  • Stanley Kubrick pretty much invented the inappropriate soundtrack when he used "Singin in the Rain" in A Clockwork Orange.

  • LOL

  • Not really out of place.

  • #ROFL

  • Ludwig Von Drake The Spectrum Song from Walt Disney's Wonderful World of

    Color.

  • WIN

  • I just died

  • BRILLIANT!!!

  • can anyone please tell what song is played in this vid?

  • I roared in laughter :D This is SO happy and full of win!

  • I tried to watch this movie and I had to turn it off after five minutes of staring at nothing. Kudos for making it worth something.

  • My first bet was the Doctor who theme tune but this is better :')

  • What a coincidence, I just watched the sequal to this, earlier today. Both films are really good, but I wonder what the books are like?

  • the flashes of his freeked out eyes just makes this vid. lolololol

  • Musique Concréte rules!

  • Strangely this is probably what the edge of the universe actually sounds like... Behold, life makes no fucking sense...

  • i literally lol'd

  • A nice touch to such a deep and involving scene, but yes at the same time talking about this film in a serious sense. 2001 does have so many deep references in it and can be read on so many different levels. I like to try and look at the movie and also the book (lets not 4get that! lol), as basically showing man's journey to becoming "God" almost. And i often wonder even now today, that what with secret societies and all that man may in-fact be trying to do that.

  • DUDE, all this shit happened 10 yrs ago!

  • Damn. What an outrageous accent.

  • hes like... the fucking hell is this shit

  • 2001 was so insanely unpredictible,I can't believe kubrick didn't use this song.it fits.seriously.

  • Poor Dave...being subjected to that for all that time without a gun to shoot himself. But he got his revenge later since the music came from Jupiter, and then "something wonderful" happened.

  • I can't imagine why they didn't use this in the final edit. It's a keeper.

  • Hahahaha! Wonderful! This passage in the original movie made me pass out/trance/go to sleep! I watched the movie four times before I saw the end! No, I didn't get seizures or use drugs or anything, it's just that that sequence is kind of hypnotizing to me! lol! Thank you for this, though!

  • This is one of those movies that I don't particularly enjoy, but recommend everyone see just for how big of an impact on everything it has had. There are countless references that you wouldn't get without seeing it.

Oh, and the inappropriate soundtrack had me in stitches too.

  • LOL at spanking his mouth at 1:00-1:15.

    Dilly Dilly Silly

  • That was.............interesting......

  • LOL this scene used to scare the shit outta me! Not any more! xD

  • so what song is that? i remember it from a cd i used to own. but its gone. lol

  • Oh Jesus. I lol'd so hard.

  • omg, I love this song, but I was totally not expecting it to come up here. I nearly peed my pants I laughing so hard. These videos are so great!

  • I always thought Aha's "Take on me" would fit well too

  • omg lol!

  • "Open the pod bay doors, Hal."

    "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that."

  • Bravo!

  • WTF?! :)

  • congrats, u've made kubrick hilarious

  • ROFL! Had Bowman actually heard this song I think it would have made him crazy.

  • How the fuck do you even know some of these songs?

  • I have seen the movie now and I still don´t know what´s going on.

  • Can anyone tell me what´s going on? I haven´t seen the movie

  • The most amazing moment in film ever together with the goofiest song from my childhood memories. Brilliant!

  • wow....

  • ZING!

  • @RichardKleiner Blasphemy! KUBRIK IS GOD!

  • @davidjradich and Steven Spielberg his prophet?

  • @RichardKleiner Fuck you.

  • @Stiny114 Ah, Kubrick fans are so witty!

  • Fan fucking tastic!

  • Kubrick was usually so unpredictable I am surprised he didn't really use this song in the real thing ha.

  • I was crying while watching this. The best video I've seen in like half a' year!

  • Hahaa!! This wonderful.

  • lol!!!!

  • I really want to some one can create a winamp visualization, looks like fractals or something

    sorry by my bad english

  • Fun footage to watch. But did the film ever provide an answer to the query that even stumped Einstein: "ARE THERE RINGS AROUND URANUS"?

  • Ludwig von Drake with 2001: An idea so crazy that it actually WORKS! The soundtrack is oddly fitting, believe it or not, especially towards the end, but you did succeed in making me laugh a lot harder than I thought I would. I think this video made my night :).

  • what´s the name of this song??!!it is funny

  • lol

  • this is truly demented

  • Should've used Daft Punk's "One more time"

  • Totally agree!

  • this is my favorite video on youtube. i remember the song from some disney cd i listended to when i was like 4 or something. anyways this is some funny shat

  • i really cant stand that part of the movie but that was hilarious.

  • that was the finest moment in any film ever and you are going to hell for disliking it you slime infested fox-new-watching maggot-ridden evangelical christian racist fascist slut objectivist young-earth-creationist i bet you jerk off to pictures of mussolini

  • i dont know if you were being serious or not but that was friggin hilarious to read

  • I'm going to assume they weren't serious, as no human in the history of cinema likes that scene. At the very least, you have to admit that it goes on WAAAAY too long.

  • I wouldn't go that far. I'm a perfectly sober person, and I found it pretty interesting. But then again, im a space nut lol

  • I admit that it goes on a few minutes more than I would have liked. However, I enjoy that scene immensely even in it's original form. ;)

  • aww i like it, but yeah it does go for too long, but its kubrick, he knows best

  • @Boonehams

    Aww.. I liked it... :(

Yes, I admit it went on pretty long, but I thought it was very ominous and mysterious.. especially considering what's happening to him and where he's going.

Okay.. *cough* the book kinda helps for that... :P

  • @Boonehams I disagree :P

Sorry, I didn't think it went on for too long.

  • @Boonehams

If you're serious I'd have to disagree; I bet that scene must have been a hell of a trip in the theater.

    Love Kubrick.

  • @Boonehams The whole movie goes on too long!

  • Comment removed

  • @Boonehams I love this scene my fav scene in the history of film and my favorite movie. No regrets on how it was made, okay with it being as long as it is.

  • @Boonehams I like that scene. A lot.

  • By any chance do you like this film?

  • best flame ever.

  • What the heck is this song from?

  • watch?v=4u8ygqKf5Sg

  • Sorry, that link isn't working for me?

  • Really? Hm....

    /watch?v=4u8ygqKf5Sg

If that doesn't work, then I'll just say it. It's Ludwig Von Drake's Spectrum of Colors song. You can find right here on the Youtubes.

  • You are a sick, twisted genius. I would love to see what you'd do with 'Tron', 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?' or anything by the Marx Brothers.

  • The title of this video is clearly inaccurate as the soundtrack is incredibly appropriate :-D

  • So far, Ive watched about 3/4 of the videos, and this one had me LOL the hardest. Others were a soft chuckle.

  • my god...it's full of win

  • @greenshoesguy1 PFFFT. I'M LAUGHING REALLY HARD RIGHT NOW.

  • This song single-handedly turned this movie from a sci-fi weird as hell flick into the most horrifying thing I've ever seen in my life (even more so than Teletubbies).

  • thought that movie couldnt get any trippier... guess i thought wrong

  • Without a doubt the best one of them all!!!

  • Dear god, that was awesome.

  • Holy crap, I remember this song! I had it on a cassette tape when I was a little kid- I haven't heard it in years! I absolutely loved how ( mainly in the beginning ) the colors actually synced with the song part of the time. One of my favorite Inappropriate Soundtrack videos! Keep 'em coming! :D

    - myFork

  • @myFork Whats the song called and who is it by? It's so mental I love it!

  • Buahuahuhauhauhauahauh!!!

  • ROFL

  • That music was hillarious! I don't know how you came up with that song, but it fit so perfectly with this movie!

  • O filme é chato demais! Talvez essa música tivesse deixado ele mais interessante!

  • The end of the movie always made me think, Wtf is happening right now on my TV.

  • I always thought the four still shots of Dave in stunned anguish were bizarre.

  • Don't know what this song is, but its nuts :)

  • SPOILER

It's called "The Spectrum Song" by Ludwig Von Drake--yes, the cartoon character. There's a video of it on YouTube somewhere.

  • Never heard of that! I'll try and check it out.

  • Wow, that was something

  • This is one of the few times I have literally laughed out loud. Kudos.

  • Glad I could be of service.

  • I like the scene.. in a 60s drug-abuse-culture-context ;)

But your parody is really, really hilarious! The second time I watched it, I laughed my ass off in anticipation, even before the joke began xD

    What song is that, anyway?

  • Well maybe I'm wrong but I think "Oh Yeah" would fit better in the whole scene.

  • The song I picked was pretty specific, and I have other ideas for "Oh Yeah", so I'm saving that song for later. Thanks for the feedback, though!

  • I'd say brilliant ... but brilliant things are easy to mock.

    High larious.

Boone, you should post these on the MM forum (Sheridan did a mainpage article of them a few days ago).

  • Thanks for the compliments! And joining the forum sounds like a good idea. I might take you up on that.

  • OH MY GOD! That was one of the FUNNIEST freaking things I've ever seen. It's like that song was written for that stupid scene. Yeah, Kubrick fans, I said it was STUPID.

  • Even Kubrick fans think it's... well, it's long. Stupid may be going a bit.... Yeah, it's kind of stupid.

  • Yeah, it is pretty stupid. And I love 2001.
