There is a difference from then & now. You see the people on the alter then but now you see the money on the alter. ( WHO STARTED THIS IGNORANCE) It's an alter not a wishing well. Worship seems to be different back then & now you hear the hype system in play, while the sounds only seem to become louder with the promise of blessings

This is a offering to God.The money is the issue the offering to God. Giving Him your best.is what is on the altar not the money. It's like the widow giving her last because she loved God, she gave her best which was her only.

If you love someone you would give him your best which is your only way of expressing love.

Regardless, however people who can access the love of the universe, it's all good. The human experience is too fraught with incomprehensible emotions and experiences not to need some outlet for mind, body, and spirit ("just stop it" doesn't always work! ;-)

It's a shame some of the loudest "followers" (in no way true "disciples" of a loving savior) distort the message of love to bash... gives stuff like this a bad name :-/.
