Religious preachers fuss about apostles and prophets not being for today but they themselves do not cast out demons, prophesy, heal the sick, etc they dont know what GOD is doing today so they fight what GOD is doing and restoring. We are specifically taught through earthly examples
1 Foundations, then it is explained NEVER to be laid again (not ongoing activity)

3 Prophets and it is explained (ongoing as prophecied in the NT)

If the 5 fold is not continuous in the bible isn't the Pastor and Teacher and Evangelist not apart of the 5 fold?

@Bchristlike7 I never said you said that. MY point was, and you seem to not be able to understand, is that there was only ONE replacemente of the apostle's office prophecied and that happened, as proof, when the other died out, one by one, there was NO replacement
None mentioned after the fact, none mentioned in prophecy
Oh and it also says live peacably with all men as much as it lies within you and rebuke them sharply and ignore the heretick after correcting him

Apostles are for today and for those who think they are not must really not believe in Prophets, Pastors or Teachers either. I guess GOD took 2 offices away and let the other 3 remain?!?!? GET real and get revelation. Even GOD created the government positions in the earth (Romans 13) so when a KING, President dies there office is not left open is it? GOD did not put Pastors and Bishops first to perfect the saints and until we all come into the UNITY of the faith. The gifts are 4 today people.

@servantjustsu That which is perfect is talking about Christ returning not the completion of the bible, isn't it something that even after 1 Cor 13:8-10 Paul also said in 1Cor 14:5 that he wished that they all prophesied because it edified the body. It is amazing that all the Apostles who wrote the NT all spoke in tongues and prophesied in their day and age so look at the world today and you say we do not need the manifestations of GOD's Spirit, do you do Mark 16:17 It is time to switch churchs

@servantjustsu If you do need Apostles or Prophets then you do not need evangelists Pastors or teachers either. Apostles were 1st not Pastors or Teachers and you certainly do not believe in the fullness of Jesus Christ who IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. Muslims are seeing Jesus in dreams and visions, so you mean to say GOD can not raise up Apostles today? Study study study, Church's that believe apostles are not for today lack in dealing with demons and lack in hearing from the SPIRIT of GOD.

The bible tells us that the Apostles were the FOUNDATION of the church, and that no man can lay again THAT FOUNDATION!
They had a relationship with god in that office that is not needed today.
They did not have a codified, established doctrine
They WERE living gospels who, near the end of their lives, DID give us the solid WRITTEN doctrines
All who go out today use the bible, not just getting the new word directly from God!

@buzzbbird In that case when a president or a king dies then I guess in your view there should be no one to replace their office. When Judas died and you read the book of Acts in Chapter 1 and 2 you will see how the apostles saught GOD as to who would fill that empty office. If there are no apostle's today then there are certainly no pastor, evangelists, and teachers or prophets either. GOD set them in the church 1st Apostles and Prophets. You have to study it more.

Well that is a firm foundatiion, if ever there was one!
The ONE AND ONLY reason that the Apostles tried to fill the office of Judas, and it IS recorded WHY, is that it was prophecied that one WOULD take up his bishopric (Acts 1:20, Psalms 69)
The reason for the office of Apostle is fully given (Eph 2:20)
You are not allowed to put YOUR reasoning upon me and then go after me for it!
I DON'T NEED to agree if there are no apostles today that the others have vanished

@buzzbbird I am not resoning but stating the facts, again when a President or a King dies like the Apostles and Prophets and Evangelists and Pastors did in the NT does GOD allow the office to be left open until Jesus returns? Apostles are not Bishops, Ephe 2:20 shows that the saints are not perfected to do the work of the mininstry today so you need the 5 fold not the 1 fold to do it, this is GOD's governmental order in the church so you can not come against it. Even catholics reelect Popes.

@Bchristlike7 We are given instructions as to what makes a person eligible for the office of pastor, but not for apostle. the Apostles recopgnized each other's authority and office, but NEVER, once, did they mention others than themselves, not talk about a continuation or future Apostles
The ONLY mention of apostles other than themselves, in the WHOLE of the Bible is that of FALSE APOSTLES

@buzzbbird Philip the only Evangelist mentioned in the NT is gone now so I guess that means the office of Evangelist is gone to? The Prophets in the NT are gone so that means no more prophets even though Paul addressed the church of Corinth saying 1 Cor 14:37 "If anyone thinks he is a prophet or spritual...Are not all Apostles? Paul would not ask that since he already knew of the 12. Notice how Paul called Apostles and Prophets gifts of the Spirit as well so do you believe in spiritual gifts?
