Nobody handed us anything. We knew the US team would play against Costa Rica as if they hadn't qualified yet, because for you guys it's not enough to qualify... you HAVE to be number 1. I praise that mentality and wish we had it too. You guys deserved the number 1 spot and I'm glad you earned it. You were the only team to beat Honduras in San Pedro Sula during this whole qualifying round, and that's admirable. Congratulations and keep it up. You're winners.

Yeah, the ambiance in the Stadium last Saturday was pretty good, it wasn't like when Mexico played against us (people threw a lot of stuff at Mexicans). The funny thing is that when we celebrated our ticket into the World Cup, a lot of people were just yelling THANK YOU!!! to anyone gringo-looking haha, some guy kneeled in front of my belgian friend's dad and started yelling THANKS USA!!!!!

All the Honduran fans I've met seem to like the United States. When I saw the US play Canada in an Olympic Qualifier at LP Field, Honduras played Guatemala in the game immediately before that one. The Hondurans stayed on for the game and cheered on the US, waved US flags, etc. Also, I went to a Honduran nightclub to watch US v. Honduras recently, and when the US won several Honduran fans actually congratulated us on our win (though if they disqualified it would've been different).
