Why hummers don't grow little fins to reveal their true selves is beyond me though, just do it to get it out of the way and be done with it already :P
I love hummingbirds. They are my favorite bird. They are at my house feeding like crazy too. My arm is getting tired taping them lol but I love it.Great video.
What a lovely, sweet thing for a dad to do, makes me miss my dad. He used to do things like that for me when I was a little girl. Dad's are so special.:)
Thanks for watching the hummers, I'm glad they sparked a warm memory, another video posting of them & a cute little buttefly!
yeah most of the time, but they can go in torpor, I used to watch them fly from the nest just past the choke cherries to the feeder when I lived just south of coos bay
I've seen them do that too, I guess it depends on how cold it gets as to whether or not they'll fly further south. I'm sure some probably stay the winter, down closer to the coast. They're great little birds! I enjoy them. Usually don't see them after late Oct. until the spring.
They're so beautiful in flight. They're more impressive than the Blue Angels. :)

Sherry, this was great. I am lucky if I get one hummingbird a year at my feeder so this was a real treat to see.

They fly south, to Mexico and S. America in the winter. They will be leaving here soon, the reason for the feeding frenzy. They have to be fit to fly.
Thanks for watching, and I hope the little guy you saw is doing ok.:)
