal1 i toataly agree with that it';s the same thing with me, my little brother and i are always fighting but watching this anime has made me realize just howimprotant he is to me
FMA was life changing. It might sound odd but I am not ashamed of my statement. The depth and meaning of the story and the life lessons to be learned: brotherly love, the pursuit of knowledge, and the pursuit of happiness. Not to mention the soundtrack which brings you to such heightened levels of emotion. This story reminds us all the more of how human we are, and that all good things come to an end.
This songs real name is Etude Op. 10 No. 3 (Tristesse) by Frederic Chopin. Look it up and tell me I'm wrong. Look up: Chopin-Etude no. 3 in E major, Op. 10 no. 3, "Tristesse".
@6atekeeper For so long I've been wondering how Michiru Oshima has gotten away with copying the first movement of Chopin's Etude Op. 10 No.3. It makes me sad to think that people have most likely given the credit to him for this beautiful piece over the years when Chopin deserves the majority of it. That being said, this is an absolutely gorgeous "Arrangement" of Chopin's Etude Op. 10 No. 3 (Tristesse). I am glad however classical music has been spread through the beautiful art form of animé.
@drunkinsamurai Public Domain. It means us composers can use these beautiful songs. Any true fan of music will know where it is originally from - or at least know to look it up when they listen to it enough. =) (Also, Michiru Oshima is a pretty lady~ XP)

@CharropandaKun I do the exact same thing :D it got me into classical music. anime is so rich and beautiful. you'r right anime and manga is modern art of the finest genre.
@BaraYaoiManga It actually plays in both parts during the final episode. First when Envy ends up in front of the Gate, along with Edward's soul there. The tune stopped the moment the Gate closed with Envy inside it.
Afterwards it is then used in Hohenheim's timeline in London and throughout his conversation with Edward before he leaves to Germany to research about rockets, thinking it'll be another way to reach to the Gate and get back to his world.
sure envy was a sadistic bastard, especially for killing huges, but i guess i kinda feel sorry for him. he was envious of edward and alphonse for getting the fatherly love that envy himself never got.
Whenever I hear this I just think of a post WW1 Europe. And how Edward made a new goal: To reach outer space. Just seems like an appropriate song for that.
Hey! Did you know they played this same song on an episode of One Piece? I heard it playing in episode 46 of the Funimation dubb. I was SO surprised! Don't believe me? Go see for yourself! I love this song SO much, it even helped inspire one of my Music App. projects
