  • How does the silver star have p42 in florida and aem 7 in the northeast is it an engine switch

  • Amtrak silver meteor with ex-up Coach 5518 made in 1961 you are clear to depart over and out.

  • Ive been to penn station...got there by way of the Crescent line from Anniston Alabama. riding by rail was a great experience and I'd do it again!

  • Cool! I have been at Penn.Station New York Thanks for sharing!

  • I have been to penn station before!!

  • What kind of engine is that?? I usually catch Train #97 in Winter Park Florida and by that time it is being pulled by two engines not at all like that one...

  • Nothing like listening to the hum of the tunnels in Penn Station! Then you stop at the entrance of the tunnel to wait for 30 NJT trains to go by and still get to Washington relatively on time! LOL!

  • cool, very cool.

    RedKruzer

  • hey everyone this would be my first time going i would like to know how coach class would be like on this kind of trip or is a roomette necessary. ??? Thank you.

  • Does anyone know when the Viewliner was put into service?

  • so im guessing when it hits DC, it switches over to Genesis engines?

  • How long is this train?

  • One word; tripod.

  • Good view of the equipment. I looked to see if the Heritage diner was former SP Sunset stock and it was not. In 2000 I rode from South Florida to DC and our dining car was very obviously built for the Sunset Limited. The stainless steel name plaque's original paint had been removed by Amtrak but you could easily make out the still obvious Sunset Limited logo. If any of the Sunset stock is still in service it would now be approaching 60 years of use.

  • American trains are fantastic, thks for sharing all your videos

  • @raulamx : after checking out trains in India, UK, Korea and Japan, I feel it is a disgrace to call these trains. But then, you got to love what you have.

  • @vvikramraj well at least u have a regular passenger service, in mexico we have nothing :(

  • :50

    I hear an ALP46.

  • That was awesome!!! Great video of the Silver Meteor. I'm thinking about taking this train one of these days just for fun. It's got to be one heck of a ride all the way down to Miami.

  • I wish the HHP-8 came down here to Florida!

  • @jbovinette not electrified

  • DUH! I know that.

  • But then there would be no Engine Change! What we live for! haha! :)

  • Amtrak isn't happy with the HHP-8. They will be retired (possibly early) and not re-ordered.

  • yea im takina cruise lol

  • Hello! LOL

  • She said Hello, Dave.

  • No, mike. She did not. I doubt she even knew who I was. CNJGeep got it right.

  • She said Hello Hello

  • "So Long, Toodle-oo"

    ---Conductor

  • Upon replaying it, I think you're right, lol.

  • Friendly conductor there.

  • I swear I hear an NJT ML train with an ALP-46 arriving at the same time.

  • You would be correct. 7021 with 7 additional ML's and 4603 pushing them into the station.

  • Ahh, I LOVE 4603. That's one of my favorite ALP-46 units.

  • Nice job with the vid...I catch them all the time at Jersey Avenue!

  • What did that conductor say to you?

  • In all honesty, I couldn't understand what she was saying when she said it to me, and I couldn't understand it when I played it again on the computer, so I am not sure.

  • OK!
