A caveat: The T-38 is notorious for cooking IPs or anyone in the back seat. A favorite "initiation" for new T-38 IPs is to stick them in the back and have a senior IP up front cook them on a ride until they puke. So I can see why the IP was upset. Once again, hilarious for those that actually know what was going on. Note: neither of my comments was designed to knock the civilian CFI, just know there is a difference between the two worlds and stop hating. Either way, we're all still flying :D
For all the CFI's commenting...this isn't a CFI, this is an USAF IP in a T-38. There is no comparison between USAF pilot training and civilian systems. I've done both and the CFIs in the civilian world always rubbed my back and wiped my butt for me but in the USAF the point was to put you under as much stress as possible. Getting screamed at or having the back of your seat pounded on (in a tandem aircraft) is all normal and the fact that there is a communication barrier makes it hilarious...
This instructor is an asshole, if he was a good CFI he would be more patient with his students and understand that there is a language difference and try to help the student instead of just yelling at him. Terrible CFI.
The inst. is a total A-Hole. I have 26K hours of flying, 8000 of which as an inst. I taught kids, people in their 70's, the crippled, an amputee, even a Japanese stud. Never did I ever speak above a normal tone of voice. You learn better in a relaxed environment. If there's trouble thinking thru a problem it doesn't help to add denigration to the situation. That impedes the thought and therefore the learning process. If you don't have the patience to be an instructor then you shouldn't be one!
The first and foremost problem, is the language barrier. There is a reason the FAA has implemented the "English Proficient" endorsement for pilot certificates. It's not the students fault, it's the screening process. As a CFI/II/MEI who primarily trains Foreign pilot applicants, I can completely understand the Instructors frustrations. Pilot applicants should not be accepted without the ability to fully understand / converse in Aviation English.
TRUST ME.. as a CFI... that deals with foreign students on a REGULAR basis... language barrier is a very difficult thing to get by.. and when the heat is ON, its HOT... to the point, where you can hardly breath, and it makes you very pissed off.. so its not hard to understand what he is going through.. give the guy a break... =)
haha not a "CFI" by the civi sense of the word, this was a military training flight. And the heaters in those trainers are no joke being jet powered haha.
Is not that bad....the kids we have in the States perform much better than the guy in the video....Yes as IP(cfi) it's easy to cross the line....Ciao and fly safe.
the instructor is having a panich attack, but that is because he is being burned alive. as if criticize an instructor who wants heat turned off? I hope that student doesnt get his wings. but that situation is damm funny ahaha
WTF STUPID COMMENT BLOCKER SHIT THINGY but anyways wow this is funny but does anyone else have problems with the posting to many comments thingy ? u put in the RIGHT LETTERS and it says they are wrong..
TURN THE GOD DAMN HEAT OFF jesus crist , WHAT ? hahaha
foreign pilots should be fluent in English. I for one can fully understand the frustration of the CFI but agree with westie that he might have gone into panic mode...
Although I do love all the other "aviation experts" who think that they know what sid of the plane "environment controls" are on, especially in a tywo seat trainer F-16 where the trainer sits behind the student pilot. There is no co-pilot side.
I seriously doubt this is a fake. I have been on the wrong end of angry Captains before and if you turn the heat up on a jet engine aircraft it basiclly uses bleed air off of the jet and will get very very almost dangerous hot. Usually envoironment controls are on the Copilot side.
This is bullshit... Im iraqi and I know what the Iraqi accent is....even the control when telling the frequency for centre, there is no such frequency used in Baghdad airways.... his accent is Asian

Sounds like the CFI had a panic attack about the heat (heavy breathing) and lost his cool. CFI should have been aware of language barriers.
