@Deth666Iron I think he is the one who helped Black Sabbath out with "Heaven and Hell" (and contributed uncredited), before Geezer Butler came back, once he realized the songs were THAT good. Tough luck...
this is a real cracker of a song...dio rocks, ritchie the god! this is one album that will be listened to over and over again..20 years down the road, if i m still around, i will still listen to it!
no way am i going to buy this off itunes, i will not conform to this fashion. Sure i'll put music onto itunes but never buy anything. if i couldnt find a particular album then maybe but vinyls and cd are where its at, if i bought wish you were here off itunes iwouldnt be able to look at the artwork or physically hold it, i wouldnt get the post card, i dont want everything to be on the internet vinyl and cds are still and always be important
im not looking for a argument butritchie blackmore was a dick, he broke up this perfect band cause of the bassist and drummers playing style and wanted to move it to a more comercial based direction, he may be a good guitarist but i put him around the same level as axel rose
I had the pleasure of meeting Ronnie James Dio at a Pub in the SFV, mid nineties, I remember telling him how much the music of Rainbow inspired me and how appreciative I was of his lyrics and voice. I told him that it made the band very significant and stand apart by his contributions. He was most glad to hear what I said and he did smile a lot that night.
@MrStratocaster1961 - the fact that Gruber isn't credited here has nothing to do with Ritchie, simply the uploader didn't give credit. If you check the vinyl lp or CD of this album, you will see Gruber's name listed.
Again....What's with Craig Gruber's name not giving credit!! He was one of the best musicians in the whole band!!?? What's up with this?? Ritchie....you having problems poor boy??!!
I am sooo lucky that there was a late night radio program called "Beakers' (sp?)Street." This station played "Man on the Silver Mountain" all of the time. (In 1976!) Most DJ's would not play Rainbow. Not Beakers (sp?) I was also introduced to "Captain Beyond.", a band fronted by a former Purple front man. First album was a killer. All self-respecting rockers should have the first Rainbow album, first Captain Beyond album ....1st or 2nd Led Zep well now debates will start. Good debate though.
I decided to listen to this album in its entirety. By the time I got to this tune (i was a bit out of order) I had the biggest grin on my face I've had in ages. This album defines perfection.
@rmf09020 haha Almond brothers? Allman Brothers dude. Though in your defense Duane and Gregg Allman formed a band called Allman Joys which is obviously a throwback to the Almond Joy candybar.
@Rorschachxx1985 they had some good songs with joe but yeah man they shouldn't have gotten rid of dio. Dio never sells out. Then again if they didn't we wouldn't have heaven and hell, the mob rules, or dio's solo stuff which were all great as well
yeh nice guitars man love the fuckin late 70s til late 90s damn i born 1970 when the world was goin thru some EVIL chaos & wars which i didnt later i learnt about it and now i felt sad for victims , fuck HITLER & all you mad Dictator n Traitors , damn you lucky we have fuckin Metal & are more Peaceful haha

The greatest album from the band ELF that was ever recorded. If you do not know what I am saying. Look up the band ELF.

I've just found this band today. I don't actually like much Dio-era Sabbath, but this is great music.
Reminds me of live Uriah Heap, though Blackmore blows Mick Box away
