  • Skyrim FTW!

  • Greensleeves is best played on harp by Merlin in a sports jacket.

  • OMG. Youtube has done it for me again. Ever since I was a kid I have LOVED this song, but I never knew what it was called or who composed it, etc.. I never really took the time to research it either, I just knew I liked it. Of course, I had no clue what to expect before he began playing. After the first 4 notes I was just humming along. FREAKIN AWESOME!! Now I know the title and some history behind it. Freaking cool...

  • This tune always makes me want to go watch the old redwall cartoons

  • Beautiful absolutely beautiful. I come from Jerusalem, I'm sitting in Sydney Australia, and I'm listening to this fabulous music. I love it - music is the international language!

no of fence to you other harpists but this is the best i seen on youtube so far

  • this guy looks like dumbledore

  • The lyrics to this song make me think of that awful modern song "Grenade". Needless to say this version of "How could you ditch me after all I did for you?" is much preferable.

  • Apparently king henry the eighth wrote that song just a bit of history for you

  • i fell in love with greensleeves when he started 2 paly it no kidding

  • Are you a wizard?

  • @karazeetomable No, not a wizard, just a druid. :-)

  • These days, we seldom hear something so beautiful.

  • may the angels of music stay always with you

  • I get shivers when I hear this song played, and you play it so wonderfully. I'm just starting to learn this song, so I am on my way to being a card carrying harpist :) I haven't learned Danny Boy or Pachelbel's Canon in D but I have the music for those, so I'll be working on those soon. Thank you for the inspiration!

  • do you strum with your fingers or your finger nails (not a harp player)

  • @thekingjacob100 I use the finger pads of my left hand to pluck the strings (playing the low notes) and use the fingernails of my right hand (playing the high notes). Several types of harps are played using just the finger pads, several other types of harps are played using just the fingernails.

  • GREATEST HAIR EVER

  • Please, let me say this (besides the music).... What a beautiful hair!!! :)

  • this isn't a normal harp, isn't it? ... there are 3 orders of strings!.... is it a baroque harp?

  • @dragonedorato It is a cross-strung harp, meaning there's a string for every note - including accidentals.

  • Whoa...that is really nice twist on the traditional chords around 4:20. Never heard that done before, and it was very unexpected. I didn't know you could do those kinds of voicings on a folk harp.

  • Damn... that harp player dude looks like warrel dane

  • Is that jazzy middle part in some kind of whole-tone scale?

  • Lord of the rings?

  • Awesome.

  • Very, very nice! Thanks for that.

  • This is sweet. I'm subscribing to the podcast now.

  • DUDE! YOUR JACKED OUT OF YOUR F***ING MIND!!!!!!!! That was awesome, I loved the progression into more complexity. I particularly liked the beginning of the third part, that part you're not used to hearing, when it starts out lower, goes up, then surprises you with that arabian kind of twist downward or something, hitting a minor or something at 4:28

  • OMG dude u rocked that thing hellz yeah

  • i like bands like hardcore bands like chiodos pierce the veil and devil wears prada and i love greensleeves!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hermoso!

  • Awesome

  • This song sounds so full and vibrant on a harp

I am a Rock fan first and foremost. I love Led Zeppelin, Guns n Roses, Metallica, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Nirvana ect. I believe Greensleeves is the most beautiful song in the history of mankind. It just goes to show a great song is a great song no matter whence it came

  • Great example of showing the two schools of playing this great surviving piece of nostalgia from the pre-baroque and combining them to one. The cross-stringing iswhat caught my eye besides the amazing playing and sound, - quite extraordinary, I had no idea that was done with harps. Anyways, a wonderful treat :) Thank you.

  • what a beautiful harp, what kind of model is it?

very beautuful arrangement, great harper tasche!

  • I'm playing a Rigel model harp (61 strings, stave back) made by Blessley Instruments of Vancouver, Washington.

  • @harpertasche well done...

  • Less talking and more playing would have been nice. Nevertheless a nice version.

  • uauu

  • Loove his improvisation!

  • is that john virgo playing the organ at the beginning?

  • No, that is Mark Andersen

  • Its the great white wizard gandalf!

  • funny hairstyle but magnificant handplay at the harp
