The building which in many places was built to withstand 10 times the stress fell at near free fall acceleration. WTC 7 48 columns failed instantly is ridiculous unless demolition was used. We're talking about a column that probably had to support 50,000 lbs per square inch of force. Most likely was desgined to support 60k lbs psi for safety.
Melting would mean it would be plastic- basically zero support. But it does not have to reach zero to fail. If it loses 25% of its structural integrity- 45,000 lbs per square inch instead of 60k, it will fail.

The floors were not built to withstand anything except the live and dead loads on each specific floor. One the top floors gave in- it was pancake time and the rest of the floors folded like a house of cards. Go look at the strucktural system of those floors. No way any of those floors could withstand multiple other floors dropping on them.

For me this and many other facts around 9/11 prove that we need people asking questions.
@iiredeye It could happen. If you have 3 columns that support, say 50,000 lbs per square inch, middle one fails, that means the columns right next to it are supposed to pick up the slack. But they can't carry 75,000 lbs psi. so they fail right away. And then others and others. It is like a domino effect, so it could fall almost at free fall speed. Plus, i'm sure those other columns were already weakened by the fire, so it's not like they needed a lot to fail.

I am an engineer, I have been for the last 20+ yrs, I am not a civil engineer or an architect, but I have been involved in structural steel work. The WTC was built around 24 steel columns, each of those huge columns had a sectional thickness of upto 1", the idea that a aluminium framed aircraft could somehow shear these giant beams is ridiculous, those planes that hit the towers would have been cut up like potato chips.

@normalais They never melted...they were cut, if you look on other youtube postings you will see still images of the ends of the steel section that had been clean cut. Now let me tell you, I have personally cut sections of steel similar in size and shape to those in the WTC with an oxy-acetylene torch...and you can trust me on this, steel of that thickness takes a hell of a lot to cut through it, certainly a lot more than an impact from an aluminum space frame and a kerosene fire.

You use a strobe light to measure different positions and times of the ball's path as it falls. When you measure the distance the ball falls in second 1, it's larger than what it was in second 2 so in second 1, it falls 1/2(32)(1)^2 = 16 ft, in second 2 it's 1/2(32)(2)^2 = 64 ft, etc.
You can measure it in the film of WTC7, it matches.

Since it's a public firm, in the public domain, and you are an architect or engineer we can obviously verify your claim....I happen to work for a engineering firm as a consultant in cost estimating (civil, structural, EMP) I've done huge auditoriums, skyscrapers, rail systems, etc., any architect or engineer that looks at wtc7 realizes very quickly it was a demolition job, as did I.

Why a demolition job? A 6 or so hour fire can easily weaken a steel frame to failure. Because it fell so uniformly? I guess we just haven't had enough such events in history to compare to. If there was a huge fire (like FDNY said), it could have fallen pretty uniformly and very quickly. Unless you think FDNY was in on it.
Thermite? It is not an explosive and it's probably present on every large demolition site.

@ralphla54 Fires do not typically move on in 20 minutes. And if there is a fire ti will not burn in one isolated place, but it will spread very quickly. Have you ever even seen a real fire? In a regular house it can spread through a room in one minute easy. We're talking 1000-1500F temperatures.
Looking at the video it sure looks like the fire was spread out more than on just "one beam".
And FDNY also said the fire was massive.

Ladder 15, we've got two isolated pockets of fire. We should be able to knock it down with two lines. Radio that, 78th floor numerous 10-45 Code Ones...at 9:52AM right before it collapsed. FDNY said the fires were massive in building 7. Which is why they pulled the fire fighters out of there. Again, if you do not agree with that, you must think FDNY was in on it.

So, let's discuss that, How can steal melt and weaken with minimal fires that could be put out by fire fighters that reached the impact floors? and WTC7, picture evidence shows very small fires. But if you want to talk about the two towers: a huge passenger plane hit each of them. Are you really crazy enough to believe that they would not collapse? As an architect I can tell you I would have been shocked if they did not collapse.

@syborius I recall watching the news and I don't know what news cast said they were going to demo building 7 in order to control the fire, because the damage was beyond repair. However, from my understanding it takes a long time to set up demo explosives.

@normalais WTC1/2 were built to withstand 100MPH winds. Steel fails slowly and not rapidly especially when heated. The building which in many places was built to withstand 10 times the stress fell at near free fall acceleration. WTC 7 48 columns failed instantly is ridiculous unless demolition was used. The center core columns went to bedrock and were tightly bound and should have stood even with the floor collapse. AGAIN go to AE911TRUTH LOOK up WTC7 on you tube and watch the lie

Third you are in disagreement with the official story that 1 column failed causing an instantaneous collapse of the entire building. We're talking about a column that probably had to support 50,000 lbs per square inch of force. Most likely was desgined to support 60k lbs psi for safety.
Melting would mean it would be plastic- basically zero support. But it does not have to reach zero to fail. If it loses 25% of its structural integrity- 45,000 lbs per square inch instead of 60k, it will fail.

@ralphla54 I've no idea what forces it was built to withstand. I just gave out 50kips and 60kips for argument sake and because it is easier to compute.
The floors were not built to withstand anything except the live and dead loads on each specific floor. One the top floors gave in- it was pancake time and the rest of the floors folded like a house of cards. Go look at the strucktural system of those floors. No way any of those floors could withstand multiple other floors dropping on them.

@normalais Maybe so but don't you think there might have been some kind of resistance? the towers fell at terminal velocity, i.e if you had dropped a brick from a helicopter next to them they would all have reached the ground at the same time. For me this and many other facts around 9/11 prove that we need people asking questions.

@iiredeye It could happen. If you have 3 columns that support, say 50,000 lbs per square inch, middle one fails, that means the columns right next to it are supposed to pick up the slack. But they can't carry 75,000 lbs psi. so they fail right away. And then others and others. It is like a domino effect, so it could fall almost at free fall speed. Plus, i'm sure those other columns were already weakened by the fire, so it's not like they needed a lot to fail.

@normal is This is one of the main points I struggle with! I am an engineer, I have been for the last 20+ yrs, I am not a civil engineer or an architect, but I have been involved in structural steel work. The WTC was built around 24 steel columns, each of those huge columns had a sectional thickness of upto 1", the idea that a aluminium framed aircraft could somehow shear these giant beams is ridiculous, those planes that hit the towers would have been cut up like potato chips.

@normalais They never melted...they were cut, if you look on other youtube postings you will see still images of the ends of the steel section that had been clean cut. Now let me tell you, I have personally cut sections of steel similar in size and shape to those in the WTC with an oxy-acetylene torch...and you can trust me on this, steel of that thickness takes a hell of a lot to cut through it, certainly a lot more than an impact from an aluminum space frame and a kerosene fire.

Have you seen a fire in real life? Have you seen how fast it spreads??? I've seen many. A fire can take over a private home in 45 seconds to 2 minutes. 8 hours is forever.

All of which has been explained by independent investigators from places like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Perdue University, Discovery, National Geographic as perfectly normal for a steel truss building exposed to fire. WTC7 is also evidence. It is evidence that this building has been brought down by controlled demolition. You talk about MIT researchers. What about Jeff King, he is a researcher from MIT. There were parts of airplane ALL OVER the Pentagon grounds. You can view these photos online by typing pentagon 9/11 in your search bar. There's NO evidence of thermite of any type at Ground Zero, nor evidence of the demo wires/switches/ignition sources required to set it off if it were there.

@jacobeast1 there were parts found at the Pentagon indeed but not of a Boeing 757. On the photos you see some parts of an engine but these parts are not of a Boeing 757. Have you ever looked how a real plane crash looks like, the debris you will find? Why does the government give us just a few frames of footage while they have footage of multiple camera's. Also the footage they give us has been fudged with. People involved with ae911truth have found nano thermite in multiple dust samples.

@edicccc How do you know what a 757s engine looks like? Yes I've seen several (military and the flight that went down in Queens, NY right after 9/11);all of them look the same. Larger, sturdier parts (landing gear, engines etc.) survive but the lighter aluminum stuff (fuselage, wings) get pulverized. And that's not even planes that have been rammed into a reinforced concrete building at 500 mph.

He DOES NOT work for MIT and his study/experiment is a spare time thing. Again, where is this evidence? Steel loses strength and fails after exposure to heat. Period. Jeff King is a physician somewhere, but he never did any research at MIT. There is trace amounts of the same byproducts construction gasses used in welding give off in the dust Jones claims to contain nano thermite (which may not even really exist) and he is unable to conclusively prove that is not the cause of the iron particles he found. All anybody had to do was park a few 18 wheelers with high grade explosives (if they had nanothermite they had that) under one of the towers and let her rip.
