I shampoo my 4 kits every 3 days w/conditioner 2 keep the skin soft.Sum ppl r saying they dont wash their kits but once a month.No wonder so many babies die..They're getting infections from being dirty & their homes probably stink 2 high heaven w/flys.My kits like the bath.1 swims on his back doing the backstroke.Kits r in the otter family ppl.Its common sense.This guys kits RUN 2 the shower.WASH UR KITS PPL!!! @SmokinMo11 bathing ferrets to often actually makes them smell WORSE as it makes their skin produce more oils that needed and makes them become yellow-er than normal too. They would only get an infection from a dirty cage if it had mange mites resulting in FOOT ROT which can be FATAL if not treated properly! All five of my ferrets live in a cage together which gets completely cleaned out once a week and the litter changed twice a day. They are not smelly nor do they have flies on them.

@carapar56 Yep, pretty normal for ferrets. I love to get them riled up so they start hopping around like crazed insane jumping beans. I think they just get so excited they just go into spasms and lose all coordinated muscle control.

Man, I bet you guys clean up poop all day long with four of them!! (or are there more?) We have two and it's a constant clean-up commitment. They refuse to be litter-trained.

@shmea11111 They need exercise, and you can walk them if you want, but... they don't HAVE to be walked. It is advised that they get like 2-4+ hours of exercise/socialization a day, just get em out of the cage, lol.

Ferret math at work!!! I've had up to ten ferrets at a time. In late 90s I moved into a 4-plex (2 up 2 down)... as I was bringing in my ferrets (sneaking them in, that is) a ferret ball came bouncing down the stairs... I went to the apartment above me, knocked on the door and said "how many do you have??" The two gays tried to deny it at first, but I said "I have ten." They LOL'd and ushered me inside. They'd turned their 2nd bedroom into a ferret room... they had 15 ferrets! What'r the odds?
