  • The current lineup is James Young(original), Tommy Shaw(original), Todd Sucherman(original drummer, John Panazzo died in 1996), Ricky Phillips(bass), Chuck Panazao(original bass) and Lawrence Gowan(keyboards, Dennis Deyoung is out on his own). Even though they are not all the original, they sound very good, especially in concert. Saw them 2 weeks ago in Vegas. They sill Rock!!!

  • Ok I liked this but we're talking "who are these guys?"

  • it is nice to see that good old songs are still living

  • this is only a few years old. they look good for a bunch of 50somethings, huh! ;)

  • is this styx early years or somtin. why. 1, they look young. 2, they are singing really old songs.

  • @EasyExpertVillage The reason they look young is because there is only one original member left. Guitarist, who's name is, ironically, James Young!

  • Sorry for the multiple posts.

  • wow...that was GLORIOUS!!!!

very energized and still faithful to original.

I was sitting in a cornflake...in my basement I mean, clapping at the end of this.

  • One of the best bands around....kudos! ouuuuuuuuu

  • AWESOME!!!!!! <3

  • WELLL. what a surprise, interesting and well played rendition!!! I like a good version, regardless what nations a band comes from..and I say this as a die-hard Beatles fan!

  • The Beatles ..... ON STEROIDS!!!

  • Jim Carrey's cover is the best and most like the original even with all his humor added into it.

  • i saw them olay that song in jackson ms it was the best concert ever my favorite band next to the beatles and zepplin so it worked out perfect

  • oasis's version is better to me because the beatles are a british band....and oasis are british and the gift to be able to cover beatles songs still lies with british bands

  • Probably the best cover here on Youtube. Oasis leaves out like.. everything.

  • ya!

  • That Rocked!

  • this is NOT Styx, it's just a couple of guys from Styx.

  • oh this is styx and they rock!!

  • it is because they are not all together anymore... it is too styx!!!

  • I think they did an amazing job. No complaints at all.

Go complain about Tiffany doing,"I saw HIM standing there."

  • why do you care so much if the styx, a big classic GREAT band covers a Beatles ? first off its done really well, second its just one song

    chilllll

  • ur an ass......there is NO BAND IN THE WORLD that have the right to do covers of the beatles, apartfrom CRM114! so shut the fuck up!!!!!!!!!

  • ya im crying too.... i wonder wat deyoung made of this? i wonder wat he would make this song sound like.

  • Not bad, but beatles all the way, and jim carrey ant bad at this song.

  • because we love Lennon's songs.

  • awesome cover!

    goo goo g'joob! \m/

  • lawrence sounds better than john lennon! i've met him a few times -very sweet man-and quite nice to look at too!! hes the best thing that happened to styx-i'll never go to a gowanless styx concert!

  • seriously, gowan rocks

  • I've met him once, and you are so right. He was SO nice, and so cute! I'll never forget it. My most recent concert was the first time I got to hear them do this song live. It was awesome.

  • Thats a pretty bold statement. Although it is a good cover I dont know how you can say he sounds better than John Lennon.

  • Thanks for this video! Saw them this play live at the House of Blues San Diego....WOW. This song is AMAZING live!!

  • i saw these guys in verona a couple weeks ago and it was incredible.i have a few videos from that concert in my youtube channel if youre interested

  • sure! i'd LOVE to see it :D thanks for posting!

  • Thanks, but I just wish people would stop posting these crappy cell phone videos of concerts. They's just terrible (not to mention illegal)

  • @TeddyJackEddie1 Well some bands do allow you like aerosmith they let you film and then theyll grab your phone if your in the front and film them singing to the phone or if its your freind on the phone sing to them.

  • @TeddyJackEddie1 you think this is a cell phone video?

  • @muffinsNsausage Absolutely not. I was making a joke about a lot of the other videos on YouTube.

  • @muffinsNsausage Absolutely not. I was making a joke about a lot of the other videos on YouTube. I saw these guys do this last year and was really impressed.

  • Seen them several times and they ALWAYS sound great! Can't wait until the next time.

  • Saw these for the 5th time in the last 12 years at HOB in Myrtle Beach, SC on Jan. 19, 2008. Sounded awesome as usual. Saw them in 1996 in one of their first gigs with Gowan. Maybe not qyuite the vocalist, but much better keyboardist and entertainer than DeYoung. I am big Beatle fan. Love this tune! Gowan rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice!

  • That Frickin Rulz !!

  • goo goo ca choo! AWESOME!

  • Great Video! Lawrence sounds Awesome!
