Got to give credit to these young U.S players. They were in a intensive training camp for 3 weeks, than played the game against Venezuela, then traveled down to Panama, and then played this match after like 24 hours of getting there and still were able to win...I would be dead tired after all that.

@bigcris07 you're right, not to mention it was like 90 deg in panama during the day....BUT....it IS their job and they didn't play nearly as well as a team as the venezuelan game....but you are right, i'm sure they're tired....poor guys....have to play soccer for their job... :(

@agriculturaltrading Its their job true..but they are still human and doing all the stuff they did,especially the travelling wears anybody out at some point. about Panama they had some, if not almost all of their main players available to play including their strikers which made this game more challenging for these young U.S guys.Compared to Venezuela who played with young new inexperienced players just like the U.S.

I wouldnt worry too much, the only reason we have these commentators is because the game was broadcast only on Galavision and Espn3, but as soon as they get back on regular espn or espn2 Ian Darke will be calling the games.

the commentator is from south america, and he's the one who speaks in many games on ESPN in spanish for latinoamerica. this is the first time that I hear him speaking english.

Tim Howard is so overrated. Just look at Rimandos dramatic goalkeeping when he was needed. In the USA vs Mexico when the defense faltered Howard just couldn't keep up with the Mexico's assaults. Rimando looks like he has the skills to take them on.

Omg this commentator.. The game was an ugly game. Credit for getting the early goal and holding Panama off a man down but I'm glad this is just our C-team and not who we're going to be relying on when it comes to qualifying and games that matter. What the hell is up with Shea? What happened to the fast and dangerous player that everyone was going crazy over? He's looked so slow and lost these past games. Sapong, Cameron, Parkhurt, and Jones and maybe Wondo were the only noteworthy players.

@JohnJacksonTV He is Hispanic, but the truth is that announcing the game in English the way you would in Spanish sounds awkward in general. I don't just mean the weak GOOOOL, but also how he hits a crescendo at the last syllable on a scoring chance. It doesn't sound right in English. There's a few British announcers who can release the same kind of energy as Andres Cantor, but in a way that comes cleanly out of an English-speaking tongue.

@JohnJacksonTV I'm not a big fan of this announcer (Ortiz, I think). In USA vs Ven. and USA vs. Panama, he mispronounces names all the time (He says Grey-ham for Graham, and listen to the way he says Wondolowski), and the commentary is forced and awkward as you note. Not to mention, very formulaic: any time a player falls down, he says "it should've be a foul" ... Hoping for a new one, please!
