  • Perfect set up and swing. Thanks for posting this one. I refer to it a lot when talking with my friends about proper set up. Many golfers these days are confused and set up with an open clubface because that's how these new clubs set if a golfer just lays it on the ground. The rear of Ryo's clubhead is up off the ground and it appears the clubface is not visible to his eye's at setup as he's aligned the top line of the club perpendicular to the target line...Perfect. K.

  • he needs to control that right foot better :P

  • That is a huge move to the left side. Really impressive athleticism

  • holy crap his back foot nearly comes off the ground like some of the long drive guys

  • Critique of a PGA players swing? Really? Ridiculous!

  • The three dislikes are Larry, Moe and Curly. I bet we all know someone just as full of themselves as these three poor bastards!

  • I was a solid player in HS but I can't imagine going to a tournament and playing beside him in a school tourny. I think this kid will start winning the next couple years once he learns how to win in the US tour.

  • slice?

  • This song is relaxing!

    ...

    What's it called? c:

  • Don't forget to come and check out Ryo Ishikawa on our skills video!!!!

  • This guy is definitly one to watch for in the near future of golf.

  • Great swing

  • i've seen this guy play, and he really goes after it, but damn he's a fucking awesome player.

  • watch out helicopter! check your altitude!

  • jeez listen to you guys go. there is no such thing as a 'proper' golf swing... think moe norman, fred couples, ray floyd, lee trevino, david duval, ryo ishikawa... there is more than one way to skin a cat. you can't look at parts of a golf swing - isolate them and label them as 'right' or 'wrong' because nothing in the golf swing happens in isolation.

  • @bjnwright Ummmm.... yes you can. There are parts of the swing that have to be in the correct position otherwise you won't hit it properly. All pro swings look different but all of them are at the same position at the parts that matter.

  • He needs to keep his right leg straiter at impact and have the left leg move less until later in the swing, good swing otherwise

  • I don't think a stance of that width is a very good idea, unless you have the insane flexibility of Ishikawa.

  • impact, well struck. You play, you lose. He's ninja, your number ten good golf.

  • he has a tendence to slice the ball, that means he must train to get better. I think handicap 13

  • Love all you idiots criticizing a tour player who has shot a 58. I know I know you guys shot lower scores on your xbox.

  • @dolfnman only thing put in that golf swing is time!!!!!

  • The right foot slid was produced by a small great golfer - Ben Hogan before. Ryo is only about one inch taller than hogan, and his distance is longer than Anthony Kim and the Big easy ernie els. evidented in master last year when they played together. Ryo was the last to hit the ball when they hit the second shot.

  • well how do you know he knew he was being videoed lo

  • how do you know he wasnt trying to hit a fade??

  • @BadAssDrummer001 when people video their swings they try to swing to perfection, but my bad if he was trying to set an example of a fade swing path

  • Check out our new ryo ishikawa video

  • stance is too wide which isnt allowing his body to fully rotate, which caused that fade, out to in swing path

  • @billynut1 the hell are you talking about, he has more than enough body rotation

  • @srscrippler only because of his left knee, look at his hip rotation, its restricted. Also think back to basics, legs shoulder width apart.

  • @billynut1 well it reminds me a of tiger driving, restricted hips but full shoulder turn with a large stance, so yeah you are right, with the hips, but he preduces a hell of a lot of torque because of his shoulders getting that rotation against his hips which because of the wide stance leads to a lot more stable swing while producing a hell of a lot of power for such a small guy

sorry i came off harsh, you are right :P

  • @srscrippler i couldn't agree more mate! and no worries, good swing overall though

  • @srscrippler restricted hips? look at which way his belt buckle is facing at the top of his swing.

  • @lewisislame i dont think it is, im not across the line shut at the top and very upright and hit it 500m in the air. so watch what you say,

  • what all people have to understand is it is about the plane of the club from chest to chest. although all most every pro has a different swing, they all have outstanding fundamentals and have grooved their swings to the point that when they are under stress they can rely on it. it is all about the slotting the club in the proper plane for impact position. all pro's have the same of and their fundamentals are just crazy good. ryo was only in H.S. when this happened. it was good, it is better now.

  • shit swing, across the line, shut and very up right, and he hit it way to high so he might of skyed it because thats way to high, but good impact.. dont know whats so good about this swing in junior high??

  • @willnicklaus12 better than yours asshole

  • everyone seems to turn into a golf professional when someone puts a swing video on youtube

  • 58 is 58... full stop....

  • Love all the golf pro's on here giving the guy who can shoot a "58" shit about his swing. There is no perfect swing, if there were, then every tour pro's swing would look the same and they dont. I dont see anyone giving Jim F. shit about his swing, and thats a goddamn ugly ass swing, but one of a PGA champion.

  • anyone who fancies themselves a "true American" is indeed arrogant and deluded.

  • Obviously the guy can play incredibly well. His motion can be made more efficient however. His release is actually pretty poor - he just fips the club over rather than advancing the clubhead around the circle freely with his hands. Notice how the right forearm lines up with the shaft. He is not accelerating through impact. Again, I'm not knocking his overall game, just saying that he can be better.

  • @Inmotion70 oh that's right there is a driver in his hands not an iron.

  • so buttery

  • who gives a fuck about this slant eyed terd. Golf is for americans

  • @Lithorseman .....what? I think Scottish people have a right to play it too.

  • @Lithorseman

Lighthorseman you are a true American, stupid and arrogant. Have you ever heard of Scotland, the home of golf you absolute tard. Go take a history lesson numbnuts!!!

  • @Glenno456971 I would have to disagree because I am American. Lithorseman is in the "stereotype" section of Americans, and yes I think to he is arrogant and stupid by far, but I am a true American also and I'm no where stupid or arrogant. So I ask you please do not think all Americans are bad.

  • @Lithorseman who invented it?, like evrrything else u, if it was for anybody its for the brits.

  • @Lithorseman who invented it?, like everything else u, if it was for anybody its for the brits.

  • @icthruu4evr

    HAHAHAHA

  • @ollycopter Its called a high draw faggot

  • @Getatmefoo232

ur right ishikawa's natural shot is right - to - left

  • He so skied that drive.. Look how high it goes on the last view..

  • @ollycopter He didn't sky it. That was going to draw back into the fairway if u knew anything about golf.

  • @RabbiKareem Oh I am sorry, I did not know you were Bizhub himself... And Ishikawa is a power fader, But then you knew that right?

  • Unbelievable coil in the backswing. Congrats on the Sunday 58!

  • small guys - ie Anthony kim - need the weight transfer to stay with in 300 yrd mark... Not the easiest way for most to be accurate...see tiger 16 to tiger swing 27...he got rid of most of the movement all over...or atleast tries to...

  • he slid a shit-ton. im not insulting his golf game. he his a boss, just saying he slid a lot

  • what a swing, all the power comes from the hip movement.

  • Girl

  • dudes a baller

  • haha his stance is so wide that his back foot literally comes off the ground through impact

  • @richlim10 his stance isnt wide. that is the proper width for a driver

  • @Longshot32 its also a good way to get kicked in the balls. so remmeber keep your leggs closed

  • @richlim10 i am pretty sure he can play much better than you though...eyes closed....with his wide stance and his foot coming off through impact...hahahaha

  • @richlim10 Ya. That was Ben Hogan's slid. Ben Hogan did that a lot in his swing.

  • first

  • @horacewild

    Congrats...Checks in the mail
