Even though it all sounds the same, the same shit is badass. Country sounds the same, rap sounds like a bunch of black guts yelling at each other, and dubstep sounds like my grandpa getting smashed by a garbage truck. Everything is the same, and its badass.

Only when you open yourself up to a new type of music and really take the experience in, do you notice the details that make each song unique. But that's not to say that there aren't genres that are bogged down by sameness and mediocrity. Rap is one of them. Pop Rock too. And to a certain extent, metalcore.
