just to let you know, you don't need libusb for the redsn0w jailbreak data and it has only 14 mb and you don't have to restore, check my channel for the vid

You can set it up in any language as far as my knowledge goes.

you need to restore your ipod, but you can tell it to restore from a backup once you restore from a fresh ipsw. soem people reported problems but youll be fine

Everything up to that point seems to work fine. I have xtools, linkusb, and the pwnage folder installed and unzipped. I have itunes quit, and running pwnage on terminal.

Worked nicely with a statically linked rslite :) The version from the archive gave me a bus error.

? tiger is 10.4. leopard is 10.5. try the other LibUSB link. if it dosent work, try installing Xcode tools. then try agin.
