Feminists seem to forget that all men aren't sports players or politicians. We are the ones who build railroads, clean out sewers, clean up waste, fight wars, etc. And all that for lower pay than most women's jobs.
These are pretty standard statistics. They probably get them from research conducted by different UN bodies, IFIs, universities, and research institutes, etc. It can be shocking if it's your first time seeing these stats, but that's the reality. Nonetheless, all videos that include stats could benefit by including their sources to allow follow-up.
Calinn, you are delusional if you think Women have had some easy ride through history, nobody has. Equality is a basic right, one that should be recognized as inherent, not earned. Men haven't earned it for all the strife we've caused in the world. Power does not mean superiority it just breeds dominance. Equal rights is a step towards changing the problem-causing stance of dominance over the world and a move towards a symbiotic relationship with our environment. We don't call it father-earth.
@topangacreek sorry my friend, but i'm speaking about how power is earned and rights are made respected in the real world, while you people around here do not seem to have a clue in what world you're living. if you were only a little cold blooded and objective, you would see that the only way to make yourself respected, to make your rights respected, to be given equal chances is to first prove yourself to the ones that have all those. do you think that men of power give a shit about people's ...
@Calinn86 rights?? what in the world makes you believe that the powerful will ever in the future give those rights and respect that equality and offer women or other defavoured people a part of their power? you are the one who's delusional if you think that, not me, because i have history to prove that such a thing never happened and since history is known to repeat itself, it won't ever happen. i'm saying that people should do something if they want something, not just demand it because it's ..
written in the declaration of human rights or acknowledged by humanity in general as basic human rights, cause, as i said before, history proved that only those who struggled to get their rights respected had their rights respected. in fact, there are women who reached positions of power (angela merkel, condoleeza rice etc.) they are the perfect example that opportunities are given to women these days, but only few of them are capable enough or ambitious enough. so where's the problem in the end
i love and respect women, i really do.. but i don't see on what grounds you women demand to have power.. i mean.. ok, you are living creatures too, you may even have something close to a primitive soul, but that's just not enough.. the MEN who rule the world must be intelligent also, a feature that women simply don't posses. let's just face it, the nature didn't made women for leading, their purpose was just to help men breed more men, to clean up after the men, to bring sexual pleasure to men..
@Calinn86 Hi, I just read what you wrote and feel you should reconsider if you really love and respect women. What do you respect them for? Making babies for you? Have you ever wondered why women are in this space. Because they care about the future, about the human race and about taking care of raising the next generation. They should be paid for what they do, given land to live on and given vacations. You are the one who will continue to breed anger, war and poverty this kind of attitude.
@peacedaytv they were only a handful of really important women in history, women that really had an impact on the developing of the world and the civilization that we know today. you can write all their names down on a piece of napkin and still will remain some space on the bottom of it. historians, writers, political leaders, inventors etc etc, 99% of them were men.. yet you demand for equality with men.. why? just because someone in the 50's decided that women deserve the same treatment?
@Calinn86 well.. guess what babe: you have to earn it first!!!!! and just because you carry a child inside you for 9 months doesn't mean you can compensate with all that men have done for this world, cause after all children are not created by women out of thin air, so this is a very poor excuse for asking what you're asking. you say that women sacrificed a lot for human kind, but how about men who died in wars for you and your children's well being while you stayed at home praying?
@Calinn86 how about men who, at the dawn of human's existence, went hunting with spears and clubs and got killed by wild animals? were were the women then? in a nice warm cave, waiting for the meat. for all i can see, the way the world works is consistent very much with the laws of nature: the strong have the power so that they use this power at it's maximum for the favor of both strong and weak.. they protect themselves and the weak ones of them. you want power? pick up a gun in your hands and
@Calinn86 ... go fight a war for defending your country, pick up an ax and go build a house for you, your children and your men, invent something for the wellbeing of the human race. just do that and you'll see that you'll receive the rights and the power you demand. you want the power, show men that you're strong and equal to them. until you do that, i see no grounds for demanding what you demand.
And Enlightenedtruth777, yes, women in the U.S. do make less than men. And yes, women in the U.S. do join the army and defend their country. They also die for their country in wars, in case you wondered.
And women in Third world countries? Yes, they make less than men. But that only goes for the minority of women who are allowed by men to leave their houses and work.
Are you a Christian, brianbmf? You're certainly very passionate about whether or not Jesus had the heart of a woman, but you show none of Jesus' compassion and understanding in your own posts.
Calling people 'damn liars', describing women as 'damn soft' and calling the Koran and Hinduism (which should both be capitalized) 'a bunch of damn garbage' says more about you than the topic you're attempting to discuss.
@Enlightenedtruth777 Do men get pregnant, hold a child inside for nine months, breastfeed, care for a life with all their heart and do whatever they can to raise the next generation in peace?
Your a damn liar!Nowher in the bible does it say jesus had the heart of a woman!Jesus had the heart of a strong man which he was not no damn soft woman! And the quran and hinduism is a bunch of damn garbage!
And about others being Garbage... :-) i feel compassion for you too man...
I don;t want to judge you but atleast i enjoy finding similarities between other religions.. and learning and linking them with me..
I love this story...that the whole cosmos is like a tree made by God ... and we are the leaves; and the branches are the religions... if you say this branch is bad; or this branch is good... you are inevitably saying that the tree is bad... t
Christ said "I am the way the truth and the life,no man comes to the father except by me" So ther is only one way!Religion is false and its not taught in the bible.Jesus, the apostles or the prophetes never taught religion!Religion is man made garbage!
Women do not have a heart stronger than men!Thats a lie and based on nothing. If women had a stronger heart than men God would have chose a woman to do it,but he didnt,he chose a man
The point is that women are the ones making the babies, and being used by men as semen receptacles. If they receive some education, they won't get married as soon and the population will begin to decline. Use a little common sense.
Yeah we're really gonna fight poverty by just helping women and children. That's like saying put an end to global warming by stopping cows from farting.
Why are most tramps on the streets men?? No one mentions that ...if most tramps were women, the world would be in uproar and charities would spring up everywhere.
Did you hear the statistics in this video? In the rural environments being referred to, women are treated as work horses. They're the property of their men, and are expected to strive and work for nothing in return. The commentator in the video is calling for EQUALITY, and that means elevating women so that they have the same opportunities as men.
Men need as much empowerment as women (it is bizarre to give a notion that men are empowered and women are downtrodden - men also live in the poor conditions that women live in). Would I be mistaken to take from this video that careusa ONLY helps females??? If you want better conditions for everyone start by admitting that men also have the ability to improve their conditions IF they are given help - who digs the well that the women and children gather water from?
This is a powerful video driving home the salient points of inequality on every level for women and children. How can we as a race of humans be all we can be when we are dragging women, children or men behind us in chains of inequality. What is keeping us from accomplishing this worthy goal? We certainly do not lack the resources, technology, manpower or the goodness to do so. Monjinou -The Naked Truth
It is not feminist...please read the other postings. Seriously, just because you have a specific campaign to deal with a particular issue, does NOT mean you are excluding others. CARE has been on the front lines, defending men, women and children, since WWII. Just because you join a group wanting to help save the whales or something, does not mean you are against saving the manatees, polar bears, etc... I know it might be a poor analogy, but you get the point. Care has other campaigns too...
I am not sorry to tell you that I firmly believe that your reasoning is flawed. I respect your opinion; however, there is no way that any reasonable person is going to believe that by supporting one cause, means you are against all others.
Of course, if we were talking about a war, and you took one side, then of course, you would be against the other. But this is simply and entirely different scenario.
You CAN want to save the whales and manatees at the same time, period. I bid you peace.
Women should get in the kitchen, respect their master (husband) and take care of the house and kids. Sara Palin knows this, and that's why we need to elect John McCain. Women cause all of the problems in society, that's why they need men to show them the way.
Thats stupid, I can think of two theores for the stats. 1, the men lay back in a life of leisure while the woman do the work for scraps. 2, The men are dead. I hear today that half of zimbabwe is dependent on food aid. WHY, Theories people theories WHY. Is Africa immpovrished because of a seires of random events and catastrophes???... bullshit
OH MY GOD! this is so freaking awsome! if you paste this message into 5 other comments and press ALT F12 the name of your future boyfriend or girlfriend will show up on your screen!!! its SOO COOL
Hi i am 19 year old girl. Any honest boys here who like to cam with me on MSN?? go to: adultfriendfinder(DOT)com/go/g896509 Join this site, its 100% free, dont need creditcard data or something, and add my friendfinder account (same name as youtube account). If you are a nice honest guy, i will give my MSN on friendfinder.
Mathew, I hope when you go to hell your punishment will be to live as a woman for eternity. I want you to know how it feels to be unrespected, to be treated as property. I want you to fear going outside of your house, because 1 in 7 women in America are raped. But most of all I hope you get to hear assholes like yourself say there is no such thing as gender inequality. Maybe then you will see why organizations like care exisit.
luniadia - that's a rather hateful attitude to convey, isn't it? So much for the 'more moral' gender!
I don't believe there is 'absolutely no' discrimination, I'm pointing out - and you're failing to comprehend - that gender discrimination runs TWO WAYS.
Now if that is too much for you, step away from the conversation.
Men get royally ****ed up too, it is not 'just' about women. But, by looking at 'care' - it is clear they want us to believe it IS 'just' about women. They 'care' not for men.
As I said to you privately, I think you have a lot emotionally invested in imposing your own thoughts upon us! We are not saying men are bad, evil, not oppressed, etc... This "particular" platform of CARE's is supporting the idea that in countries where they are unable (not allowed), women "should" be given the right to go to school, own their own land, run businesses, etc. By saying that would be right, nobody is saying that men are all evil, rapists, etc. I think you need help.
If you're addressing me, brian, I have not received any such private message.
If I were to draw up an advertising campaign which focused exclusively on men, highlighting how wonderful men are and how having men around is the best thing since sliced bread, organisations like 'care' would be on my case reminding me that women should be included. Ignoring that men in thousands in the same countries as women don't get education is sexist. I think 'care' needs reminding what equality means.
I did reply to you--check your mailbox. Your "truth" does not hurt me at all. You seem hell bent on putting words in people's mouths, and perhaps you have too much free time? Perhaps you have a substance abuse problem? I don't know. But saying someone hates men and is a feminist because they see a problem that should be fixed which happens to involve women, is simply ludicrous. If you do your HW, you will see that CARE has been helping men too, since WWII! So please, get a grip on yourself, ok?
Brian, I am not joking - I have not received any PM from you. If you say you sent it, ok - but that doesn't mean I 'must' have received it. Sometimes, mail does get lost in transition.
What I know of 'care' is for about two years now, every-single advert I've seen of theirs has been solely dedicated to women-only and ignores men completely. Thus, if your words are true, it begs the question why are the focusing so heavily now as if men are suddenly free from problems? Why not focus evenly?
Unfortunately, men and women will never be free of problems. All problems need to be focused on. But isn't it alright to focus on one at a time? I mean, if I want to save the whales, does that mean that I don't care about polar bears, manatees, etc.? See, that is what I am getting at. Just because you support one cause/platform, does not mean you are ignoring all others. They are not all necessarily mutually exclusive... OK? Sorry I hurt your feelings before-I hope I have cleared things up?
Oh, and you really need to stop with the efforts at personal insults/character assassination... it shows clearly what kind of person you are when you have to stoop down to that level, suggesting I may have a substance abuse problem? Tsk tsk, shame on you.
I humbly and sincerely apologize--I do not mean to try to assassinate your character. I suppose I am just grasping at straws, trying to figure out why you are so confrontational, yet not appearing to listen to what we are saying. Sorry if the mail has not showed up yet, I sent it about 20 minutes ago. But it didn't say anything beyond what I am telling you here. PLEASE just realize that by supporting this particular platform of CARE's, does not mean we are ignoring men and their plight. OK?
Brian, thank you. I have no quarrel with you personally. My quarrel is the manner in which this campaign is addressed.
I would be keen to learn more of what care has done since WWII - somehow though, I doubt they have invested a two year campaign on addressing mens issues solely. That is my argument, when an organisation claims to be for equality - while putting one sex above the other sex, it loses any credibility to the claim of equality.
If there were a place in the world where men were not allowed to get an education, own property, etc...just because they are men, I can not imagine anyone would have a problem with a platform based just upon men. I would fully support it! And YES, I do apologize if I have offended you in any way. That is not my goal. This particular platform is geared at certain rights women do not have in certain places. CARE helps men too-different platform-men are allowed to get an education in these places
Pointed noted, Brian... But - when wars break out, it is almost exclusively the men & boys who are killed (WW's being exceptions, as I understand)... they are tortured, maimed, disfigured, left for dead... and killed - in thousands upon thousands. When the news is read out - we hear alike to "xx women raped in 3rd world country"... somehow, the fact that men are dying is ignored. Where was care? Why didn't they have a 2yr campaign to save those lives? etc.?
I am in 100% agreement with you, really I am! I know for a fact that CARE is working in Rwanda right now (and have been since the genocide there...). They are helping men too! CARE is a charity, they respond when and where they can. They worked hard through the tsunami tragedy as well-helping men and women. They really DO go into all these countries and do the best they can. The only reason they pulled out of Iraq is because the head of CARE there was beheaded on camera a few years back-truth.
I know, men and women get beheaded...this is ONE of the countries CARE has tried to help. They had her (could have been a man) on the news for over a week-I can't recall her name right now(I hate myself for that!)but will find out and let you know.I think it was Margaret Hussein (she was married to an Iraqi man-she was British).Anyhow,I am just as angered when a man is murdered. CARE's people really work on the front lines.
In fact, that kidnapping and beheading was horrendous. They paraded her (wouldn't be any less horrible if she had been a man...)in front of cameras, made her beg for her life, and then murdered her anyway. Her headless body was found thrown in the street. Could have been a man or a woman. But again, CARE's people have even shed blood (more than just this one person) to help people, men and women. I am just glad we are not fighting, and seem to understand each other better...
That really is terrible. As you say, regardless of sex - death is death, and to be tortured and humiliated in such a way is just dispicable. This kind of shi..stuff boils my blood :(
I wanted to fill you in on more details regarding Margaret. The terrorists who kidnapped her in broad daylight held her hostage, and demanded that the U.K. pull their troops out of Iraq for her release. She was on the national news many times, begging for her life-of course, the U.K. could not pull out because of that. It is a shame, because she(and many others, men included) have given their lives on behalf of CARE, to help others(men and women). They had to pull out of Iraq. Good night...
Sorry, I just looked her up--her name was Margaret Hassan. Google her name and you will find her (even under Hussein...). They have her photo, news footage, story, etc... It is a tragedy when people suffer--men and women. But I won't be able to sleep well tonight knowing just what a great organization CARE is, with such dedicated men and women working there (for low wages, I might add-it is a charity...), unless I proclaim one last time that they are good people, and don't leave anyone out.
Yeah, we covered this already below...no problem. Indeed, CARE was/has been there, on many occasions... Rwanda, Iraq, Somalia, etc...They are not feminists. This is just one particular platform/campaign of theirs. Picture it this way, just because someone wants to "save the whales," does not mean they don't want to save the polar bears, manatees, etc... You are a good person--there is no issue here anymore. I should have been more clear early on with my explanations... Have a great day.
CORRECTION:I apologize for mis-posting! After re-reading the old news stories, I found that Margaret was not murdered by beheading-she was shot in the head on camera, then mutilated. Her body was found thereafter. Whatever the case, murder is murder.Margarete's last platform/campaign had nothing to do with sexism. She was focused on a clinic that tended to children with spinal injuries and malformations.I hope at this point, that nobody would say CARE hates adults because of a childrens' clinic?
CARE also does work in Haiti, ElSalvador, you name it. If it is a "lesser developed country" (aka third world), CARE is (or has been) there, helping in any capacity possible. This is the first time they have ever had a platform focused on womens' rights. And they continue their other work as well. Again, they help men, women, and children. Having one platform/campaign does not mean they are sexist, racist, etc. What a slippery slope it would be to say different.
For instance, supporting children does not mean you hate adults. Supporting people in Africa does not mean you hate South Americans (CARE supports both, and more...). Supporting men does not mean you hate women. Supporting women does not mean you hate men. The list goes on, but I think I have made my point, and ask for your forgiveness for beating a dead-horse! :-) Thanks. There has been some great discussion here, and that is healthy. So let their be peace...
This is promoting segragation between humans. It starts with a commercial that shows big industries and companies eyeing up the untapped resources to exploit, acting as if woman should be proud to take a more functional role in society as slaves to the system. Pushing women to take their "power" and dominate the world like the alpha females they truely are. What's next, division by boob size?
oh, brother gimme a friggin break boo hoo! maybe they should get up off their lazy asses & or should i say backs & stop having kids mandatory sterilization 4 those that cannot afford children
and yet the world is still run by rich, white men. how quaint. Female supremacy does not exist in our current culture. These organizations merely attempt to make up for the centuries of gender discrimination. Women were unable to vote until recently, and are still underpaid. I am very disappointing that people fail to notice this. I believe that if I were a woman, I would strive to make the world a better place for the millions of women who have no say.
In England, it was only recently that men could vote too. Did you know, there's only TEN YEARS between men being allowed to vote, and women? No? You didn't know that? Is that because feminism has convinced you it was 'thousands, hundreds' of years? Look up real history, not feminist lies.
It was only recently (2003 I think) that unmarried fathers had EQUAL RIGHTS to unmarried mothers (parental rights to their children). What's more important, bit of paper (vote) or rights to your children?
No, your truth does not hurt me or anyone else. I feel sorry for you, because you are not getting the point, and don't seem willing to be civil. I wonder why you even bother posting here since you appear to have nothing to offer but hatred and paranoia. You can't seem to grasp the fact that just because someone supports a cause that involves women, does NOT mean they hate men, and don't support their causes too... Please, get some help, I mean that. You are a man, and I care about you!
It's a shame an organisation with a name like 'care' only 'cares' about half the population. It completely ignores the other half. That's called sexism, bigotry and misandry.
The prostitutes in the USA are, indeed, empowered if they so choose. Under the laws here, they have the right to an education, etc...If they go into prostitution here, they are making a choice. Unfortunately, it is often an economic choice (they can make decent money fast), but it is still a choice. Imagine living someplace where your sister or daughter can be sold into the "profession" against her will, and the law will do nothing to protect here!?!
Dear RAGAB1000, I can tell where you mind is right now based upon that sad statement...
It is not legal to sell women into prostitution in the USA. It IS legal to do it in some countries, where CARE is trying to help. For whores here, it is a choice. But it isn't a choice for thousands of women around the world. Besides, what does that have to do with giving women an education to help better their communities? Sheeesh....
I think it is a great video. I think that it brings up a very real problem that should be dealt with, and am glad someone finally decided to do it! The only way many of these countries will ever develop is to educate everyone, and work together to raise their own standards of living. Men can not do it without women--they need to do it together for the sake of their own posterity.
Ummm, methinks that means having the same rights for both sexes? In these countries, women are kept as property/slaves, and are not even allowed to own their own property. Yes, I think women SHOULD be able to fight in wars, work in mines, and fly to space. They should NOT be "held back" just because of their gender. I happen to know a few women who are pretty darned tough, and I know they make damned good soldiers.
No, that is not what people are saying. The men in these societies have the money and power already. The women are marginalized and oppressed. If you educate them (too), the standard of living for all their communities will improve. That benefits the entire world with regard to simple economic laws of supply and demand, etc... We'd rather have these societies flourish as a whole, rather than remain in the horrible condition they are in now.
Absolutely correct, Korsgaard - this is blatant sexism. The women in these countries certainly have a tough time, but so do the men. Pretending that women 'deserve more' help than men is nothing short of a sexist bigotted attitude thanks to feminist mentality.
The economy is going global. We NEED other nations to be able to stand on their own two feet, so that they can contribute to the world as a whole. CARE teaches people in these countries how to do thing for themselves (rather than just giving them handouts). In the long run, this benefits the entire world, including the US. They will create supply and demand, and that is where it all starts. What is the point of "not" tapping such a powerful resource?
Everyone has a mother (and a father)! Some of the men making such horrible statements about women here, should consider that they might not like their mother, sister, or daughter to be spoken of the way they are speaking of other women.
This video is about tapping a resource(in this case, women)so that they can help build infrastructure, run businesses, and help take care of their own communities. The men "have" been running them, and they are all starving, impoverished, etc...hmm, wonder why?
So you bashing men (implying men only are to blame for poor countries) is fine, right, Brianlynk - but 'horrible statements' against women is bad, bad, bad?
Moreover, women are the largest "untapped" resource on the planet. Remember folks, these other countries are not the USA (or even the west, in general). The countries being referred to are located in Africa, the Middle East, etc... If you think for one minute that the majority of those women have any rights, think again. They are treated like property!
However, these women are intelligent, capable human beings. They should be empowered to help build their communities! Teach them to fish, etc
I must say that I am appalled at some of the statements I am seeing here. Although I respect everyone's right to their opinions, free speech, etc...I think it is in poor taste to be cursing about, and degrading either of the sexes.
Indeed, the information in this video is true. I know that CARE has been around since World War II, and is a very reputable charity.
They would not risk their reputation by publicizing falsehoods.
Women are a powerful force, and this force must be tapped..
It's upsetting to see all the sexist males here, but I dunno. This video is wrong, and right. In small references to lets say, america/england... The women want to be equal, yet they want to be treat like meat - thus wearing short skirts, and sleeping with strangers. But in the poorer countries, ofc - it's wrong. 70% of the worlds labour?.. Bit of strechable 'statement'..I really don't have enough space to argue so many stupid & ridiculous points, so I don't think i'm going to continue what im..
This has nothing to do with American women. They are talking about women in poor or heavily populated/ slave labored countries that are treated like dirt each and every day.
Saw a woman at work today complaining about how her husband only makes 2$ an hour more and isn't as big of a bread-winner as she wanted him to be.
Help women in poor countries out by supporting CARE, could give a crud less about American women though, they have enough rights ( more than men if you look it up).
Spot on you have more rights than men. If 'care' cared about equality, as it 'claims', it might take an interest in allowing father's to be a parent as oppose just a walking wallet.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
haha This is bullshit. Woman are made to do what we say. To Marrie to Fix owr food and to do 'it' any time I plz. and in return we love and lookout for em! >:]
well all this male over female stuff was all due to the fact that breasts get in the way of physical labor and such opening a hole for the male to usurp power its displayed in almost all animals also the fact that at around 13 years of age and below males and females are not so different other than different sexual organs and face differences at thirteen the male body releases a hormone testosterone
no one will be equal for a long time just like black ppl today most of ppl dont care but ABit do
men and women are different men defend and delagate...women gather and nuture....tampering with the GRAND scheme of things will upset the balance on planet earth being a female i understand and respect nature and it's dynamic powers.
This is probably going to be rated down, but I'd say the most discriminated-against group on earth is Islam, due to all the propaganda and racism worldwide. BTW Islam does not oppress women and in fact encourages equality between all genders and races. Great vid anyways, 5/5
Agreed. And when the majority of people who follow the religion of Islam stand up and take back their religion from extremists within their own countries, the "oppression" (which is really self-defense!) will stop. There is nothing at all wrong with Islam--it is a beautiful religion. Unfortunately, it appears to have been hijacked by extremists, as a tool to spread propaganda and mass death. That needs to change for the sake of the world...
CARE fails to mention here that because they receive government subsidies, they are unable to offer abortions that would, in many cases, save lives of young mothers and/or prevent the birth of a child with HIV.
That seems like a low blow. CARE is a not-for-profit! It serves its constituency as a steward of funds to educate people and help them become self reliant. It is not their job to encourage (or discourage) abortion. They work EXTENSIVELY to try to educate young women and girls so that they can plan their pregnancies, or use birth-control, and realize they have a choice. Unfortunately, when they are raped, they have no choice. But empowering them will help them avoid that fate in the future!
Also, having a brother with AIDS (for nearly 20 years now!), I can say that their lives are valuable too. Trying to stop the spread of AIDS is also important to CARE, as many of their programs illustrate. Did you know that MANY children born HIV+ "zero convert" back to HIV-? To say someone's life has no value because they have a horrible virus is just plain mean and thoughtless. I am glad my brother is still alive...
I had never heard that, I will look into it, thank you for the enlightenment. And of course their lives are valuable, but I don't think that it is responsible to bring a person into the world that might spend most of their lives on heavy medication.
I agree with you (as I said in private). I would want to avoid bringing a sick child into the world as well. You are obviously a very good person to be so civil and rational...
I mean, who "pays" for all the medication? That is an important point! I think the only answer to this problem is education--so these women and men can plan their families, and try not to have children if they know they have this disease. Where there is life, there is hope. But AIDS is something to be avoided, for sure!
That's probably in terms of time; women may not do more physical labor, but they do most of the detail-oriented, time-consuming work, ie producing textiles and picking rice. We also tend to live longer, so that helps. I agree that the gender equality issue is not one-sided though. Men are often oppressed as well--gender roles apply to men and women both. Remember though that we, women, often have to work twice as hard doing decent, honest (not prostitution) work to make as much as a man would.
I'm glad to see *you* (and it seems you alone) can understand it is not one-sided. But please, where on Earth did you get this feminist-induced claim that women have to work 2x hard than a man to make as much?
That *may* be true in some very backward country, but in the Western World, women earn the same as men providing they put in the SAME commitment & hours. Feminist 'claims' of 76c (to man's $1) is a blatant and proven lie.
Only talking about other countries where women are marginalized, NOT America... Here, it is quite the opposite, and you are correct, they are often allowed to take advantage of men in divorces, etc... That is wrong, and it should change as well, so we agree on something! The problem is that in many countries, women are not even allowed to go to school...it really is a serious matter.
So if we're in agreement that in USA women are not hard off (like feminists pretend), I wonder why I got thumb down for an accurate and honest comment about that fact?
I agree not being given an education is a serious matter, but I also think men dying (while women are not killed in anything close to similar numbers) is also very important. Yet, typically, mens' deaths are ignored by organisations which claim to 'care'. Just like the UN, it completely ignores men's issues.
Well, statistics from different parties say different things, so it is a point of judgement. Sexism is very much a part of Western culture and it's ignorant to dismiss it in ours. And I'm a feminist, so I tend to sympathize with "feminist-induced claims" xD
So... you believe that just because women CHOOSE to work less hours, and thus get paid less money - it is somehow discrimination? You believe that all men are rapists? You believe that 1 in 4 women are raped? And so on... And so on?
If you believe in true equality - you're obviously not a feminist. If you believe the world is bad because of men's inferiority, you are a feminist.
Again, you are missing the point. We are not even talking about the west in general. You seem to have no concept of the way the world is outside the west. You are an angry man, hell-bent on your hatred of women, to the point where you are not being rational. There is nothing rational about you putting words into our mouths, etc. If you would read more closely, you'd see that this is a "particular" platform of CARE's.They also help men, and have been doing so since WWII. Do some homework, then post.
Brian, do not confuse hatred of sexism with hatred of women. Doing so clearly indicates your frustration and inability to discuss in an adult environment, relying on misinformation & diversionary tactics in order to 'win'. Pretending I hate women is an outrageous lie, and one I expect an apology for.
By highlighting the sexist nature of these adverts is nothing close to misogyny. If you are incapable of comprehending this, I suggest you do your homework.
This is a very effective and compelling video. I know that CARE does great work around the world, but I didn't know the size of the problems they are facing. I'd like to see a breakdown of that data to get a better picture of how all of the problems add up to so much.
Please, go to their website. The information is there, I checked it out myself. Just Google-search CARE, and you'll find it (I don't think I am allowed to post their website here...).
Empowering women and girls is truly the linchpin for achieving all of the UN Millennium Development Goals and this video does a great job of communicating this need. Awesome video and incredible organization!
And also 100% of the world's population (including ignorant turds such as yourself) wouldn't have even been born if it wasn't for women 'menstruating' and then giving birth to you so STFU.
It's a shame they're only interested in defending one half though, as if the other half has no problem with also being raped, with being shot dead, with being tortured, and so forth.
Pretending only half the population faces issues is incredibly sexist & hateful.
When organisations pay attention to ALL peoples instead of placing one's needs above the other's, then perhaps I'll listen to the claims of 'care'.
It is not about only defending one half. It is about adding the undefended half to the equation. Everyone should be defended...the women have been marginalized.
It is about adding the women to the equation. Nobody wants to leave men out! That would be silly. But if men are going to school and being educated, why shouldn't the women be able to have the same opportunities?
So... if 'care' is now 'adding' women to the equation (implying men are already defended), I'd be very keen to hear what they do to 'care' about men who are tortured and killed throughout the less fortunate countries?
"Nothing", you say?
"Thought so...", answered I.
So yeah, 'care' is just 'yet another' female supremacy organisation. Note how it talks of girls being all wonderful, *as if* boys are of no value.
Sheesh! You some of you guys just don't get it! In lands where women are so thoroughly discriminated against of course they can't read and of course they are being treated as slave labor! Also, to top it all off women are often repeatedly raped in some regions as an act of terrorism! Those of you who mock this type of thing don't understand what these women go through! LOOK IT UP, YOU DINGBATS!

Calinn86 1 year ago

Calinn86 1 year ago
i love and respect women, i really do.. but i don't see on what grounds you women demand to have power.. i mean.. ok, you are living creatures too, you may even have something close to a primitive soul, but that's just not enough.. the MEN who rule the world must be intelligent also, a feature that women simply don't posses. let's just face it, the nature didn't made women for leading, their purpose was just to help men breed more men, to clean up after the men, to bring sexual pleasure to men..
Calinn86 1 year ago
@Calinn86 Hi, I just read what you wrote and feel you should reconsider if you really love and respect women. What do you respect them for? Making babies for you? Have you ever wondered why women are in this space. Because they care about the future, about the human race and about taking care of raising the next generation. They should be paid for what they do, given land to live on and given vacations. You are the one who will continue to breed anger, war and poverty this kind of attitude.
peacedaytv 1 year ago
@peacedaytv they were only a handful of really important women in history, women that really had an impact on the developing of the world and the civilization that we know today. you can write all their names down on a piece of napkin and still will remain some space on the bottom of it. historians, writers, political leaders, inventors etc etc, 99% of them were men.. yet you demand for equality with men.. why? just because someone in the 50's decided that women deserve the same treatment?
Calinn86 1 year ago
@Calinn86 well.. guess what babe: you have to earn it first!!!!! and just because you carry a child inside you for 9 months doesn't mean you can compensate with all that men have done for this world, cause after all children are not created by women out of thin air, so this is a very poor excuse for asking what you're asking. you say that women sacrificed a lot for human kind, but how about men who died in wars for you and your children's well being while you stayed at home praying?
Calinn86 1 year ago
@Calinn86 how about men who, at the dawn of human's existence, went hunting with spears and clubs and got killed by wild animals? were were the women then? in a nice warm cave, waiting for the meat. for all i can see, the way the world works is consistent very much with the laws of nature: the strong have the power so that they use this power at it's maximum for the favor of both strong and weak.. they protect themselves and the weak ones of them. you want power? pick up a gun in your hands and
Calinn86 1 year ago
@Calinn86 ... go fight a war for defending your country, pick up an ax and go build a house for you, your children and your men, invent something for the wellbeing of the human race. just do that and you'll see that you'll receive the rights and the power you demand. you want the power, show men that you're strong and equal to them. until you do that, i see no grounds for demanding what you demand.
Calinn86 1 year ago
And Enlightenedtruth777, yes, women in the U.S. do make less than men. And yes, women in the U.S. do join the army and defend their country. They also die for their country in wars, in case you wondered.
And women in Third world countries? Yes, they make less than men. But that only goes for the minority of women who are allowed by men to leave their houses and work.

Calling people 'damn liars', describing women as 'damn soft' and calling the Koran and Hinduism (which should both be capitalized) 'a bunch of damn garbage' says more about you than the topic you're attempting to discuss.

Strength is in being weak., or what seems to be weak at that moment.
When He was being nailed on the Cross, He could have rebelled and fought the guards; come on; the son of God!

Surely he could have made their blood into water in an instant. Yes ?
But he didn;t.. !!! just so that mankind could be forgiven for their sins; for all eternity.

Did you hear the statistics in this video? In the rural environments being referred to, women are treated as work horses. They're the property of their men, and are expected to strive and work for nothing in return. The commentator in the video is calling for EQUALITY, and that means elevating women so that they have the same opportunities as men.
Don't get your man-panties in a bunch.

You only help women and girls?
If you see a boy in poverty you ignore him, this is "gender equality"?
If a Western man makes a donation it will only go to help females?
Typical.
The sad thing is females will just nod along with this video without dissecting it to find out for sure what the truth is.

Men need as much empowerment as women (it is bizarre to give a notion that men are empowered and women are downtrodden - men also live in the poor conditions that women live in). Would I be mistaken to take from this video that careusa ONLY helps females??? If you want better conditions for everyone start by admitting that men also have the ability to improve their conditions IF they are given help - who digs the well that the women and children gather water from?

fede18lp 3 years ago 2
It is not feminist...please read the other postings. Seriously, just because you have a specific campaign to deal with a particular issue, does NOT mean you are excluding others. CARE has been on the front lines, defending men, women and children, since WWII. Just because you join a group wanting to help save the whales or something, does not mean you are against saving the manatees, polar bears, etc... I know it might be a poor analogy, but you get the point. Care has other campaigns too...
brianlynk1 3 years ago
sorry, but your analogy is wrong, you should know about joining a position you are indirectly against others.
like magnetism, you join + you are against -
it will be a virtude and wise if you join both, woman and man like the same.
soo thats why i felt discriminated. and i am sure all the man who see this felt same.
hope this feminist video get erase/deleted.
fede18lp 3 years ago
I am not sorry to tell you that I firmly believe that your reasoning is flawed. I respect your opinion; however, there is no way that any reasonable person is going to believe that by supporting one cause, means you are against all others.
Of course, if we were talking about a war, and you took one side, then of course, you would be against the other. But this is simply and entirely different scenario.
You CAN want to save the whales and manatees at the same time, period. I bid you peace.

Women should get in the kitchen, respect their master (husband) and take care of the house and kids. Sara Palin knows this, and that's why we need to elect John McCain. Women cause all of the problems in society, that's why they need men to show them the way.

junebugkitty 3 years ago
luniadia - that's a rather hateful attitude to convey, isn't it? So much for the 'more moral' gender!
I don't believe there is 'absolutely no' discrimination, I'm pointing out - and you're failing to comprehend - that gender discrimination runs TWO WAYS.
Now if that is too much for you, step away from the conversation.
Men get royally ****ed up too, it is not 'just' about women. But, by looking at 'care' - it is clear they want us to believe it IS 'just' about women. They 'care' not for men.
mathewskarl 3 years ago 4
As I said to you privately, I think you have a lot emotionally invested in imposing your own thoughts upon us! We are not saying men are bad, evil, not oppressed, etc... This "particular" platform of CARE's is supporting the idea that in countries where they are unable (not allowed), women "should" be given the right to go to school, own their own land, run businesses, etc. By saying that would be right, nobody is saying that men are all evil, rapists, etc. I think you need help.
brianlynk1 3 years ago
If you're addressing me, brian, I have not received any such private message.
If I were to draw up an advertising campaign which focused exclusively on men, highlighting how wonderful men are and how having men around is the best thing since sliced bread, organisations like 'care' would be on my case reminding me that women should be included. Ignoring that men in thousands in the same countries as women don't get education is sexist. I think 'care' needs reminding what equality means.
mathewskarl 3 years ago 5
I did reply to you--check your mailbox. Your "truth" does not hurt me at all. You seem hell bent on putting words in people's mouths, and perhaps you have too much free time? Perhaps you have a substance abuse problem? I don't know. But saying someone hates men and is a feminist because they see a problem that should be fixed which happens to involve women, is simply ludicrous. If you do your HW, you will see that CARE has been helping men too, since WWII! So please, get a grip on yourself, ok?
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Brian, I am not joking - I have not received any PM from you. If you say you sent it, ok - but that doesn't mean I 'must' have received it. Sometimes, mail does get lost in transition.
What I know of 'care' is for about two years now, every-single advert I've seen of theirs has been solely dedicated to women-only and ignores men completely. Thus, if your words are true, it begs the question why are the focusing so heavily now as if men are suddenly free from problems? Why not focus evenly?
mathewskarl 3 years ago 5
Unfortunately, men and women will never be free of problems. All problems need to be focused on. But isn't it alright to focus on one at a time? I mean, if I want to save the whales, does that mean that I don't care about polar bears, manatees, etc.? See, that is what I am getting at. Just because you support one cause/platform, does not mean you are ignoring all others. They are not all necessarily mutually exclusive... OK? Sorry I hurt your feelings before-I hope I have cleared things up?
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Oh, and you really need to stop with the efforts at personal insults/character assassination... it shows clearly what kind of person you are when you have to stoop down to that level, suggesting I may have a substance abuse problem? Tsk tsk, shame on you.
mathewskarl 3 years ago 4
I humbly and sincerely apologize--I do not mean to try to assassinate your character. I suppose I am just grasping at straws, trying to figure out why you are so confrontational, yet not appearing to listen to what we are saying. Sorry if the mail has not showed up yet, I sent it about 20 minutes ago. But it didn't say anything beyond what I am telling you here. PLEASE just realize that by supporting this particular platform of CARE's, does not mean we are ignoring men and their plight. OK?
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Brian, thank you. I have no quarrel with you personally. My quarrel is the manner in which this campaign is addressed.
I would be keen to learn more of what care has done since WWII - somehow though, I doubt they have invested a two year campaign on addressing mens issues solely. That is my argument, when an organisation claims to be for equality - while putting one sex above the other sex, it loses any credibility to the claim of equality.
mathewskarl 3 years ago 4
If there were a place in the world where men were not allowed to get an education, own property, etc...just because they are men, I can not imagine anyone would have a problem with a platform based just upon men. I would fully support it! And YES, I do apologize if I have offended you in any way. That is not my goal. This particular platform is geared at certain rights women do not have in certain places. CARE helps men too-different platform-men are allowed to get an education in these places
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Pointed noted, Brian... But - when wars break out, it is almost exclusively the men & boys who are killed (WW's being exceptions, as I understand)... they are tortured, maimed, disfigured, left for dead... and killed - in thousands upon thousands. When the news is read out - we hear alike to "xx women raped in 3rd world country"... somehow, the fact that men are dying is ignored. Where was care? Why didn't they have a 2yr campaign to save those lives? etc.?
mathewskarl 3 years ago 5
I am in 100% agreement with you, really I am! I know for a fact that CARE is working in Rwanda right now (and have been since the genocide there...). They are helping men too! CARE is a charity, they respond when and where they can. They worked hard through the tsunami tragedy as well-helping men and women. They really DO go into all these countries and do the best they can. The only reason they pulled out of Iraq is because the head of CARE there was beheaded on camera a few years back-truth.
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Are you serious!?!? Beheaded? OMG!!!
I was half way through writing another reply (to your latter comment) but this came through, so refreshed the content, and read this post (above).
DAMN!
I recall a soldier or two being beheaded, but I was not aware of CARE members (esp the top cheese) being slaughtered :(
mathewskarl 3 years ago
I know, men and women get beheaded...this is ONE of the countries CARE has tried to help. They had her (could have been a man) on the news for over a week-I can't recall her name right now(I hate myself for that!)but will find out and let you know.I think it was Margaret Hussein (she was married to an Iraqi man-she was British).Anyhow,I am just as angered when a man is murdered. CARE's people really work on the front lines.
brianlynk1 3 years ago
In fact, that kidnapping and beheading was horrendous. They paraded her (wouldn't be any less horrible if she had been a man...)in front of cameras, made her beg for her life, and then murdered her anyway. Her headless body was found thrown in the street. Could have been a man or a woman. But again, CARE's people have even shed blood (more than just this one person) to help people, men and women. I am just glad we are not fighting, and seem to understand each other better...
brianlynk1 3 years ago
That really is terrible. As you say, regardless of sex - death is death, and to be tortured and humiliated in such a way is just dispicable. This kind of shi..stuff boils my blood :(
mathewskarl 3 years ago 4

brianlynk1 3 years ago
I wanted to fill you in on more details regarding Margaret. The terrorists who kidnapped her in broad daylight held her hostage, and demanded that the U.K. pull their troops out of Iraq for her release. She was on the national news many times, begging for her life-of course, the U.K. could not pull out because of that. It is a shame, because she(and many others, men included) have given their lives on behalf of CARE, to help others(men and women). They had to pull out of Iraq. Good night...
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Sorry, I just looked her up--her name was Margaret Hassan. Google her name and you will find her (even under Hussein...). They have her photo, news footage, story, etc... It is a tragedy when people suffer--men and women. But I won't be able to sleep well tonight knowing just what a great organization CARE is, with such dedicated men and women working there (for low wages, I might add-it is a charity...), unless I proclaim one last time that they are good people, and don't leave anyone out.
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Yeah, we covered this already below...no problem. Indeed, CARE was/has been there, on many occasions... Rwanda, Iraq, Somalia, etc...They are not feminists. This is just one particular platform/campaign of theirs. Picture it this way, just because someone wants to "save the whales," does not mean they don't want to save the polar bears, manatees, etc... You are a good person--there is no issue here anymore. I should have been more clear early on with my explanations... Have a great day.
brianlynk1 3 years ago

What a slippery slope it would be to say different.
brianlynk1 3 years ago

What's next, division by boob size?

and yet the world is still run by rich, white men. how quaint. Female supremacy does not exist in our current culture. These organizations merely attempt to make up for the centuries of gender discrimination. Women were unable to vote until recently, and are still underpaid. I am very disappointing that people fail to notice this. I believe that if I were a woman, I would strive to make the world a better place for the millions of women who have no say.
junebugkitty 3 years ago
In England, it was only recently that men could vote too. Did you know, there's only TEN YEARS between men being allowed to vote, and women? No? You didn't know that? Is that because feminism has convinced you it was 'thousands, hundreds' of years? Look up real history, not feminist lies.
It was only recently (2003 I think) that unmarried fathers had EQUAL RIGHTS to unmarried mothers (parental rights to their children). What's more important, bit of paper (vote) or rights to your children?

You can't seem to grasp the fact that just because someone supports a cause that involves women, does NOT mean they hate men, and don't support their causes too... Please, get some help, I mean that. You are a man, and I care about you!

The prostitutes in the USA are, indeed, empowered if they so choose. Under the laws here, they have the right to an education, etc...If they go into prostitution here, they are making a choice. Unfortunately, it is often an economic choice (they can make decent money fast), but it is still a choice. Imagine living someplace where your sister or daughter can be sold into the "profession" against her will, and the law will do nothing to protect here!?!
brianlynk1 3 years ago
you've got the point
sarakalol 3 years ago
Dear RAGAB1000, I can tell where you mind is right now based upon that sad statement...
It is not legal to sell women into prostitution in the USA. It IS legal to do it in some countries, where CARE is trying to help. For whores here, it is a choice. But it isn't a choice for thousands of women around the world. Besides, what does that have to do with giving women an education to help better their communities? Sheeesh....
brianlynk1 3 years ago
how about millions of women who are working as prostitutes in ur country are they powerful?
RAGAB1000 3 years ago
I think it is a great video. I think that it brings up a very real problem that should be dealt with, and am glad someone finally decided to do it! The only way many of these countries will ever develop is to educate everyone, and work together to raise their own standards of living. Men can not do it without women--they need to do it together for the sake of their own posterity.
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Ummm, methinks that means having the same rights for both sexes? In these countries, women are kept as property/slaves, and are not even allowed to own their own property. Yes, I think women SHOULD be able to fight in wars, work in mines, and fly to space. They should NOT be "held back" just because of their gender. I happen to know a few women who are pretty darned tough, and I know they make damned good soldiers.
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Woah. This is some sexist stuff. Yeah, give women the money, not the men! The men are baaad! Gender !neutrality! in supportive money, please.
Korsgaard91 3 years ago 3
No, that is not what people are saying. The men in these societies have the money and power already. The women are marginalized and oppressed. If you educate them (too), the standard of living for all their communities will improve. That benefits the entire world with regard to simple economic laws of supply and demand, etc... We'd rather have these societies flourish as a whole, rather than remain in the horrible condition they are in now.
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Absolutely correct, Korsgaard - this is blatant sexism. The women in these countries certainly have a tough time, but so do the men. Pretending that women 'deserve more' help than men is nothing short of a sexist bigotted attitude thanks to feminist mentality.
mathewskarl 3 years ago
Kinda one-sided point you have. You want Gender Eqality? What does that mean? Fighting wars? Working in mines? Flying to space?
Anyway, that "CARE" project is a single-minded think tank. Anyone can become a member.
RainbowEel 3 years ago
The economy is going global. We NEED other nations to be able to stand on their own two feet, so that they can contribute to the world as a whole. CARE teaches people in these countries how to do thing for themselves (rather than just giving them handouts). In the long run, this benefits the entire world, including the US. They will create supply and demand, and that is where it all starts. What is the point of "not" tapping such a powerful resource?
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Everyone has a mother (and a father)! Some of the men making such horrible statements about women here, should consider that they might not like their mother, sister, or daughter to be spoken of the way they are speaking of other women.
This video is about tapping a resource(in this case, women)so that they can help build infrastructure, run businesses, and help take care of their own communities. The men "have" been running them, and they are all starving, impoverished, etc...hmm, wonder why?
brianlynk1 3 years ago
So you bashing men (implying men only are to blame for poor countries) is fine, right, Brianlynk - but 'horrible statements' against women is bad, bad, bad?
Sounds like typical double-standards!!!
mathewskarl 3 years ago 2
Moreover, women are the largest "untapped" resource on the planet. Remember folks, these other countries are not the USA (or even the west, in general). The countries being referred to are located in Africa, the Middle East, etc... If you think for one minute that the majority of those women have any rights, think again. They are treated like property!
However, these women are intelligent, capable human beings. They should be empowered to help build their communities! Teach them to fish, etc
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Hello,
I must say that I am appalled at some of the statements I am seeing here.

This is probably going to be rated down, but I'd say the most discriminated-against group on earth is Islam, due to all the propaganda and racism worldwide. BTW Islam does not oppress women and in fact encourages equality between all genders and races. Great vid anyways, 5/5
nahedh 3 years ago

Agreed 100%
GringaEnMexico 3 years ago
Glad to see you guys agree. But who's the racist bias who gave us thumbs down?
nahedh 3 years ago
CARE fails to mention here that because they receive government subsidies, they are unable to offer abortions that would, in many cases, save lives of young mothers and/or prevent the birth of a child with HIV.
llamagrl500 3 years ago
That seems like a low blow. CARE is a not-for-profit! It serves its constituency as a steward of funds to educate people and help them become self reliant. It is not their job to encourage (or discourage) abortion. They work EXTENSIVELY to try to educate young women and girls so that they can plan their pregnancies, or use birth-control, and realize they have a choice. Unfortunately, when they are raped, they have no choice. But empowering them will help them avoid that fate in the future!
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Also, having a brother with AIDS (for nearly 20 years now!), I can say that their lives are valuable too. Trying to stop the spread of AIDS is also important to CARE, as many of their programs illustrate. Did you know that MANY children born HIV+ "zero convert" back to HIV-? To say someone's life has no value because they have a horrible virus is just plain mean and thoughtless. I am glad my brother is still alive...
brianlynk1 3 years ago
I had never heard that, I will look into it, thank you for the enlightenment. And of course their lives are valuable, but I don't think that it is responsible to bring a person into the world that might spend most of their lives on heavy medication.
fakeusername92 3 years ago
I agree with you (as I said in private). I would want to avoid bringing a sick child into the world as well. You are obviously a very good person to be so civil and rational...
I mean, who "pays" for all the medication? That is an important point! I think the only answer to this problem is education--so these women and men can plan their families, and try not to have children if they know they have this disease. Where there is life, there is hope. But AIDS is something to be avoided, for sure!
brianlynk1 3 years ago
That's probably in terms of time; women may not do more physical labor, but they do most of the detail-oriented, time-consuming work, ie producing textiles and picking rice. We also tend to live longer, so that helps. I agree that the gender equality issue is not one-sided though. Men are often oppressed as well--gender roles apply to men and women both. Remember though that we, women, often have to work twice as hard doing decent, honest (not prostitution) work to make as much as a man would.
llamagrl500 3 years ago
100% agreed! :-)
brianlynk1 3 years ago
I'm glad to see *you* (and it seems you alone) can understand it is not one-sided. But please, where on Earth did you get this feminist-induced claim that women have to work 2x hard than a man to make as much?
That *may* be true in some very backward country, but in the Western World, women earn the same as men providing they put in the SAME commitment & hours. Feminist 'claims' of 76c (to man's $1) is a blatant and proven lie.
mathewskarl 3 years ago
Only talking about other countries where women are marginalized, NOT America... Here, it is quite the opposite, and you are correct, they are often allowed to take advantage of men in divorces, etc... That is wrong, and it should change as well, so we agree on something! The problem is that in many countries, women are not even allowed to go to school...it really is a serious matter.
brianlynk1 3 years ago 2
So if we're in agreement that in USA women are not hard off (like feminists pretend), I wonder why I got thumb down for an accurate and honest comment about that fact?
I agree not being given an education is a serious matter, but I also think men dying (while women are not killed in anything close to similar numbers) is also very important. Yet, typically, mens' deaths are ignored by organisations which claim to 'care'. Just like the UN, it completely ignores men's issues.
mathewskarl 3 years ago 2
Well, statistics from different parties say different things, so it is a point of judgement. Sexism is very much a part of Western culture and it's ignorant to dismiss it in ours. And I'm a feminist, so I tend to sympathize with "feminist-induced claims" xD
fakeusername92 3 years ago
So... you believe that just because women CHOOSE to work less hours, and thus get paid less money - it is somehow discrimination? You believe that all men are rapists? You believe that 1 in 4 women are raped? And so on... And so on?
If you believe in true equality - you're obviously not a feminist. If you believe the world is bad because of men's inferiority, you are a feminist.
mathewskarl 3 years ago
Again, you are missing the point. We are not even talking about the west in general. You seem to have no concept of the way the world is outside the west. You are an angry man, hell-bent on your hatred of women, to the point where you are not being rational. There is nothing rational about you putting words into our mouths, etc. If you would read more closely, you'd see that this is a "particular" platform of CARE's.They also help men, and have been doing so since WWII. Do some homework, then post.
brianlynk1 3 years ago
Brian, do not confuse hatred of sexism with hatred of women. Doing so clearly indicates your frustration and inability to discuss in an adult environment, relying on misinformation & diversionary tactics in order to 'win'. Pretending I hate women is an outrageous lie, and one I expect an apology for.
By highlighting the sexist nature of these adverts is nothing close to misogyny. If you are incapable of comprehending this, I suggest you do your homework.

It's a shame they're only interested in defending one half though, as if the other half has no problem with also being raped, with being shot dead, with being tortured, and so forth.
Pretending only half the population faces issues is incredibly sexist & hateful.
When organisations pay attention to ALL peoples instead of placing one's needs above the other's, then perhaps I'll listen to the claims of 'care'.
mathewskarl 3 years ago
It is not about only defending one half. It is about adding the undefended half to the equation. Everyone should be defended...the women have been marginalized.
brianlynk1 3 years ago
It is about adding the women to the equation. Nobody wants to leave men out! That would be silly. But if men are going to school and being educated, why shouldn't the women be able to have the same opportunities?
brianlynk1 3 years ago
So... if 'care' is now 'adding' women to the equation (implying men are already defended), I'd be very keen to hear what they do to 'care' about men who are tortured and killed throughout the less fortunate countries?
"Nothing", you say?
"Thought so...", answered I.
So yeah, 'care' is just 'yet another' female supremacy organisation. Note how it talks of girls being all wonderful, *as if* boys are of no value.
