Remember to mention, once Dev Mode is turned on you must go through a Luna restart before ttaching to computer. Also once you plugin your Touchpad, do not put in USB mode but "just charge". No long Konami Code needed to get into Devloper mode just type "webos20090606"

Nice job, but as the world turns things have changed considerably in 5 months in the HP TP universe. We have installed ICS alpha 0.6 now - admittedly does not run recorder, camera and other things still need porting nevertheless android CPU controller can overclock to 1.72 (safe) but can run 1.91 (unstable - wheeels start to fall off ;-) Once again great instruct for noobs. I can't even open quick install. when i open the jar thing it askes open or save. press save. then says it already saved that and thats it.

thanks! im so new to this and I was able to follow your instructions and it worked fine for me however one request for future videos...i noticed you have a webcam on your laptop, please try using that to film yourself! Im the type of person who gets sea sick when watching videos and the camera's moving all over the place!

Thanks for the video. Can you or anybody else answer this: If I install Preware and patches to improve the performance of my TouchPad, does this leave me open to security problems? i.e. How do I know the homebrew patches or software aren't harvesting my passwords for email, online shopping, banking, etc.? ok - would love some help with this. Have a demo model - have updated webos, but cannot log into webos registration. have followed directions and trying to do quick install - get message saying no device detected install novacom. It installs, but takes me back to same window saying no device connected.

@DrJailbreak By Demo - I mean that I bought the floor model of this from Walmart for at a $40 discount. It had the demo software on it - so I could not get past the webOS registration screen. All is good as I sent it off to HP Saturday before last for the latest OS installation. I got it back this Monday.

ok please dont copy paste the same message as you have with other peoples questions. On my screen it says preware is downloading but it stays on the downloading screen for over 2 hours. Ive restarted it a few times with only the same result. How long does preware take to download and what should I do?

@JustAskRose most people do not read through the other posts, so instead of me retyping it in a different manner to say the same thing is quite time consuming and somewhat irrelevant. But as to the preware downloading time, it should not take more than a few minutes. Have you updated java and reinstalled the Novacom drivers?

@bladilu that is what I am running it on. try updating java and also make sure to Allow Quick Install to install the Novacom drivers if it prompts you.

Bad news by the end of 2011 webOS would have died like a dinosaur that's right webOS is discontinued but I'm sure hp will make it open source. FYI new Os is well windows 7 I believe
