If you heard this and didn't know it was a female, I suspect you'd think it was great. Cut her some slack, people; she's only 14 in this video! Wish I could have done something that wonderful at that age. Sounds like sour grapes to me. And, really, have the teachers of the US done such a bad job that apparently educated people don't know the difference between "your" (a possessive) and "you're" - (contraction for you are)? It's so glaring.

i love the pentup house quote by phil woods. i think that grace kelly has excellent good phrasing, but im not a huge fan of her tone. i know people are going to criticize the shit out of me for saying this, but i dont think her tone has any substance. by the way, as ive studied with several famous saxophone players as well, i can say this and mean it and have some backing to what i say. so dont rip on my without know what your talking about

to be honest i dont rate woods i thin k she is more inventive ,and flies the changes look at woods face ,and she dosnt have all parkers notes to work from pure talent 10 stars for the girl

didnt say phil didnt hit the changes i just didnt think he was as creative and as for tone how can you tell on a pc its all personal choice shes a great little player and can only get better ,,like i said she unlike woods does not have all parkers manuscripts and licks to work from

when i say tone i dont mean solely the phyiscal pureness of he sound, but i was more referring to her sound as a jazz musician. its really in and very mainstream. granted she was fourteen, but it hasnt really changed much recently.

Phil is the greatest. Everyone knows what he's all about. No surprise about his greatness. This kid, however, Grace Kelly is just mind blowing! What a carreer she's going to have!

This is just absolutely amazing! Grace is having the time of her life, learning in real time from the master, soaking up every sound, learning on the spot, building on it. This is what real jazz is all about -- experimenting, swinging, having fun, entertaining the audience. Phil is obviously very gracious with his support of young musicians and shows his true heart.
