I know hadrcoretam's question was 6 months ago, but here goes anyway. I'm guessing that those plastic bands to hold the battery that you were talking about earlier are called zip ties, or cable ties. You could also use good quality Velcro! ;-) These MTs are just major fun. i might have to sell off all my others and get one really good one.
E-Zilla was the name of the car when Hot Bodies was the company that made the car. Now Hot Bodies and HPI has merged and the car changed name to E-Savage ;-)
1 - Ever tried an E-Revo? The handling is awesome! Plus, if you put super thick oil in the shocks and maybe some 7 inch tires on, you can jump off anything - see my video response. The Savage is a great truck though, I'm not bashing your setup in any way.
2 - How does your TMM 12018-3 work as far as heat goes? I'm considering it or the 160 amp version. I really don't want to worry about heat issues ever again! I'm upgrading to a Nue motor which pulls 120A continuous.
1 - No I am sorry but I have never tried a E-Revo, that might have been fun ;-)
2- I have one 120Amp on this video and on the other E-Svage with the Feigao 6XL motor I have a 16018-3 from MGM compro but I am not yet finished with this car. I am missing the extended chassis and the battery trays ;-)
One of the best RC truck videos Ive seen soo far none of that fancy stunt shot crap, all meat and action, aka showing what a trucks meant for and in this video hill pit climbs of large scales.
It is a remixed Daddy DJ song version but there are alot of these mixes so I am sorry but I do not know the name of this remix. use frostwire and do a search for daddy dj.
Nice spot, You say that you upgrade to brushless with 10L and 9L motor, it's like 9T and 10T or not, is it the same thing ? And you have only one motor on your car ? I asked you this because i'm going to buy one savage to complete my firestorm, i would like to test the 4WD. Thanks
ok thansk :-) i know they are different from the original motor, but in fact, i would like to compare the LRP brushless in 9.5 and the nemesis in 10L and, with what you say, it's very different because the brushless LRP i'm using on my e-firestorm is near 200W.....
i have a 4T brushless team orion motor on my firestorm, it has the speedpassion gt esc on it , it costs 212.50 alltogether but its goes like a bloody rocket!!!
Do you have a movie of your car in action ;-) It is problematic to post links here so I have joined the e-savageDOTcom forum as "Hamak" if you like to discuss or post pictures and links of your car. This summer I upgrade from: TMM 12018-3 Waterproofed 120A ESC Nemesis & Feigao 10L motors AM Radio system to TMM 16018-3 Waterproofed 160A ESC Nemesis & Feigao 7XL motors FM Readio System I expect this system to run cold in any condition ;-)
well be carefull when doing stuff like that, if you get it wrong and it brakes that allot of money wasted, thats like a nightmare case, maybe you should try putting the kershaw 700 motor in your car, what i have heard they are pretty nice and fast. there really big as well.
When converting to brushless you MUST program the ESC to not accellerate to fast or else you'll break parts like, Diffs and drive shafts and sometime the pinion if it is not made by stainless steel and the spur gear if you have it to loose or to tight... I have it to tight, but has redused tha accelleration down to 0-100% on 1,8 seconds and this setup works very great. I have gone brushless for two years soon and I am very happy with this config ;-)
What mods did you need to do, to get the maxamps 8000mah lipo's into the E-Zilla battery trays? Also when running them with the Fiegao, what is the runtimes and what pinion do you use? Do the diffs take it ok?
The MaxAmps batteries does NOT fit into the original battery trays. I use the trays from kershawdesigns.
I use 18tooth pinion with about 30-45min driving depending on how hard you drive.
Alot of people ask about the diffs and the answer is yes and no. Today I use the TMM 16018 (now 16025) ESC from mgm-compro with the SLOW accelleration and I have VERY little problems with the diffs.
Hmmm... I have drilled 4 holes in the chassis but if you don't want to drill you can use plastic strips(bands) I don't know what it is called in english sorry. But then you need to protect the battery with medium hard plastic around it before mounting it or else the batteries might be destroyed cause of friction against the strips and metal chassis.
You also can order the extended chassis from kershawdesigns including the battery case, that I now have done *smile* Still waiting for this ;-)

E-Savage is wannabe Real 4.6 SAVAGE!
hpidude 3 years ago
I might agree, cause it's only a 1/10 scale car and the Savage is a 1/8 scale.
But I still think the E-Savage is very funny car to run ;-)

No it's is NOT the same!
I have converted from two original brushed motors to ONE Brushless Nemesis Blue 10L Motor.
The original motors are about 130watts
The NEW brushless are about 800watts
One motor = much more speed and POWER
do a search for finedesignrc or kershawdesigns
they have nemesis blue and feigao that are allmost the same motor.

Next movies will ALL be brushless cause
I already converted both my E-Zilla's to brushless and this is the config:
E-Zilla-1
- Nemesis Blue 10L Motor
- BK Marine 9920 ESC
- 4500mah batteries from cheapbatterypacks
E-Zilla-2
- MGM Compro, TMM 12018 Waterproof 120A ESC
- Feigao 9L Brushless Motor
- MaxAmps 8000mah LIPO allmost direct fit into E-Zila.

What did you use to attach the Kershaw design's trays onto you're truck?
I'm curious because i have a carbon graphite chassis and i'm paranoid about drilling it if i can avoid it.
Is it hard cased Lipo's you got?
I might try a set up similer to yours in time after i do the 6mm output shaft upgrade on the differential
