@raggonn His species name is actually Holy Angemon. The dub name would be MagnaAngemon.

Lord's just actually a title translated. Without translation his name is Holy Angemon-sama.

And no, he isn't a different Digimon species from MangaAngemon. He's just wearing his priestly clothes instead of his battle outfit. (This is explained in MangaAngemon's profile).

It's kind of their fault for not realising that it's the same Digimon, even if Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 wasn't released as an official dub in the US. They do kind of look the same, and a bit of research never hurt anyone =P

But then again, you're right that if they simply just kept the original names, it would've made things much, much easier.

This has been done officially in the Digimon Pendulum Zero. Under normal conditions, when you Jogress an Adult Digimon and a Perfect Digimon of the same attribute, the Adult evolves, but the perfect Digimon doesn't.

So if you Jogressed Angemon and Ange Womon (both Virus Busters), Angemon would evolve into Ange Womon, but the original Ange Womon wouldn't evolve.

The Digimon shown here is Holy Angemon in his regular clothes (not the battle uniform that he uses in the games and in Digimon Adventure). Holy Angemon is dubbed MangaAngemon in the American version.

You also have to consider that Seraphimon is a Seraphim (kindling fire angel) 熾天使型 Digimon, and Holy Dramon is a Holy Dragon Digimon 聖竜型. Although Holy dragons aren't part of the Judeochristian angelic hierarchy, Seraphim beats Archangel.

Secondly Super Ultimate isn't a level, it's a ranking for Ultimate level Digimon (dubbed "Mega"), which only appears in Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01.

The only three Super Ultimates known are all from V-Tamer. They are: Demon Super Ultimate, Arkadimon Super Ultimate and Alforce V-Dramon Super Ultimate Future Mode.

It's important to note that the level of all three on each of their cards is still Final/Ultimate. When a Final/Ultimate Digimon evolves, they still are Final/Ultimate, the level doesn't change, because there is no higher level. Super Ultimate is a *rank* added to their name =)

Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 is a manga that came before Digimon Adventure (what lots of people call "Season 1"). But like I said, the Super Ultimate rank only exists there. There were also games before Digimon Adventure, Digimon World and Digital Monster versions WonderSwan and Saturn.

Beside, you'll also fall behind if you don't watch anything new.

@leo16mmiv If it's because you're afraid to try anything new, you have to be aware that Digimon Adventure introduced many new elements to the show (like Chosen Children, before that everyone was a Tamer; Crests and evolutionary shortcuts that you won't end up paying for afterwards; evil Digimon, before that every villain was human).

Digimon Adventure was pretty new and different for its time. Digimon Tamers was a revisit to Digimon's roots. So don't be afraid to try something new.

@NanosoftRussia Actually, they meant not to continue Digimon Adventure in Xros Wars. (It's 4 series after 02 after all). The only one that's supposed to continue Digimon Adventure and 02 is Tamers, which you sound probably watch before the others.

It's still Digimon though. Only Bandai can decide.

You'll be surprised that the dubs changed a lot of things. A lot of the dialogue isn't found in the original Japanese version of Digimon Adventure, although the gist of it is more or less the same.

It count as canon. The TV relies on these games in particular. It is revealed in these games that Apocalymon was released from the Firewall by none other than Millenniumon. Ryo is seen in Our War Game watching the fight with Diablomon. And the scene where Ryo and Ken defeat Millenniumon before he unleashes the Dark spore onto Ken is seen in Digimon Adventure 02.

The games also have the same name as their anime counterparts.

However the word "continuation" implies temporal sequence, not same location, kind of like if a story started in Africa and ended in North America. You wouldn't say it's a different story.

Brave Tamer follows a story that starts in the Adventure universe and ends up in the Tamers universe. The Ryo that we see in Our War Game and in Ken's flashback is the same Ryo as the one in Tamers.

If it really was a continuation, then the digital world would look just like the one in adventure, and they could have easily gotten other digidestined to join them seeing as in adventure they explained that any child that has seen a digimon at least once in their life will become one. Also the fact that Ryo knows the original digidestined as well.

@YujinXshadow That's true =) However more relevant to this video, in the Digimon Pendulum Version Zero (Virus Busters), jogressing Angemon and Ange Womon results in Angemon evolving into Ange Womon, and Ange Womon not evolving. Because Ange Womon is already one level higher than Angemon.

In the second Nature Spirits pendulum (Version 1.5), there's also an Ange Womon, but she isn't JOGRES-compatible with Angemon who only shows up in Virus Busters :-P
