Note that in all that verbiage, Price doesn't actually try to claim that he read the bills before voting for them. He's slick.
I'm looking forward to this upcoming campaign: Obama's coattails are pretty threadbare these days, and Price is going to have a hell of a time defending his career of public disservice.
You better read them, thats why we are putting you in office, we expect you to be smart enough to read the legislation. A buch of high powered lawers write them, esentially if you dont read them, these lawyers are running the country, not you Mr. Price, get your lazy ass up and do some work. I cant wait till Nov, 2010, it is going to be a suitcase parade out of Washinton DC.
@LogicalFlawDetector Go away Edomite / Canaanite troll. We know who you are and we know who your Serpent father is. Every statement you make bears witness against you and drives another nail in your coffin. That scum Price may have won the election but he )and you) will loose the war.
There is supposed to be a debate at UNC between the two next Tuesday, October 14th. Supposedly Price is trying to get out of it, running scared. We'll see if he has the guts to show up!
"Rep. Betty Hall explains why she felt the need to introduce a Resolution to Petition Congress to Commence Impeachment Procedures in the United States Congress."
She was a representative (and still is a state rep. btw) when Nixon was president.
This lady's been in politics for a long time. She has something to say and she deserves to be heard. Apparently the media disagrees, her voice should be heard.
Lawson is probably a good candidate if he believes in the same things Ron Paul does. Note to Lawson: remove the backpack before stepping in front of the cameras.
I think it makes him look like an everyday Joe, not a bad thing when you're going against a career politician like Price. Then again, it also makes him look like he's still in college.
I'm pretty sure Price isn't a Blue Dog... he votes for all sorts of spending and proposes earmarks like crazy. He doesn't seem to realize this country has a deficit.
Everyone: We have a grassroots started MONEYBOMB for BJ Lawson this Sunday!!! Yup, June 29th. We've been working very hard on it, so please pledge at lawsonlibertyfund [dot] com.
No politician purporting to be a "liberal" should be voting for the Patriot Act, whether they read the bill or not. I'm sorry, but any Bill that limits our 1st Amendment rights (as well as our right to privacy) is unforgivable.
Good Luck BJ in your race to unseat this marble-mouthed buffoon....There was an awful lot of hot air in Price's lead up to his final response which was full of holes at that! Spew alot of double-talk-gobbledy-gook and seemingly make your constituents happy with the non-answer you provide them!
Hilarious. Here's a tip, Price: People can tell when you're not being honest. Rambling on about a "yes or no" question doesn't make you any more convincing.
Realistically, he's going to get his ass handed to him in the 4th District. It's overwhelmingly Democratic. Not to mention Durham has a huge African American Population that will be voting straight ticket for all Democrats.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Yeah it is true...the 4th District is 20 Percent African American & they have been voting close to 93 percent democrat. Not to mention the record number of Democrats that registered & voted in NC. Price is a Democratic Incumbent in a year that its bad to be a Republican, in a District that is heavily democratic. Lawson is cool but he's going to lose. Sorry to have to break it to you.
Actually, I'm sorry to break it to YOU. Unlike you, I have been paying close attention to the campaigns. You have done no research other than make some guesses. Check mate!
Ok sir....What did I say that was wrong or unresearched? You just saying that I'm wrong without bringing any substance doesn't cut it. I like Lawson but my arguement is that the demographics don't favor him at all....what have you said to rebut my arguement? Hell the last time Price lost was in 94 during the whole Contract With America Movement, I don't see the Republican Party mobilizing at that level.
FoxFire youre saying a lot of facts. but it isnt impossible. If Lawson only campaigns hard enough he can unseat Price. But he needs money to be able to do that. He needs at least half a million probly. you know when Ron Paul won his district in the mid 70s it has always been democratic and he turned it Republican. Though it is true he delivered most of the babies in his district. maybe people felt compelled to vote for him I dont know. But for Dr Lawson to win it is possible with hard work
No offense fox fire but demographics dont win elections. People voting do. I live in this district and i know the people well. People are very unhappy with David Price. I am quite sure Obama will run up unheard of numbers in the triangle. Dont think however these same people will vote for Price. He has been upsetting a lot of people the last two years and since BJ is a viable alternative (the 1st i may add) Price will have problems come November.
No offense taken. I actually live right beside his district(Raleigh in District 2). Price isn't as popular in the 4th as his fellow Congressional Democrats (Brad Miller in the 12th & Bob Ethridge in the 2nd) but most people still vote straight ticket and in a year where people will becoming to the polls to vote against Republicans it presents a Herculean task for BJ.
Oh yeah...a quick side note: I believe the overwhelming majority of those Obama rangles up in the 4th District will be voting for Price. The campaigns have a good working relationship with each other since Price was the 2nd member of the NC delegation to endorse Obama (GK Butterfield of the 1st District was the first to do so).
Actually I am aware of them....as well as the Lawson Liberty Fund, Lawson Minutemen, Liberty Republicans & Liberty Democrats. That doesn't change my opinion. Is there anything else you would like to enlighten me on?
this Price amazes me. He spins questions better than Hannity & Colmes. There is a big difference between read and considered. He voted against FISA when he knew you are a Ron Paul Republican running against him. He is trying to save himself. Pls Dr Lawson dont let this corrupt politician get away with what he did. he will do it again

Is there, in fact, a Lawson-Price debate scheduled at any point?
ncyonder 3 years ago 3
Price has nothing to gain from a debate, so the only way it will happen is if the press shames him into it.

May you prosper and succeed in helping us regain our civil liberties!

It matters not. Price is a sycophant, who signs what hes told to sign, regardless of the best interests of the American people.
It was just sad to watch him attempt to dodge the question. How lame.
Thank you BJ Lawson for handing this guy his ass.
