Don't worry much of Baroque pitch. Pitch varied throughout the Old World. The only need for designating such a pitch today is to standardize it so that instruments made for it may be compatible, especially those with a more fixed-tuning such as woodwinds. The choice of pitch itself need mostly be lower for purposes of structural integrity. Surely 415 was chosen due to being a semitone lower which permits transpose and compatibility with Baroque pitch and modern pitch instruments.
