At this point all I know is that they both turned on. I haven't verified that the files yet. But I would imagine there will be some drastic differences between the images which would not make for good 3D. I'm going to use this for side by side testing though.
@keithhopkin I can imagine that the 3d view won't be perfect because of the color & light difference between both cameras but I expected that GoPro would change the firmware to make it impossible to sync the different cameras.

if you're in the settings hold down the shutter for 3 seconds to exit out at any point! great when you are switching into a new resolution, so fast
