My first coach was well schooled in boxing, kick boxing, and MMA. On day one he told me he would not let me buy headgear with a mask, and this is the reason why.

Your friend wasn't trying to break your nose, that bar on your mask hit your nose at the worst possible angle and did the work for him.

I think the Helmets didn't fit, and so was pushed back when the opponent punched him. The iron rail then crashed against his Nose and it was like: Bye Bye =DD.
