I know how this illusion is performed and I can tell you this, not 1 bird, person or thing is harmed in anyway, the prestige movie was based in the 1800's where animal cruelty didn't exists

dove is consider a protected animal in magic. if there's a slight harm to any dove, that magician is not allowed to perform any dove magic anymore.

poor performance. two slow switching the birds. the lady came from behind. the cameraman filmed half of the stage. The smaller bird got crushed or severely injured.
