Who should he sing bout a girl? Coz of dress? You should know that the german words used here are old-fashioned and some expressions are sounding like 18th or 19th century (as it is with many rammstein lyrics) back then "kleid" = dress did not necessarily mean a girl's dress. If you really want to enjoy Rammstein lyrics you have to speak german very well, if not perfectly. Coz many puns, expressions and "poetic elements" can't be tranlated 1:1. The english texts are always shallow in comparison

I'm pretty sure that this song is a reference to The Dreadful Story Of Pauline And The Matches, a German children's story [from "Der Struwwelpeter"]. This is why the lyrics include a feminine description [*a dress* catching on fire], because the 'narrator' of the lyrics is a girl.
