  • Pink Floyd is my absolute favourite non-metal band. Every single member of that band is an absolute idol of mine, and there's truly not a lyric or a passage of music I don't know about(including "Cowboy Song" off of "Zabriskie Point") Yet having said that as..........DSOTM is easily their best album from begining to end. Hey there's a reason it holds the record for number 1 album of all time

  • IM SO BLAZED

  • There is a mental patient in a hospital running, trying to escape. The footsteps are him running down the hall, and the intercom is sending people out to look for him, hence the helicopters which try to find him, hence the evil wicked laugh of triumph...

  • @janisbliz I can see that

  • @janisbliz did you just called pink floyd's music techno ?

  • @Razorfane99 i love pink floyd in general but the mind opening powers of mary jane allow me to think deeper into the music and have the feeling from the song all at once, and that is why i enjoy it more xD

  • They used this track in an episode of the Venture Brothers.

  • Listening to this album while writing my college essay. Inspirational to say the least. HARVARD HERE I COME.

  • @DCSprousexAddict good luck w/ that

  • Comment removed

  • It feels like your on drugs listening to this, Pink Floyd mastered psychedelic rock

  • @morrowindsky yeah but drugs dont hurt they experience, not at all haha

  • @morrowindsky I wouldn't really call this a song, more a ride :).

  • @morrowindsky really you need this album to enjoy drugs..

  • It is a good trip and without drugs!!

  • @morrowindsky My thoughts exactly

  • This song gives me such an amazing feeling, you dont need drugs to enjoy it, 'ya know.

  • Thanks ThyDanny

  • Get stoned; listen to this at full volume, repeat. Rock on!

  • Notice how at the end of Breathe it says "Riding on the biggest wave/You race towards an early grave" and then goes right into this. Face paced. A man is running in the background and it ends with a jet taking off. It's like the guy has some hectic job that consumes his life and he was rushing to get on his plane. He's always "On The Run" trying to make money and meanwhile his life is just being twiddled away.

  • @Traxxasred

On the run was actually written about Richard wright's fear of flying.

  • @Traxxasred Also, the music video represents that

  • @Traxxasred That is awesome!! This whole album was about the things in life that can make people go crazy.

  • @Traxxasred Interesting analysis.

  • @Traxxasred get it? at the end he dies anyway

  • @Traxxasred

    LIE

  • @Traxxasred you are 90% correct; the song depicts a man running through an airport terminal to catch his plane, but he doesn't make it on time. luckily for him, the plane blows up after takeoff (the explosion at the end). when Floyd performed this set back in the day, they would blow up a plane on stage during this song

  • @Traxxasred

Dude, you just penetreated my mind.

  • @Traxxasred With a little of your favorite relaxation medication lay back and just listen. WOW!

  • DRUGZ ROOLZ BEIN SOBER DROOLZ!

  • i agree you dont need acid drugs to appreciate music

  • Ofc not...but they dont hurt the appreciation either. Live and let live, I say.

  • Yeah

  • Why does drugs always have to be mentioned with music? I don't get it?

  • cause drugs and music go hand and hand. especially this kind of music.

  • Yeah but I don't understand why people can't just listen to the music and appretiate it without needing drugs. Music like this is still fantastic without the use of drugs. If people wanna drop acid to it then fine but me personally I love the music the way it is :D

  • i agree, this music is still amazing completely clear headed. but i guess some people believe that music is better when high. idk

  • Although I can't say if it would be better trippin' or not cos I've never done acid so I can't say lol oh well still great music.

  • @Jcm9991

When you take acid you'll understand.

All I have to say, :D

  • Lol, if only I could get some...

    If only...

  • @Butzopower If you're gonna listen to pink floyd on acid make it Astronomy Domine off the ummagumma album. It made me leave this plane of existence for about 10 minutes

  • well music kinda is better when you're high lol. well with weed at least. I'd like to believe differently, but after smoking a blunt and then hearing something like Pink Floyd, you'll know exactly what I mean.

  • very true. Listen to this whole album while stoned. You will see stuff

  • @memphis148 am doing (y) =D

  • @Jcm9991 its great music, just 1000x better when ur high

  • @Jcm9991 do you really think thered be anything better than listening to this song on acid? thats what i thought!

  • @Jcm9991 You are 100% right about that but music and drugs have a symbiotic relationship, so one compliments the other whilst being independent at the same time. But still note that your comment is accurate.

  • @Jcm9991 music is my drug

  • @Jcm9991 some of us feel as if it allows us to connect with the mindset the artists had while writing the music during that certain substances induced effects, curiosity mostly

  • @Jcm9991 i believe is a matter of myth and custom rather than an actual enhancement. i can say that watching wiz of oz with this in the background is plenty trippy without the drugs.

  • @Jcm9991 How is this comment rated so high?

Who cares if you enjoy music on drugs or not. Besides, the drugs don't change the song just amplify it.

  • Roger waters never did any hallucinagenics, so you don't need to be off your head in order to create a masterpiece.

  • Mason laughs,probablly;)

  • dawg thats too many shrooms. way too many. skimexile is right, a quad is perfect.

  • Die a thousand times!

  • and you have neither the precedent nor the right so speak as such.

  • It angers me how Youtube wont let more people Give you Thumbs Down

  • Seriously though, imagine the sheet music of this 'song'. Anyone who answered my comment is just sucking up to pink floyd, just because it's such a well-spoken band. No one is actually listening to the music. As if i care if anyone will 'stand up' for pink floyd. It's not like you're going to change my mind or anything.

  • I didn't really let the title of the song soak in and still got the feeling that the song was about some guy running from helicopters and being talked about on the news, then I looked at the title again, and knew everything in the universe.

  • 200 shrooms is a lot. you need an eighth to a quarter of an ounce to feel the amazing effects. eighth is more than enough for the first time.

  • 200 mushrooms seems like a shit load, u just need like a quarter (however many that may be)

but ya acid and shrooms with pink floyd is just amazing

  • You don't need drugs to enjoy anything, drugs are a pathetic way of kicking down mental barriers plus the negatives that drugs bring.

  • this great with or with drugs it is your choice to listen on drugs or not

  • dont get me wrong. im not one of those "drugs are bad"-ppl while drinking alcohol. in fact i do drink alcohol more oftan than i smoke gras but thats all. i have no problem with ppl enjoying whatever substance they ant BUT:

you cannot promote them as if they were a must-have and you must not promote how much you do. this aint a win its a loss for you..

and you certainly dont need ANY drugs (that includes alcohol) to enjoy this or any pink floyd-song

    keep it real

  • I've never once heard of an acid junkie.

  • That's because they are all demented like poor Syd... RIP Syd

  • It wasn't intended to be listened to on drugs. Pink Floyd weren't big drug users like people think they were, only Syd Barrett was. They actually dislike it when people think of them as a drug-oriented band.

  • Clark Rules!

And Barret LSD legacy on Floyd music too.

  • i love this the helicopter sound tripped me out once!!! haha and the laughing/screaming :-0

  • Make sure to put &fmt=18 at the end of the url to really enjoy this song.

  • My head is spinning now.

  • great tip going to use and abuse this...

  • what does it do?
