@BatetrickPatman I'm 23 and I've spent the last 7 years uninsured because my parents didn't qualify for employer-provided healthcare benefits, and private insurers refused to cover me because of preexisting conditions. If I get shot or stabbed tomorrow I would likely die of infection due to the minimum care standards most hospitals use to treat uninsured patients. There are about 40 million more like me in your country. But, I pity you more than myself, because unlike me, you're heartless.

Hospitals use this tactic all the time when they're behind on their finances, just making debt out of thin air.

If I get shot or stabbed tomorrow I would likely die of infection due to the minimum care standards most hospitals use to treat uninsured patients. There are about 40 million more like me in your country. But, I pity you more than myself, because unlike me, you're heartless.

Thanks to those big corporate hospitals I now have a $3000 unpaid debt that has been destroying my credit score since I got my college loan, because of an anesthesia bill from a surgery 8 years ago that they apparently lost the paperwork for until 2 years after the surgery. Hospitals use this tactic all the time when they're behind on their finances, just making debt out of thin air.

There is no right to it. The right is to LIFE, not to another person's services. @BatetrickPatman Hmm. well, as one human being to another, I hope you can afford either health insurance, good health insurance, or good health care for the rest of your life, as you age, and perhaps and your health begins to fail, and maybe you're not such a desirable employee any more.
The thing is, nobody but the very wealthy can afford to pay for health care, because it is now so expensive, so we have to share the cost. Otherwise, most people, the majority, won't be able to get it.

@BatetrickPatman That is the nature of insurance. We all pay, we all share the risk, and those who have the need, due to illness or accident or bad weather, use the services. We live in a society, and in a healthy society people who have the wherewithal shoulder some more responsibility than those who don't have as much ability. Then we have a stronger society. Even animal societies take care of each other.
Maybe you'll feel differently one day, if you find yourself in need.

It's Keynesian Economics, otherwise known as a fiat monetary policy. The left & right are simply fighting over where to spend all the toxic money. Either way toxic assets are toxic assets. In the bigger picture the left/right paradigm is little more than theater.

Frederick Douglass said, when asked how to affect social change, "Agitate, agitate agitate!!!". Michael Moore has put this statement into action, and I admire him for standing up and doing so. The entire reason everyone knows who he is isn't because you either agree or disagree with him, but that he is an otherwise "ordinary guy" who has done extraordinary things. He has stood up and AGITATED. More of us need to do the same. That is how change comes about.
