anyway, um, I think it's that the American accent really just isn't complicated. no matter which English-speaking country you're from, it's quite easy to understand American English.

i really do wish i could understand the Scottish accent... but I just can't.

Turns out I was wrong as well...according to imbd DT's first TV role was 'Neil McDonald' on Dramarama's "The Secret of Croftmore" in 1988. The above appearance on Rab C. Nesbitt came in 1993.

As you said, no biggie...it just goes to show how talented an actor he is...and terribly funny to boot!
