  • I feel bad for all the people who bought the game right before the sale

  • best game of 2011

  • Fuck Steam. They wait for me to buy the fucking game then they put it on sale! FUCKING CUNTS!

  • @An7iSocial92 So you're mad at steam because you bought the game and then it went on sale? Grow up dude.

  • @rawnzii Well I bought it for 70 bux off steam to find out two hours later its going for 25 bux so yeah I kinda have a right to get mad...It's more bad luck but w.e...fuck steam for taking too long to put it on sale.

  • @An7iSocial92 Are you retarded?

  • I came to this review bc I saw 10$ on steam right now.

  • @MORDEKAIZ Exactly the same for me! I also started playing the original one for this occasion!

  • @xboxman333 how u liking it so far?

  • @MORDEKAIZ It's really good! A great game!

  • @MORDEKAIZ me too man I just got it and it's really good

  • @MORDEKAIZ Yeah I just beat it after buying it a day and a half ago while it was on sale on steam

  • Talks about Italian Renaissance *shows Icarus reference* also its 10 bucks on steam!

  • This didn't get the praise that is deserved

  • lol their ship is a whale

  • It's really just a game where you can shoot things, but not a shooter! LOL

  • should I buy it at 10$ on steam?

  • @etwisabeta 10!!!!!!!!!! its on sale for 23 USD in Australia thats bullshit where you live?

  • $10 on steam right now :)

  • i despise this game with a passion...

  • @theshwingbatty cool. go cry about it.

  • so is it worth getting o-o

  • @juanparamo1271 Well...

    Are you into roleplaying games?

Are you into the whole "Sci Fi" setting?

Are you dedicated enough to go through the difficulty?

    If so... DEFINATELY worth getting!

  • @Splashy151 well i loved fall out 3 and new vegas :3

  • @juanparamo1271 It's alot different to the bethesda games.

I still reccomend you try it.

  • Killuminati!

  • i didnt really like rpgs, until i played this...

  • @R4MBO999 Rpgs? lolwut? You mean FPSRPG?

  • @TiredTigerCAG Espionage*

  • @TiredTigerCAG

    hahaa you could say that

  • @TiredTigerCAG Deus Ex isnt a FPS, i played it in third person :o

  • Boss fights really ruined this game for me.

  • Comment removed

  • the shadow and lightning are not good but the atmosphere in the game is realy good.

  • damn mouse gestures i have to watch the advertisement again :(

  • I hate Nicholas Cage.

  • the original is one of my faveourite games , big game too, really different at the time for a console release..

  • Such a transparent reviewer. He clearly didn't actually see all of the Italian Renaissance while playing, I'd bet a limb that he just saw one of the many interviews where the art director mentions it and thought "Hey, I can extrapolate this to half a page."

And then he says "I'll spare you the art lesson" as though he's some kind of scholar.

  • @dajman15 You never know, he might know something about art.

  • @MrJuiceize

    ....IGN reviewer.

  • @dajman15 You never know...

  • @dajman15 takes one to know one ;)

  • @dajman15 *insert arrogant Youtube comment response here

  • The two things I hate is that the endings are not that rewarding I only killed like 14 people including bosses and you don't get the choice to keep your augmentations from your last playthrough in a new game

  • @DemonXY2J Why is YouTube full of trolling little things like you? Seriously find something better to complain about.

  • damn such a boring reviewer fire that guy geez

  • I love this game but at times it is brutally hard at times

  • ONLYUSEMEBLADE IS THAT YOU????

  • Wow I saw a trailer for this game a longgg time ago, and i forgot about it. After listening to the review I can't help but think that there was a lot more of the games negatives being discussed rather than the positives and how it managed a 9.0 I don't know.

I mean for one graphics isn't an issue for me but this game is the exception. The lackluster graphics, FPS issues, bad voice acting, and other technical issues are a few reasons why I'm gonna pass on this game.

    my 2 cents

  • @awesomesauce0001 The bad voice acting is the signature charm!

Did you learn nothing from Deus Ex 1? Did you never get your orange soda?

  • this game is awesome

  • This game is amazing, great graphics, great action, engrossing story, definetly one of the best games of 2011!

  • @Ph0be the graphics were the only thing i didnt like

they looked a little old but everything else i completely agree

  • @KILLERxWAFFLZ Really? I thought the graphics were pretty unique

  • @Ph0be The graphics themselves weren't that great but the design and art was awesome

  • @Ph0be i found the black on yellow art style (i think thats what your refering to (maybe))

    is unique

the art style was beautiful but the graphics looked a little dated but not too dated

still deus ex is an amazing game

  • This game is awesome I just got my platinum trophy :)

  • boy dxhr looks fuking horrible on consoles

  • When does he get those wings?

  • @TheQuantumSoldier It's a dream.

  • I loved Blade Runner, should I buy this game?

  • . I felt like I was rewarded for doing what I thought was morally right. Like the first augmented mission; saving everyone felt satisfying. And the praise from NPCs was enough to reward me. Given the option to be lethal or non-lethal is something I think many other RPG's should certainly pickup. IThe story, combined with immersive graphics and stealthy gameplay is wonderful, but ithe game itself is all the more interesting if you can actually see how close man kind is to this kind of future.

  • @TheFearedAssassin ur an idiot

  • @sportsfiend12 - sorry about that, that was my damn brother. really gonna sort him out

  • Not...enough...FUCKING AMMO!!!!!

  • @cplhicks4744 You're supposed to use melee as much as possible in this game lol. Trust me, just hide, wait, single them out, then run up and hold Q. The other enemies won't shoot while you're in the killing animation so don't worry.

  • I like randomely using takedowns on innocent people + awsome and long game. The one thing that sucked is that on the second playthrough I can't keep my augmentations and be badass from the start.

  • one of the best games ive ever played. but the original deus ex is still the best.

  • @KakaStaynz how?

  • what would happen to him if an emp went off

  • @101cgk if an emp went off jensen would be dazed just like if he is hit with an emp grenade his aguments run of jensen himself as well as a power source inside him whic is protected from damage like emps

  • IGN u can lickmy balls with choice illusion the choice is there all u need to do is figure how to use everything u can at the right moment that goes for boss battles too

  • is there an ign review for the first deus ex?

  • @TheTheliked

in they're website but no video

  • This game would have been on my all time classics list...but three things kept it from doing that. 1. Horrid character models( Eidos should be ashamed for putting these PS2 models in there game) 2. Hacking! I hate hacking in any game but especially in this , it was pointless overly complicated and just plain frustrating 3. Boss fights ( complete mess) . And I have question if this game only takes place 15 years from now why is everyone dressed like Star Trek and Matrix Extras?

  • @ZaneOneTwo hacking's easy in this game...But yeah, the bosses are terrible, GRIP Entertainment fucked up completely.

  • @ZaneOneTwo Haha, I love it when people are so pissed they exaggerate.

You don't like the mechanics in the game, we get it. That's fine and all, but the PS2 reference was a good laugh. Should have played it on *cough* dare I say *cough* Xbox 360 or PC instead of PS3. :p

  • @ZaneOneTwo Hacking was overly complicated? Really? I thought it was fine

  • The yellow tint makes this game so beautiful and unique.

  • @MrMarshmell0wman

    and futuristic

they did a good job on making the game look like it takes place in 3 decades

  • @MrMarshmell0wman GOLD tint

  • My review

Pros: Freedom of Choice is awesome! Many ways to tackle a mission, Good Diffuculty, Gun play is nice, Augmentations are awesome, and you never feel that a Mission is impossible.

Cons: Starts out REALLY slow at the beginning but picks up around the first boss, It's WAY to much oriented towards stealth then gun play, Boss fights are boring, AI glitching out is somewhat common

    Overall: I'd say it gets a 4/5.

  • why isn't there top comments?

  • is this game like fallout?

  • @crackfloor no

  • Love the Stealht Action

  • @kira1888 is it a mainly stealth game? or fps, rpg or what. whats it like. this review didnt really tell much about gameplay

  • @jfl125 Its a fps with a ton of story. You dont have to pay much attention to the story to enjoy it but if you choose to, you will be happy. And being stealthy is only an option. It will get you more exp in the long run to do non leathal take downs but if you wana put holes in ppl the game wont exactly punish you for it either. I love this game. If you like fpc's with a good story you'll like this game to.

  • I wished the augmentations in this game were a little more exotic. The most basic augmentation you think of for a body part, is probably the augment available. For instance, legs: walk silently, arms: carry heavier objects. I liked the icarus landing system and the typhoon, but typhoon was lethal and that wasn't always the best choice.

  • im gonna buy this over the game rage. Good decision?

  • @Smokethagas420 nah buy rage its better trust me

  • @Smokethagas420 Yes! I have both. I like Rage but I love Deus Ex.

  • Should I get Dues Ex HR or mass effect 2 (for ps3)?

  • @viavip115 Considering mass effect isn't on PS3 I'd say deus ex.

  • @viavip115 well i can tell you mass effect 2 is a great game, very fun game with good story, i havent played deus ex yet, which is why im watching this vid right now. If you like space n going to different worlds fighting on them and seeing alien races n travelling on a starship get mass effect i believe mass effect 2 got higher review scores than this game

  • @viavip115 both are extremely good games ,but i would have to reccomend mass effect 2

  • @viavip115 I consider myself an avid gamer, and i have beat both mass effect 2 and deus ex:HR. Although Deus Ex is a fantastic game, Mass Effect 2 is my favorite game of all time. Easily. The depth is perfectly immersible and the gameplay is fluid and intuitive. You'll find yourself content in beating side-missions and all are different and equally rewarding. Theres so much you can do and many Star Wars-esque worlds to visit. Not to mention the voice acing is phenomenal.Mass Effect 2 all the way

  • @SkaLover257 its a shame that ME2 got streamlined so much that it basically became an action game rather than action-RGP like the first, sure the story is epic, but the gameplay is so easy and simple that it got boring after a while. I found myself speed playing through all action sequences just to get on with the story.

  • @bombingrun19 I see where you're coming from. At the time, it was something new and exciting for me. I found the worlds and missions to be appropriately vast. (if that makes any sense?) It was just able to satisfy my apetite for adventure. Playing as a soldier, I really enjoying picking and choosing ammo types. Streamlined, yes, but it worked wonders aside from occasional glitches IMO. Also, i played off and on so it didn't get tiring for me.

  • @SkaLover257 Yeah I mean the game is great overall but deus ex got the action RPG element down perfectly ever since the first game.

  • Thumbs up for KoolAid man!

  • This game's awesome. I just beat it on normal mode. There are so many different little side quests to do and Adam Jensen's a badass! I love punching the shit out of guys. Best part by far. I also really liked the boss battles (I thought they were one of the better parts of the game actually and not boring at all). One area I didn't care for though was the character development involved in plot elements. Choice is cool, but too much choice waters down the game somewhat. 9/10 is a good score.

  • @mopbrothers after i beat the game im gonna beat without killing anyone and not alerting anyone. Right now im half stealth half assault

  • @mopbrothers have u played the first deus ex? i bet if u did u would hate bosses since the first one let u choose to battle them or not and not caring for character development?!

  • @alldayskillzs I played the first Deus Ex and was dissappointed that there really were no boss battles. One shot with a rocket would destroy Walton Simons. Lame. The character development in both Deus Ex games is cool, but I'm just not a fan of Adam Jensen's relationships with other NPCs. They just don't play enough of a part in the plot relation to Jensen. It's not a bad thing, I just don't care for it. Bob Page was an exeception though. I liked his acting. He was a dick and needed to die.

  • @mopbrothers Here's a challenge: play the entire game again on normal or hard and use nothing but melee to kill/knockout all enemies(excluding robots and bosses).

  • awesome game

  • what does illusion of choice mean

  • @buzzmaster3D that the game fools you into thinking you can control the story

  • I was thinking about getting this game. Is it worth it?

  • @KingOfTheStrings66 very very worth it, ive played over 40 hours and the alt ending and that you can play it as a shooter or a stealth game is amazing, boss fights can be annoying but overall the game is amazing

  • @fatabe1 agreed the invisible SMG women i only because the game glitched and she didn't move resulting in her taking 18 shotguns shells to the face :D

  • @discodude48 lol same here i stunned her with an emp grenade and she just stood there going invisible and visible while i unleashed a barrage of shotgun shells. They say the boss in the missing link is much better and not annoying

  • The most annoying thing in this game is the lack of bullets you're given after you pick up an enemy's gun. When you pick it up you have like six bullets, but while you're fighting them they have infinite ammo.

  • @azerskater same here, most i find is 2-3 bullets from one person.

  • @azerskater You can BUY bullets and a LOT of shit in the game to upgrade your guns.

  • @MagnumBullets47 I realize this, but you can only carry so many bullets, and you can also only carry so many guns. It's annoying.

  • @azerskater Augmentations are your best tools gives you an advantage towards optional paths you can take. Guns and ammo only come handy for boss fights.

  • @azerskater WTF ? Do you prefer carrying only 2 shit guns, like Call of Duty ?

  • @MagnumBullets47 Hahaha calm down dude. It's only video games. And all I'm saying is it's annoying to run out of bullets in bigger fights

  • @azerskater ONLY VIDEOGAMES ?? IT´S MY FUCKING LIFE!! I´m just kidding, i know what you´re saying. : )

  • I love Mass Effect 2 and I don't really like rpg genre. Will I like this game? Please answer!

  • @khant2008

definitely. I love the Mass Effect games and Deus Ex is very similar, except that it's an FPS and that the combat is very varied.

  • @khant2008 You can't use Mass Effect as a reference. ME is very gun heavy. In Deus Ex, the game actually penalizes you for using guns.

  • @khant2008 you will like it

  • hate how all the people who say they 'hate' bf3 and mw3 when they always play it and just cause someone dosnt like it they agree as they have no opinion themselves

  • @UniqueYoga i hate mw3 and i dont play it....

  • @UniqueYoga probably never will....

  • My friend has this for PC and man if you have an amazing PC then this game is extremely beautiful. It doesn't compare to BF3 but its still good looking.

  • @mtehreaper People like you are like little temper-tantrum riddled children the CoD series is not that bad...

  • i just got assasins creed revelations, beat it in a couple days and it is boring as fuck. dont get it, im gonna trade mine in for this game

  • looks kinda boring

  • You talk about boring and iffi voice acting however with your voice you nearly put me too sleep, seriously, get someone else to do these videos because this guy's voice defines the word boring.

  • I like this guy, how about we use him to review everything and stop using the prepubescent-sounding kids?

  • I think this game is amazing

  • i got hl2 for 100 bucjd

  • Gotta show French respect for this spectacular game!

  • @fan977

Thanks man, gonna pick this up.

  • This game kicks some serious fuckin ass I just finished it today and it was awesome. Whoever says it's boring needs to go play there gay ass CoD shit.

  • DE:HR>Metal Gear Solid 4

  • @samuelrosenbalm i don't think so

  • @DaendyrProductions So you think MGS4 in all of it's console glory beats out DEHR?

  • @samuelrosenbalm I don't think that.... I know that

  • @DaendyrProductions And since you're someone of stature whose opinion is fact, and what you say goes, then it must be true!

    *chuckles*

    Not.

  • @samuelrosenbalm It's not just me, it's a lot of other players + gamespot, ign, game informer, game pro etc. Sorry man, but you lose

  • @DaendyrProductions Have you played the PC version of DEHR?

    If not, then you lose.

    Out, that is.

  • @samuelrosenbalm Oh don't worry, I've played the pc version. And it still doesn't match up to MGS4.

  • @DaendyrProductions Well, I think Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a deeper, more satisfying experience than MGS4.

I play DEHR maxed out and it certainly looks a lot better than MGS4, also.

  • @samuelrosenbalm Of course it looks a lot better than MGS4, it came out in 2008!

  • @DaendyrProductions MGS4 came out nearly 4 years ago, though. Of course it will get higher ratings as it was better for its time, but now that it's 2012... I'd say Deus Ex is better, disregarding any time differences. Perhaps some people still hold your opinion, but I suspect they're the minority. It's like saying because Doom got higher ratings in 1993 than Skyrim this year, that Doom is better currently. Just an example, not sure if it's true. Sorry, but you lose.

  • @FUUAAAAAAAARRRRKKKKK The story in MGS4 is soooooo much better, boss fights are good, music in the game is absolutely phenomenal and it has multiplayer. It's one of the best games ever, with one of the best stories ever. That is why MGS4 is better.

    Cheers

  • @DaendyrProductions The story? The story was slow and uneventful. I was 10 fucking hours in and only had two decent moments in MGS4. DEHR had consistently badass moments throughout it. MGS4's story seemed a bit too trivial for my tastes as well.

    >And implying I don't like DEHR because of Story and Gameplay and would prefer MGS4 in those two regards.

    Not at all.

  • Comment removed

  • @FUUAAAAAAAARRRRKKKKK Deus Ex was boring, MGS4 was fun. End of story

  • @DaendyrProductions Yes, your fucked opinion on games is clearly factual. I must be lying to myself by saying Deus was entertaining. And no, I'm not serious, so you don't have to try and confirm what I'm being sarcastic about to be the stupid fuck you are. MGS4 was, as I said, uneventful, boring, and frustrating at parts. No, I am not unskilled or bad at the game, as you would probably imply. Can you even make a valid argument anymore?

  • @FUUAAAAAAAARRRRKKKKK What the fuck is wrong with you? Can't you respect someone's opinion? I'm sick of you telling me that deus ex is better when, in my book, it's clearly not better. It's boring, and ridiculous. When you pick up a weapon you get 3 bullets, and yet the weapon is fully loaded. So don't tell me this fucked up game is better, when it clearly isn't. Just because you can't enjoy a good story doesn't mean other normal people can't.

  • @DaendyrProductions "Deus Ex was boring, MGS4 was fun. End of story" The fuck is that for respecting opinions? My whole reply was about you stating that in a factual manner and implying that IS how the game is regardless of who plays it. I didn't attempt to deny you the right to have a shitty opinion on games, or try to convince you otherwise. Stop trying to state your dumbfuck opinion factually. The minority in this argument is your position, if it wasn't obvious enough.

  • @DaendyrProductions By boring if you're referring to stealth- perhaps you should reevaluate your playstyle, and MGS4 isn't exactly that HOLY SHIT MASSIVE ACTION game you seem to deem perfect. You are entitled to your opinion, but don't try to say things that are based on opinion are fact, as in this game being fucked up.

Or do you actually think there's such thing as a factual opinion by saying this game clearly isn't better? I wouldn't doubt it.

  • @FUUAAAAAAAARRRRKKKKK I NEVER said MGS4 is perfect, get your facts straight. I just said it was better than Deus Ex... Is that SO fucking hard to believe and understand?

  • @DaendyrProductions Try to read things again. Apparently you don't know English very well, because I said MGS4 ISN'T a game full of action, like what you seem to deem perfect by your apparent heavy reliance on action. To believe? Try rewording things a couple times before you send them, because that sounds like you think you gave sufficient opinionated views to me to convince me it's better, when I've played both.

  • @FUUAAAAAAAARRRRKKKKK And I never said half of the things you said now. And no, by boring I do not mean stealth, stealth was actually kind of good. Everything else was boring. And since you can't understand that, and the fact that I'm sick of this conversation, I will back off and respect your opinion, nevertheless you don't respect mine.

  • Comment removed

  • @DaendyrProductions You did say half of the things I said you did. You did not say "I" anywhere in your comments when saying it was a bad game, implying it was factual. Are you that dumb to try to say you didn't state your opinions factually after all that? Clearly you SHOULD re-evaluate your playstyle, since this is NOT just MGS4 and shouldn't be played like it. There are similarities, but they should not be compared; they're different. Very much so.

  • @FUUAAAAAAAARRRRKKKKK What are you expecting me to do? I'm not replaying this game again, because I still think it's crap. I gave this game multiple chances, and it still sucks. I'm sorry.

  • @DaendyrProductions Not to be rude but, If you dont like it then why come here and have a discussion with another person , about another game? :s , and the ammo "issue" its for gameplay purposses... its not a frantic first person shooter, its a stealth based, fps game with rpg elements.

  • @matheusrinaldi2 right on dude
