Earl was the absolute best mgr. He was a genius---no one platooned players or used their entire roster better. And no one was funnier when he argued w/ the umps and got tossed. After this, my fav is when he kept kicking dirt on home plate. But unlike Billy martin, he didnt kick the dirt on the ump. Orioles had the best record in baseball from 1966-1986, andEarl managed them most of those yrs
