I love how much detail they put into their storylines. I just read the whole Eye or Tyr storyline today starting with Hero and the CHIKARA special and ending with Claudio & Ares' group and I have to say that's just phenomenal forward planning or fantastic writing.
Only problem is there's only about 4 or 5 guys in the company I'd enjoy watching so I could never get fully into it, but top notch story telling.
@Elementman I totally agree with your first paragraph. Tying the two stories together makes it that much better. To think that the BDK was three years in the making is unprecedented in wrestling. WWE sort of did something like that with the Kane / Undertaker feud, part 4573 and it led to Kane's best mic work ever.
I wish Chikara would come closer to me so I could go watch them live.
Mantis gives Storm a cheap win over Hydra. Gives the counter to Hero. Who gets Vins mask due to the bet match. Thus Heros hate. Creates the sick and twisted leader of the unstable. Shane Storm flips out and becomes Stigma. Colin goes for a coffee break up north. Comes back mental damaged. and now Heros off never to be seen again. Leaving behind the most evil, nasty and smelly trio in Chikara history. All thanks to Hero and Mantis. May the Eye of Tyr take revenge for the chikarmy.
@TraciPeteyforlife you know, my hate for Mantis just grew, because I can't stand the UnStable. Vin's a cheap mesh of Jimmy Jacobs and Raven that doesn't work very well. STIGMA and Delaney are both mediocre at best.
A good compilation of the NWA World's Junior Heavyweight Champion. Mike, just keep working hard and that will be a step toward getting the NWA back up again. Also, if you don't know it, former boxer and wrestler Scott LeDoux recently revealed that he has Lou Gehrig's Disease. My cousin died from this in Dec. 2007. Please remember him.
@nodqisme222 That's true. Personally, I would like to see the NWA do a pay-per-view in Waterloo, Iowa, say in July. It was there in 1948 that the NWA formed. It would only be fitting IMO. Also, for everyone's information reading this, Adam Pearce regained the NWA World Title in a triple threat against Blue Demon, Jr. and Phil Shatter on March 14 in Charlotte, NC.
@kingoflightsworn2 Quack & Jigsaw(who replaced Tim Donst) beat Stigma & Colin Delaney.

Who's actually in charge of booking Chikara? 'Cos this was some of the best plotting in wrestling
Looneyboyo 1 year ago
@Looneyboyo I think it's Quackenbush who is in charge of most of the booking.

@Looneyboyo What's really cool is the BDK invasion was started pretty much the same time Quackenbush debuted the Chikara Special on Hero.

Stupid question: What DVD (if any) is this available on? Is it on the 12.14.08 DVD?
Thanks! I'm new to Chikara, and I think this would be a good starting place for my buying the DVDs.

I gave the thumbs down to STIGMA at KoT... anyway, it would've meant more if he unmasked completely. Nevertheless I like the Unstable.

Damn you Mantis! I hope Vokoder takes you out.

What really makes this vid is including Kingston on commentary marking out when Quack hits the Tiger Driver '91.
But only in CHIKARA do you get stuff this intricate and yet still so easy to understand.

@mkl62 Buddy, the NWA needs more than Quack to get them anywhere near the top.
