now all those who still feel somehow threared byt the doctor in drag you realy do need to just grow up or something their is nothing wrong with crossdressing and et all so come on man get a life i like this one a lot and serves you right if you still object tho this kind of thing more later

  • thats uh....English, huh?

  • NOOOOOO! nuh-uh! Devid Tennant had a role as a transsexual... no way... that's not right... never thought I'd see the day

he did an amazing job, though...

  • The Doctor in drag...? Okay, NOW I've seen everything.

  • I had a friend from Glasgow, he was really hard to understand, but it was really funny when he put on an "American" accent. This is awesome!

  • aww he is soo hot :)

  • AHH, this is WONDERFUL! I'll keep saying it, DT is hot no matter what gender presentation he goes for! <3

Although, being a crass and pathetic American, couldn't understand half of what was being said by all the men in the scene... :-/

  • I can understand like every tenth word! Nice accent

  • *Is lolling so much*

He makes me laugh soooo much. XD

  • Does this mans talent never end?

  • north americans....

  • no offence intended, but why is it I understand every permatation of American accent, but Americaans don't understand anything other than middle-class London English??? I understand even The Long Good Friday had subtitles!!! Easy enough to understand if you listen closely

  • this is irrelevant, but I'm not American.

anyway, um, I think it's that the American accent really just isn't complicated. no matter which English-speaking country you're from, it's quite easy to understand American English.

i really do wish i could understand the Scottish accent... but I just can't.

  • lol loved this show keep up the good work :)

  • It's more of a West Lothian accent - he comes from Bathgate, between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

  • davina mccall?

  • lol

  • what was this from?

  • rab c nesbit

  • Wow, he's hot as a woman... XD (and I'm a lesbian, so you must know he's very convincing. XD)

  • im a lesbo too. though i wouldnt do him lol

  • This was actually the second thing he did...

  • He's beautiful as anything. I think he makes a lovely woman, actually. Is that wrong? LOL ;-)

  • looooooooooooooooooooooool

  • I can't actually understand what they're saying half the time, which is sad >.>

But I'm sure they'd take the mick out of me for my London/Southern accent, so that's okay xD

  • i kno! half the time i was like: ... wat was that sorry? oh well, dt has the cutest accent tho!!!! ; )

  • I thought it was just me being Danish who had a time understandig what they were saying...

  • i sorta did

but it sounds abit like Belfast to me

  • I laughed from the moment he turned around until about five minutes after the clip ended. David Tennant is THE best. Ever.

  • This is too funny. :) I've heard conversations like this at the local drag bar.

  • What year was this?

  • early 00's as this looks like chewin the fat or some charicatures from that BBC SCOTLAND program

  • Okay. I know I'm a gone Tennant fan when I would still do him in drag. *laughs*

  • sorry whats that mean?

  • omg until this moment everything i had watched with david tennant had been gorgeous but that......... i think i might have to go and lie down for a while... hes still hot though, just not on this lol

  • lollers!

  • That was .. hilarious. XD

  • *banging head on desk* OH. MY. FRIGGIN. GOSH.

  • well david tennant is from Paisly on the west coast of bonny scotland i believe...the other guys are glaswegian though :D

  • DT is from Paisley, sorry had to correct the mis-spelling of my town.

Although the accents are Glaswegian not everyone speaks like this in West Scotland, just the majority lol.

  • The show was called Rab. C Nesbitt - this was not his tv debut - it was in an episode of "Dramarama".

  • thanks, i made a mistake

  • one year+ on and its still called "David Tennant's TV Debut as a Transsexual Barmaid" why no changes hunny, also can i ask politly, and with respect, wht you know of transseualism or gender dysphoria? oh and copyright law?

  • 1, i just cant tbe bothered to change the title.

2, im dating a transwoman. transwomen, transmen and genderqueers are amoung my closest friends. i know plenty.

3, im not profiting from the clip being here and havent been asked to remove it by the makers. i dont really care about copyright law when it comes to this.

  • protct yourself? from what?

    no. i am not.

  • What the fuck is your problem?

  • That's hilarious, I've always understood all the accents I've heard, but that one stumped me. Wanna go to glasgow!

  • hahaah!!!!!!!!!!! He's making a habit of this corss dressing :P :P :P

    thanks xxx

  • OMG!!! I was laughing so hard I couldn't breath!!!!!

  • omg wen was this???? *slightly disturbed*

  • Really, really strong Glasgow. I live there now and I don't think the accents are quite so strong anymore.

  • I can't understand it either! Its so thick, you'd be able to cut it up with a chainsaw! What accent is this, by the way? Scouse?

  • glasgow:)

  • Wow. I guess I can't understand accents that thick. It was interesting, but I couldn't really catch what was said.

  • I'd seen this one before...his first TV appearance, you say? He looked very, very young in Takin' Over the Asylum. Wasn't that his first?

  • i thought this was. no biggie if it wasent

  • Turns out I was wrong as well...according to imbd DT's first TV role was 'Neil McDonald' on Dramarama's "The Secret of Croftmore" in 1988. The above appearance on Rab C. Nesbitt came in 1993.

As you said, no biggie...it just goes to show how talented an actor he is...and terribly funny to boot!

    Thanks for sharing it.
