Wow what a voice. Perfect for ballads like this.

And the rhythm section - superb! If the (highly talented) drummer had been on anything but his brushes, the complete character of the song would be less than the masterpiece it is. Far more difficult to play under-stated than bash and crash around on the kit. Bravo gentlemen.

I went to see Gillian Welch around 1995 on a bill with Kate Campbell and Lynn Miles in Louisville, KY. I was so taken with Lynn's music that I talked her into giving me her PO box so I could send a check for her 1st album, which she didn't carry with her on tour. I have tried several times since to see one of her shows again, but something always happens to prevent it. she is a big name in Canada, but she should be more popular in the US as well.

Remember seeing her perform in London when she was promoting "Slightly Haunted". Not a huge audience, as you can imagine..but a superb concert nonetheless.

Unfortunately, Lynn is still one of music's best kept secrets. She should have been a huge star by now.

She's amazing. Get her Slightly Haunted CD (her second one) and you'll have (in my opinion) her best album. I've listened to the CD hundreds of times -- catchy melodies and great lyrics. Enjoy, Ottawa's Lynn Miles rocks! :)

Well, if you got the CD that's titled Slightly Haunted, you got her second CD, and it's her best. At least the majority of her fans would agree. I was just confused by your note, you said "took a CD with the title "Slightly Haunted" -- if you got that CD, you got the best, or perhaps you got a CD with just that (1) song. Either way, she's #1 for female singers for this guy. Enjoy!
